Hah hah... I started the download before heading out to run some errands. Eventually got the whole thing only to find out it won't work with Windows 98. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

It's like an 18 meg download ain't it? With my 56k dial-up service, there's no way you'll see me on the map tonight. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

7777ale. Since it's got Paypal's Buyer Protection program (and something else calling him a "SquareTrade Seller"), it doesn't matter if he still has the funds in his PayPal account does it? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Yeah, he got feedback 575 times and it was 98.3% positive. I passed on a guy selling the same computer for a little less money who only had like 30 (positive) comments. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Jumping at a DZ that requires an AAD
livendive replied to Gravitymaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't have an AAD but am planning on putting one in my rig in the near future for AFF jumps. My opinion on AAD-mandatory DZ's won't change though, i.e. I will not jump at a DZ that requires them for anything other than student jumps. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" So I've only bought things off of Ebay a couple times, and it always gives me the jitters that the benefit of the doubt goes to the seller (payment must be received before item will be shipped). Still, things have so far worked out well and I've gotten things that either were difficult/impossible to find elsewhere or that were at a substantial discount compared to elsewhere. Anyhow, last Thursday I did a "Buy It Now" thing on a computer. Before exercising that option, I'd sent a message to the seller asking about accessories included with the machine. He got back to me within an hour. Now it's been 5 days since I PayPal'd him $830, and he hasn't responded to either of the messages I've sent him asking about shipping details (tracking number), and I'm migrating from the jitters to downright suspicion. What's the longest you've had to wait to hear back from a seller on something you'd bought? At what point should I start thinking about a next step? What should that next step be? THE TRUE COLORS OF NEW ORLEANS COPS -LOSERS
livendive replied to JoeyRamone's topic in Speakers Corner
Nicely put and I agree, but then make the adder a separate law based on expectations of duty, rather than more time for the same offense. And I agree with that (making it a separate law). Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -

I agree that outrage and surprise shouldn't figure into the punishment, but I absolutely believe that wearing a uniform while committing a crime should trigger additional punishment. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
It was a paraphrase of a code of ethics handed out at the Air Force Chaplain School that included the statement "I will not proselytize from other religious bodies, but I retain the right to evangelize those who are not affiliated." Although not actually Air Force policy, it could certainly be mistaken for it, given the setting in which it was delivered. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

The 2004 Red Sox had it. Trailing 0-3 to the Yankees and then racking up 8 in a row. The friend I road-tripped with this weekend and I were talking sports, and last year came up. He aptly pointed out that Schilling's sock had nowhere to go but straight from his foot to the hall of fame. Agreed. Santana bucked up and pitched his ass off. I don't know if it was true confidence or just the cockiness of youth, but it was most excellent. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

I was at that game, still gives me goose bumps. And yes, FUCK the yankees! "...and there's a line drive base hit down the left field line! Here comes Joey, here's junior to third, they're gonna wave him in, and the throw to the plate will be...not in time! The Mariner's are going to play for the american league championship! I don't believe it. It just continues. My oh my!" As a lifelong Mariner, Seahawk, Supersonic, and Husky fan, there's been no greater sports moment. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" And it STILL hasn't been explained....why? What kind of explanation are you looking for? I agree that climbing the drogue bridle is ridiculous, and I'd be kicking the shit out of anyone who did that to me, but I don't think the exit looks like death on a stick. Actually, it does. In the latest revision, the FAA added the word "direct" preceding supervision. This is to clarify that the rigger isn't just supposed to available, but actually supervising. "(a) The main parachute must have been packed within 120 days before the date of its use of a certificated parachute rigger, the person making the next jump with that parachute, or a non-certificated person under the direct supervision of a certification parachute rigger." Randy "the Big Unit" Johnson now has 3 career relief appearances: 1995 ALDS Game 5 versus the Yankees - Mariners win 2001 WS Game 7 versus the Yankees - Diamondbacks win 2005 ALDS Game 5 with the Yankees - Angels win One thing happens when Randy pitches in relief, the Yankees lose. Fuck the Yankees, and fuck George Steinbrenner! Randy is THE MAN!!!!
