  1. Lake Placid, NY...nowhere near Cali...
  2. haha...are you sure "seven days" wasn't in that message...sounds like a creepy preminission (spelling was never my strongpoint) to me
  3. holy shit man thats absurd...it's stayed the same for me since i finished AFF ($22 to 12000') at VSA in Vermont though...the sport has become a business in most places and that's just what happens unfortunately
  4. It's amazing to me (being a beginner) how you can withstand 7grand of line twists...also, I learned a lot from that small clip so thanks and blue skies
  5. He clearly touched the ball...you can watch his thumb move...what an idiot...guess he thought it to be intentional grounding though
  6. yeah everyone knows its fake now but i dont think they fake him jumping out of a plane and free falling (even hanging from the strut and all)...unless thats just not him at all...the best was when he landed in trees but somehow the cameraman managed to dodge them
  7. I'm sure some people have seen this show on the discovery channel but has anyone here jumped with this guy? (This guy being Bear Grylls)
  8. thats too funny...red hills huh? You shouldn't smoke right before bed (haha)
  9. Are they really that bored...plus it wasn't that funny anyways...being pushed out of a caravan in a cardboard box? Now that's funny. At least they had a disclaimer at the end
  10. Would this affect fall rate? I mean logically speaking he would float way above the other divers, wouldn't he?
  11. I wouldn't say that it happens often, however there are several articles online. Here's the best one I found: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16313217/?GT1=8816
  12. I don't think that skydiving should be stressful at all, but sometimes it happens. I'm still a new guy but have participated in group skydives before and they were fun if not the most fun I've had. Seeing all those people flying next to you in the air is amazing and actually relaxes me. After all, the point is to have fun right? Blues.
  13. yep just farms...but we have the adirondack mountains of new york on one side of the lake and the green mountains of vermont on the other side...better than any walmart I've ever seen
  14. Breif discussion before a hop-n-pop over Lake Champlain...got picked up in a sailboat (which was planned) after the coast guard thought a plane crashed haha
  15. I'm also a recently new jumper and purchased a rig from these classifieds...glad I did. Not only is it not worth it to buy new gear but the canopy will be hard as hell to pack
  16. Not much of a choice living in Vermont haha...its more than worth it though
  17. I think that I will always be a student in a sport like this but if your jumping somewhere where the other's are treating you like a "noobie" then your jumping at the wrong place
  18. yeah my friend and i were thinking about it...just wanted some questions answered first
  19. ok then in relation to the first question, how hard is it to get out of a "normal" cessna door? (the one's that open out)...like a 182 or a 205 that you could rent from any local airport
  20. to make the door open up instead of out...
  21. Is there any easy way to rig the door on a Cessna or is it mainly a shop job?
  22. I've been jumping at VSA since the completion of my AFF course and there is never a dull moment. Staff goes above and beyond to help you and are all about the students. If your looking for a place without "cliques" or huge ego's, VSA is the place to go.
