I agree that people shouldn't skydive for the wrong reasons, but their reasons are their's, not mine. While I will tell someone I disagree with skydiving to impress someone else (e.g.), I wouldn't ground them because I don't like their reason unless their reason was a death wish. The vast majority of jumpers quit jumping at some point, some before getting an A-license, some after making a few dozen to a couple hundred jumps, some after making a couple thousand. For the rest of their lives, skydiving will be something they look back on, not forward to. How we instruct and treat them while they're jumping will play a large part in what kind of memories stick with them. So my county just switched to completely mail-in elections. I just got my first ballot in the mail today. One thing I didn't know about these is that the envelopes in which we have to send them back in require postage. It says in very clear words in the voting instructions that without proper postage, my vote won't be counted. Yeah, it's only $0.36 per election, but does anyone else see it as a taxation on voting? Is it right for the government to charge a fee, regardless of how nominal, for the privilege/right to vote? I haven't really thought it through yet, but I'm leaning towards thinking it's wrong. Yup. Barring significant winds on tandem jumps, I can fly the entire perimter of town under canopy and still make it back to the DZ. Yeah, I've been to Stevensville in the past, as well as LP, and I agree that the scenery is western MT is awesome. FYI when you eventually get back...the Spokane DZ (West Plains) is growing up. I think it's spelled "condescending". Also, while it is absolutely possible to listen to someone without looking at them, it still *appears* that you're ignoring them.
