I know, how the fuck some Americans justify going in to Afganistan and Iraq after OBl and AQ on the back of their terrorist activities when they bank rolled the IRA to the tune of something like $20m is amazing. He can't provided stats that gun crime has increased within England because it probably dosn't exists, even one of the documents he linked to said "Firearm offences have fallen significantly, by 14% in the year up to September 2006, which amounts to 1,642 fewer incidents." (or perhaps John has a different undetstanding of the words "fallen" and "fewer" than me). Nick Gravity- It's not just a good idea, it's the LAW!

I've always taken the view the prevention is better than cure, therefore if prevent the "bad guys" from getting the guns Yes exactly, I know that in the past England has had it's fuck ups, I like to think that we've learnt from that and moved on (other than the shit Tony Blair gets us into). Yes you can shoot back, but the more guns you have around the easier it is for one of these "bad" people to get a gun, the more chance there is that somebody will get shot and killed, think that pretty easy logic to follow!!! Don't know what it is with you americans (some of you at least) thinking you can tell the rest of the world what you can do, each time you've gone into a country to try and "help" you've right royally fucked it up. Our society it very different over here and i'd be very surprised if all of what works over there works over here. So he publishes incorrect information in loads of places, makes it even worse. It's just sensationalist crap to sell books, makes you question all the rest of the content. No probs. When I started I used Weston club kit for about 90 jumps until I'd downsized to a 150 (which I got brand new), this has lasted me 450 jumps so far (now on a 132). You do see some people (as dropzones with a lesser kit store) getting their own kit when they are on 190s which don't last them too long and they loose loads on depreciation (sp), but a 150 should last you a few years. Sean As your jumping at Weston my advice would be to use club kit until your ready to go for something like a 170 or 150 (what I did)> Weston has one of the best kit stores in the UK and will have all the right kit to allow you to progress through the sizes (and canopy types) without you buying a rig and being bored of it within a few weeks/jumps etc. You've talked to the instructors which is the best start, keep talking with them, but also ask around the club (worthwhile talking to the riggers (Fordy, Malcolm) as they'll have some good technical info on the different containers and will know of what's coming up for sale.
