  1. An evil person would rather hurt somebody else than help themselves. They don't want forgiveness, They want revenge.
  2. Philosopher Susan Neiman thinks so. http://www.salon.com/2017/09/19/philosopher-susan-neiman-the-president-of-our-country-is-evil/ I do too.

First, they came for the dreamers, and I did nothing; I was not a dreamer. Yeah, my head is exploding. I'd rather deport trump supporters. But what do I know?
  4. The crafty ones are the guys that created an army of brain dead zombies that don't care about facts or reality. The guys that are writing U.S. policy right now, for all of us. Who is really OK with no rules against polluting? Selling off or drilling and mining in national parks and monuments? Working against renewable energy? And on and on... What a fucking nightmare. But what do I know?
  5. Spins and instability are fun if you can get out of it. I don't know if I could get out of it in a big suit, if it got really out of hand, but I do know how to get out of it before that happens. The way I got there was by flying the heck out of an intro suit with free arms. Lots of solos just to get into and out of trouble. Then the same thing with an intermediate suit. By the time I got a big one, it was kind of instinctive how to fly out of trouble quickly. There are probably faster and better ways to get there, but I didn't have a lot of help available, and it was fun. It worked out well for me in confidence and stability at least. But what do I know?
  6. Wow, it looks so easy. Me, I want thicker cushions. Even then I'd probably come out with my wingsuit around my ears. But what do I know?
  7. I was not ready at 106 either, and really expected to have to wait till 200. However, a ws guy checked me out in my tracking suit and said I could do it, and I'm glad I did. I was also glad I had paid for coaching to learn tracking more quickly. After my first 50 jumps, ws was my focus. It was not particularly easy for me, and my bucket of luck got lower for the first flights; I did have a cutaway on ws jump 5, so what can I say? I just can't say that things would have been any different with another 50 jumps. Yes, my first flights were not great, but they probably wouldn't have been anyway, and, in spite of some hilarious and horrible events, I did survive, and never got hurt either. I only started jumping to fly in a wingsuit, and only ever tried freeflying once, and didn't like it. Loved tracking, so I guess I did atmonati. To be honest, I don't like skydiving that much, and only ever did it to fly. After getting my first wingsuit I think I only ever did 1 or 2 jumps without one. This is not to argue with you, as I'd have to say you're right about everything, it's just that it is possible to not fit in the box, like me, and still have fun and not kill anybody. Peace But what do I know?
  8. First jump at 56. I wanted to fly in a wingsuit. It was not too late for me. I did shut it down at 63 though, after getting injured in a zip line accident. Should have stuck to skydiving... But what do I know?
  9. ~165 jumps, no cutaways for first flight. ~200 - first cutaway, with ws. No problem. ~400 - start jumping with camera WS Deployment is more complicated and some beginners can have problems with line twists, etc. Cameras can make things worse so don't use one with a ws until you get good at deploying. Cameras increase risk anyway, entanglement for sure, but distraction can be a problem too. You get better video from your friend's camera anyway. But what do I know?
  10. I looked at it. What about this one? See any trends here? But what do I know?
  11. Are you kidding? Is it really possible that a person in 2017 can will themselves deaf and blind enough to not see the changes we have made to this planet in the last, what, 20 years? Better yet, go back further; I can remember 1957, the year I became an amateur environmentalist, or tree hugger if you like. I saw with my own, (watery,) eyes, and smelled and choked on the air in Los Angeles that year, and it made a Believer out of me. I know that man can damage the air. And the rivers, and the lakes, and the land, and the oceans themselves. Yes, it was a city, not a planet, I know. I don't care! The lesson was there to see and I saw it. If we did that to the whole planet, we would die. There were about 3B humans then. The way I see it, we have been doing our best to turn the whole world into that ever since. In the 1970's and 80's people started catching on, which was soon followed by a major effort to mislead and confuse by those few who stood to profit from burning oil. And now we have a lot of people that deny what is right in front of their eyes. Look at the Artic! Notice it's water and not ice? People in Alaska sure as heck know something is going on. Try checking some weather data: High temp records are broken every time you look. How many record highs are there where you live that are dated before 2000? Where I live we have had a 100 year flood, a 500 year flood, and a 1,000 year flood in the last 3 years But yeah, my neighbor thinks it's all normal, so there's that. If his prediction that we won't see another flood for 20 years comes true I'll be sure to let you know. Oh well. The sad thing for me is that I think we missed our chance to fix this a long time ago... tipping points, and all that... And yet you are here to mock people like me. But to give you my answer to how I think this is related to climate change: Yes, I think a warmer planet can expect more of this, and a lot more in the years to come, thanks to human pollution. I hope I'm wrong. I hope we don't flood for 20 years. We'll see. But what do I know?
