    He's worried about the line "unapproved foreign parachute system" The way it's worded it sounds like if you're from another country, jumping foreign gear, then your countries rules apply to you. However, let's say you live in Canada, but you're jumping a Mirage with a PD main and reserve ('approved' gear?) that the U.S.'s rules apply to you. Although I think the intent is clear, the wording could be a little better. it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

    Eh... it really has no teeth to it at all. Ah... now I see... so we can use the program to keep the FAA or whoever off our backs. It's simply there to say "we have a program in place" - even though it's not really effective, the people outside of the sport don't know that. Just a way to placate the letter groups.     Just an idea, don't know how easy/hard it'd be, but is there anyway to check if there's unclosed tags in a post? It's bad enough that there's a ton of people that don't take the 30 seconds to click on "Get Markup Help" and read it (maybe they don't know what "markup" is?) It's almost worse when people leave a 'quote' tag open. Wouldn't even have to close them or anything, just have it say 'you have unclosed markup tags, post anyway?' or something... If it's a pain, don't worry about it, I'll just skim/ignore the confusing-to-read posts like I do now.

    Sure there is - to stay safe. DZs don't follow BSRs just to stay in the program, they do it because most of them make sense, and they'd follow them anyway. I don't understand your logic here... maybe I haven't had enough coffee. You're saying people shouldn't jump at non-member DZs? Uhh.. because their planes are falling apart and they're all a bunch of yahoos with no regard to safety? Being a group memeber does not automatically make it a safe DZ, it's a title, nothing more. it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

    I was thinking this when I first heard it - staged his own death. Again, how hard could it be to find the body? I'd show the picture around some DZs, see if he's been through training anywhere. Buy a rig, stash it on the plane, make sure everyone sees you getting on the plane, and make sure someone notices the plane coming back empty - like, call while you're still in the air on your way back to the airport.

    Heh.. must have been OSP, because Dayton cops could care less how fast you're going, as long as you're not shooting anyone or waking them up. OSP and most of the little towns around here are totally pricks. Good Example .. most of the smaller towns use speeding tickets as revenue - I swear they plan their budget by it. Tried to actually fight one once, because I really wasn't speeding. Yeah, that worked out well, I was threatened with "up to 30 days in jail and a $1000 fine". The whole 'traffic court' thing is a joke, they might as well call it "Give-us-your-money-and-leave court" it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
