  1. Hi, I apologize for not getting this before. Someone here referred to a way to fold a pilot chute so that the bridle could easily extract it from the pouch. Can you please describe this for me or point me to someone who has this info? I assumed the method I was using was OK, since I had been told "all the packers do it this way." Obviously since I'm writing this, I was WRONG to assume! Fortunately I checked it on the ground today! Thanks in advance and Blue Skies, Frogger
  2. Hi Sandy! I've been to your place once, but didn't get a chance to jump there. Really nice DZ! I normally jump at Pell City. What is your rigger's name? I'll want to contact him about this and possibly a rig inspection and repack as well. Thanks, Frogger akeeton@path.uab.edu
  3. Hi! Does anyone here know if there is a rigger in the Southeast that can install an FXC Astra on a rig? I live in the Birmingham, AL area, so AL is most preferable with the Atlanta area being 2nd. Thanks and blues! Frogger
  4. Hi, This is only a suggestion if it's not already "do-able". Can the classifieds be set up with a separate field for location so they can be searched for this parameter? I've tried, even cutting and pasting directly from an ad header to the search dialog with no luck! Any suggestions?? Thanks and blue skies, Frogger
  5. Hi All, I'm glad the pullout vs. throw out thread is back. I've been leaning toward the pullout for my 1st rig. The problem is that virtually all modern used gear is BOC and the less expensive containers don't offer the pullout as an option. My point is, can a BOC rig be converted to pullout? Who would have to do it? What kind of cost are we talking about if it is possible? Many thanks in advance, Blue, fluffy skies to ya! Frogger A-38546

  7. 1st let me say I hope all recover quickly. Now the funny part clipped from Reuters, Sydney. Crack Paratroopers Injured during a recent joint military exercise called Tandem Thrust!!!!!!!!!! Uhhhhhh, I don't think most Tandem passengers want to hear about Tandem thrust, let alone getting injured by it! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I'm just a product of the sick humor regarding tandems that is inevitable. Blues, Frogger
  8. I assume that this guy wanted to see how he flew w/ his rig on, or something like that. As I said, I got this 2nd or 3rd hand and was way too busy laughing about it to ask for details. It didn't really seem that important since there were no rigs around. Blues, Frogger
  9. LMAO, remembering the look on the face of the "flyaway" windtunnel when I started talking about "pulling my reserve" if I got in trouble! He told me someone at the Las Vegas flyaway did this accidentally and well you can imagine the result of this. 1 skydiver moves rapidly to the top of the tunnel, then stops just as suddenly. Ouch! 10. Hi Everyone, I've got an "historical" question of sorts. I've seen a few ads here and there for people that want to sell old wonderhog containers. I've heard of these and have the idea that they were used in the mid '80s. Is this right? And more importantly, is this worth considering as a newbie rig? Thanks, Frogger