  12. Yep, and it's raining in Texas as predicted. Note, this is the biggest rain event the weather service has ever predicted. Odd how many things are happening now that never happened before. I don't use climate change or global warming since the atmosphere is mostly invisible and warming is too. I say planet change, and on a scale obvious to everyone. So much of the planet has been changed by humans in just the last 100 years why doubt that the invisible stuff has changed too? If there is doubt, check the measured changes in co2, methane, and other gases. Check what is happening to the oceans. This is our doing, and it's not getting better. But what do I know?
  13. That Trump condones ignoring the rule of law if it aligns with his agenda. Trump condones racism if it aligns with his (racist,) agenda. The message to his supporters is to keep the faith. To everybody else, fuck you, you're not a 'real' American anyway. That's my take on it. But what do I know?
  14. You're right, cameras are so much more a part of life now. Not that long ago they were more trouble than they were worth, even for stills. It wasn't too hard to convince someone to not bring a bulky pos camera along on many activities then, but now it's different. Like it or not, people expect pics and videos of everything now, so I expect more cams in skydiving in the future. Heck, what are we going to do with the rules when everyone has a lens mounted in their forehead? They have stuff now that can easily be hidden in eyeglasses or shirt buttons. This argument is getting obsolete. But what do I know?
  15. Not me. In normal flight descent rate is about 50 mph, so why would that activate an AAD? In fact, it is possible to fly any AAD into the ground. In some cases, a ws will cause a slow descent even if you're not flying, ie: spinning like a frisbee. A ws AAD is set to activate at a lower descent rate, like a student model, thus it is not good for swooping or big turns. I never saw much need for it, but some do I guess. But what do I know?
  16. Yep, free for me, unbreakable, clear or tinted safety glasses work just fine. The more expensive models are more durable and stylish. http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/pyramex-intruder-safety-glasses-with-gray-lens/ But what do I know?
  17. Sanders. I'm looking forward to voting FOR somebody, really, the first time in my life. BTW, I started out voting against Nixon. But what do I know?
  18. Sponsored by Budweiser! Tailgating in the parking lot! What could go wrong? But what do I know?
  19. If it has nothing to do with Al Gore, why did YOU bring him up, then gossip about his choice of home? I suspect it goes like this: I don't like Algore, therefore, climate change is a hoax. What that lacks in logic, it makes up for in effectiveness, I admit. But what do I know?
  20. You don't like Al Gore, fine; I don't like the Koch brothers. Their message is what we should be looking at. I believe the deiners are funded by those that profit most from burning carbon, and that most scientists are convinced that we are headed for big trouble, not if, but when. Are you aware that to balance the small percentage of real scientists, (if there are any,) that think this isn't happening, there is a growing fringe that is saying things could be much worse, much sooner, than the main bunch are. I don't know who's right, but with human life itself at stake, I'm alarmed already. "That doesn't mean that we are at a point of no return, or a point of no reasonable management." What if you're wrong about that? What if we are running out of time, right now? But what do I know?
  21. What percentage of reputable qualified scientists do you think would say that the earth is warming due to man's activities? You think 97% is a false number, but must agree that a significant amount of the scientific community do agree, so what's your guess as to how many it really is? I did ask you this before, guess you missed it. But what do I know?
  22. Thank you for sharing your experience. I can appreciate your perspective of it, from the trees, so to speak, rather than the forest. I am a vet myself (70-72,) I dispute your opinion that we could have prevailed in viet nam had we tried harder. As in Afganistan, and Iraq, we were doomed from the start, and the only way to win would be unacceptable to the world. We always had the ability kill every last person in Viet Nam, Afganistan, and Iraq, and we would have, had we really needed to, now wouldn't we? So sorry, but the view from the trees is that it was all for naught. Your friends and mine died for nothing. We lost, but didn't. I think if we had put our money on making America better, that would have been money better spent. I am very disappointed that the lessons of viet nam were ignored. But what do I know?
  23. This must be a major disappointment for you cause now you cant use it to push your agenda http://apnews.myway.com/article/20151024/tropical_weather-69affcf496.html Why not? My agenda still has another data point to add to the pile of evidence that most people see. Not you, I guess, but you could have a more positive attitude about this subject. Most of my earnings were soaked with oil, yet I still want to see alternative energy and a cleaner environment. Obviously you don't agree that 97% of scientists agree that human activity is warming the planet. What percentage would you say then? But what do I know?
  24. I don't know what kind of bet would work, if you come up with one let me know. On the 97% issue, what number do you think would be more accurate? 90%? 75? What's your guess? Scientists that think: 1. The planet is warming. 2. Human activities are causing it. Maybe it's not 97%, I don't know, but it sounds about right to me. Regardless, a lot of smart people have been doing a lot of study on the issue, and a lot of them say we are in trouble if we don't do something. I'd like to know what percentage of them you think don't agree, and why you choose to side with them, rather than the many for whom the issue is not even an issue any more? But what do I know?
  25. Hmmm. The time you were off here for a month was refreshingly BS free; want to go for another one? 2 to 1 odds. You bet one, me for 2. I think the results will be obvious, but if necessary, decided by a poll? Decision date, election day 2016. Are you in? But what do I know?
