    That does seem a bit high - most of my ambulance rides were in the $500 to $600 range....and my insurance covered it.....less my 10%.....

    Where in Europe are you thinking??? I spent a couple of months in Italy.....the trick is going off season.....my round trip ticket was $500.00 to Rome on KLM and my Euro Rail pass was $200.00.....that is a far cry from 8 grand....

    I have never been a big a fan of credit card surcharges....think about it - what if every business decided to charge people a surcharge....that would be entertaining.....

    You need to read your lease....you will most likely need to make your maintenance requests in writing....usually after three complaints and no action - they will be in violation of your lease contract......
