not that there's anything wrong with "store-bought" cleavage.

I'm whitewater rafting during the CC boogie, but after reading that Delmarva blurb, it looks like its right down my alley. Hopefully the rig is all pieced together and functioning by then..
-
Haven't yet...though I will be sometime this spring/summer. I'm still borrowing other peoples rigs, and I don't really want to ask them if I can take their shit to another DZ. Just ordered new stuff...3 weeks, and I'll be hitting up other DZ's to see what they're like.

At least 3 minutes...sometimes more. :) And it depends on the beer situation while I'm there. Tonight I brought Corona...wishful thinking for summertime.
-
oh...and it took twice as long to get there. (I hit a redlight) [drops grenade and runs like hell]
-
and only got 1 jump in, and a couple beers....

Sorry it took a while...work decided to block DZ.com unless it's lunch time. I'm just south of Harrisburg.
-
It's a Pseudo-Friday here too...weather looks to be nice for jumping tonight in PA, but tomorrow, not so much.

I was just in the exact same dilemma. I chose to go with the G4-M4. Skybytch's post above covered all the reasons I went with the M4. I can't see myself going below a 150 for quite some time (I'm 5'11, 210 out the door, 85 jumps) Also, from what I've heard (and seen, the main reason I went new) Mirages hold their value extremely well. Oh...and Handsome Dave DeWolf and I had a pretty lengthy discussion about what size would be best. In the end, it's your decision and you're packing it (I assume). Good luck with whatever you choose.

it was kinda like a 2-yr old's comeback.... -You're a poopoo pants.... -Oh yea, well..uh..well..you're a poopoo pants too.

Whoa...there's got to be better than that out there.

Mirage owners... I just ordered my rig, and will be getting a gearbag for it. Looking for some feedback on the Mirage bag that you can get when you order a rig. (Pros and cons). Durability, adequate room for extras, colors, design, etc... Pictures would be a plus...I can't find any on their website. Thanks!

Base jumping off the Palms... think MTV pulled one of their typical behind the scenes moves and get permission to do that stunt?
-
I'm a quick learner. I just recently invested them into a nice G4. I hope to get some decent dividends out of that.
-
Ahh...now I understand. Hows this? I got 2 jumps for 1 "jump" today!!!!
-
Congratulations... Just a warning...every one of your thoughts, all day long, will now either be thinking about your last jump, or wondering when you'll be able to get back the dropzone...it's an addiction.

It's all the freakin' gear that adds up quickly. I can stomach the $18.00 per jump, but being a newbie, acquiring all the gear hurts. Oh well...I guess after the purchase, you usually have something to sell to offset the costs... I should have taken up bowling

So, I've been reading posts/polls for a little while now, and I don't think this one has been done yet. I just recently got Quicken, and started tracking finances, budget, etc... Of course, skydiving has it's own category, and I realized I'm spending a good bit o' cash supporting the local dropzone. So...I had to do the math...since my first jump, I've spent about 10% of my NET income on the sport. Is this right on par with others? I can't take it with me, so I might as well spend it while I got it. Does anyone actually make more coaching, filming, etc. than they spend fun jumping, buying gear, etc?

Whuffo's (and girlfriends) just don't understand

I'm sure some will hate, and some will like it... I was thinking about a flashy, bright rig, but I figured the resale value on "boring" colors is much higher (eventually, it will be resold) The jumpsuit is also black and silver...I've already caught hell from the DZ photographer. Apparently there's "not enough color" in the photos. -

I'm all over that...everything matches now. Well, except the canopies. I'm still looking for used, and have about 5 weeks to search. I'll at least look good, as I'm flailing helplessly through the sky. -

Well...I've only ever been to one dropzone, so I don't really know how other places work, but gear rental wasn't an issue for me. Luckily, I jump at a little Cessna dropzone. It's actually more of a club than a business. Fortunately, I've never had to rent gear, and everyone has been more than willing to let me borrow stuff. I think I've used 2 different rigs, as well as about 4 different peoples canopies all for free. (Well, it did cost me 80 dollars total, I figured I'd pay for two repacks when they were due, since I was saving a shit-ton of money.) Sorry I couldn't answer your question better, but you've definitely come to the right place...I'm sure there are plenty of people here that can answer better than I can. -

Well...I've been lurking about long enough. I've got about 85 jumps under my belt now, and I've gotten tired of looking for a rig that meets my (maybe too high) standards, would fit well, and holds the correct size canopies. So...I ordered a new G4. The girlfriend and family just don't get impressed by a nice looking rig, so I figured I'd show it off to some people that care. ...Only 5 more weeks!!! and I guess I owe beer for at least 2 reasons... first post, first rig.
