  1. I am a bit late, but.... Telstar is just a pattern, and the # is just the series of that pattern. So that would be a regular Mark 1 madein the Telstar pattern . Here's one of mine.
  2. As far as donations go, I am willing to donate a new Liquid Sky camera jacket. Think he'll like it ?
  3. You are making facts up. The only confirmed things are that Eddie had a tattoo and that Betty asked him to cover it up. Anything else is speculation at best. No one had verified what the Quatari personnel had said to the DZ management. Making things up to support your point doesnt make your point any more valid.
  4. fair enough . The point I am making is : a) Him being a veteran has zero relevance to the incident at hand. Yet the vet card is pulled right away. b) He uses a lot of big words to describe what is a not so rich or colorful or long experience. Granted, it's still military experience, but he completely belittles all those who have sacrificed a lot more than him yet don't feel the need to talk about it 24/7. I have known this person for over 4 years, and their online image is quite different from what they are in reality.
  5. All those who are defending this person, please take time to read their story : http://www.adventuresofabrokensoldier.com/my-story.html familiarize yourself with the person's rich MILITARY / COMBAT history Look at their debilitating injuries. And take the time to figure out where their income has been coming for the last 2+ years (yop, there' a chance I may be a bit sarcastic) then when you have learned the facts, please feel free to revise your opinion. Oh, and as a bonus, please ask Eddie when he got the controversial tat (hint : it was years after he got out of service) PS When I hear "disabled combat army vet" I imagine a person missing limbs and digits. PPS Working as a contractor for a 6 digit salary of your own free will : surprise - you get paid that much cause it's dangerous !

  7. The new ad format is a step back. It was never tested fully, and pushed to production way ahead of the time it should have. There are many bugs.
  8. yah, well. I keep marking ads as SCAM, and those same usernames keep re-posting same ads. Why does management not delete/inactivate those users ?
  9. Have you made sure the dropdown for the country is NOT BLANK ? Also, if you keep trying to post something and get errors, the ad may still end up being posted, please be courteous and see if you have posted multiple instances of the same ad, and if so, please delete them. TNX
  10. In short : Crossport Fray (non-bearing ribs, especially center and end cells). Damage on the bottom (both skins) at the trailing edge center (pinholes, tiny line burns) top skin of the center cell from the PCA to the trailing edge - that's where most of the finger grease / sweat is rubbed off and that area will be very worn. As a bonus, a desert canopy will be very dusty, but that area will be much cleaner. An additional bonus is on a lighter colored canopy that area will looks faded / dirty and will most likely fail the pull test. So yeah, it's possible to tell how much usage the canopy has had, even if the material looks relatively good.
  11. :) Personally, I am of the opinion that unless explicitly stated I assume links are included with the canopy. Obviously not everyone agrees nor adheres to that. As far as "agreeing with my technique" - I find it baffling that someone would NOT daisychain the lines. Obviously that's not an uncommon thing too :( Of course the major point that I was making is that the line cards are not necessary. Really, they just aren't. They are cool when PD sends you a canopy with linegroups tied to it using fishing line retainers, but overall they are just a marketing gimmick, an extra fluff that some people think makes it better looking. Functionally, they are rather worthless 99% of the time. Feel free to disagree :)
  12. May I disagree ? Lines on links. Linegroups daisy chained. Cards just add an extra step (I will go as far as say they are a pain in the ass), as any self respecting rigger will still do a full continuity check before assembly. My friendly neighborhood veteran Master Rigger seems to be of the same opinion.
  13. Agreed 100% I can fabricate plenty of pictures of shit supposedly not working. I hope those pictures alone won't be enough to convince the manufacturers or various parachuting associations of the products' lack of airworthiness.
  14. Can we please focus on the elephant in the room. Where's the video of the "incident" that caused the grounding ?
  15. This is more of an aesthetic thing than a bug : when we submit pics, our limit is 300KB per each pic. yet when we click on the thumbs from within the ad, the picture is downsized to a 300px X dim. It looks quite small, and seems wasteful. Can we up the pic size to say 640*x ?
  16. What the poster above me said. Let me also be a bit of a dick and laugh at your use of "woefully out of currency" combined with 9 years since your last jump out of the 50 total.
  17. No notifications in the last 2 days. However, I just tried posting an ad, and got the following error : A fatal error has occured: GT::Plugins (6375): Error running plugin 'POST' hook 'Plugins::Thumb_Images::Admin_DoThumb': Can't locate Image/Size.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/photos/admin /lib /home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/admin /home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/photos/admin /var/home/dropzone/lib /var/home/dropzone/lucene/lib /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/community/private/lib /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gmail/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/adcycle /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gear/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/videos/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/remember/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/incidents/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/fatalities/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/dropzone/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/safety/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/stolen/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/events/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/calendar/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/admin /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/weather/hamlib /var/home/dropzone/rt/lib /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.10.1/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.10.1 /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.1/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.1 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/5.10.1/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/5.10.1 . /usr /home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/community/private/lib) at /var/home/dropzone/dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gear/admin/Plugins/Thumb_Images.pm line 40.   18. The emails I am getting for the Ad Renewal Notification have three canned typos: a) the first line refers to Rockclimbing.com Classified Ad: b) the URL for renewal shows http://www.divetime.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/modify.cgi c) the bottom most URL is http://www.divetime.com/classifieds/
  19. A very fast internet connection so you can upload all the awesome videos you will take using your GoPro while flying the Wingsuit at 90 jumps. Bonus points for having a very long arm with it so you can also see yoru face and all the stickers on your helmet.
  20. I am betting that your deployment brakes are too deep and you are opening in a stall.
  21. what he means is that there's a preview of the detailed description, but when you click on the actual ad, the contents of the description are blank.
  22. When trying to Delete an ad (by going to Delete Ads link below the menu bar) #1 - the title is "Delete Link" (should be Delete Ad) #2 - not all ads are displayed. I had 44 ads running at the time of clicking, but only the first 14 were shown (sorted alphabetically), with no option to go to the next page.
  23. #1 When posting an ad the Country listbox is mandatory, but the default state is blank. Seems like auto-populating is should be a no brainer, as the DB is queried on form load due to having the name and email being pre-populated. The dropdown is also unintuitively placed :( leaving it blank results in the error that Maksimf showed. basejumper.com classifieds have an identical problem. #2 The Premier Member Ads featured section is no longer updating with the new ads since the time of the template change.
  24. When editing an ad that's posted in the Containers section the listbox for Manufacturer is correct, but he listbox for the Type is populated by the items meant for the Reserve section.
