I'll add my .02 to this situation. Personally, for my wedding, I don't want to have much involvment. It's not because I don't care, and it's not because I'm lazy. Here's why.... First off, most girls were planning their weddings since age 6, when we, guys, were busy throwing mud balls and finding ways to pick our noses without people seeing. I'd want her wedding to be exactly how she wanted it, even if I had to wear a pink tux with golden shoes. I'd want it to be perfect for her, and I wouldn't want to change anything about it. That's what I've been saying all along! It's about time somebody caught on!! Don't let anybody trick you into thinking you SHOULD be anyone but you. If they don't like who you are, then it's their loss for not seeing all the good qualities you possess. Trust me, anyone who takes time out of their day just to create drama in your life.....you're better off not paying any attention to them. If you're worried about people starting shit about you, then just remember that it's the other person walking around looking more and more like an asshole the more they say about you. Go about your days as you normally would, and know that this schmuck isn't worth getting upset about. It's karma....it'll all come back to them later. Like Jesus said....."Accept me, or go to hell.". That's fucked up. I have NO desire to ever see any one of my friends hurt themselves, let alone kill themselves or be killed. It's not something to "check off your list". Death is a part of our sport, and always will be, but that's not a good thing, it's a bad thing. Witnessing the death of a fellow skydiver is not something to be proud of, and not something that you'll have bragging rights over. Not a cool thread. Really.
