  1. I can introduce you. Jackets like that should be outlawed Wait. That's not Shannon. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

  3. Bite me. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  4. I'll go with #2 as well. For a mammal theme: 1. I've had a porpoise brush against me while I was skinny-dipping. 2. In fourth grade, I helped dissect a dolphin and personally removed its brain. 3. I've been charged at, and then splashed by, a humpback whale. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" 5. 2 Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  6. Are the results really all that surprizing, given that most of the people who voted were likely straight, white, males? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  7. And therein lies the point of contention. Not everyone goes to the DZ just to skydive. I don't know if your girlfriend skydives, but if she does not, does she ever go to the DZ with you? Why? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  8. I gave you what I thought was a compelling reason. Sometimes people want to hang out and skydive with people who they have more in common with than skydiving as a hobby. In this case, there appears to be an interest in hanging out with people who may share similar experiences regarding their sexual orientation. At Chute & Shoot, it was people who had similar interests in shooting guns. There have been CSA events in the past for christians, events for hispanics, events for women, events for older people, events for ANCIENT people, events for deaf people, etc, etc. Who cares?! If you want to hang out with people who have some certain thing in common, hang out with them. If you don't, don't. It really is that simple. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" 9. That's a great idea. Maybe we could get Dave Ruckert to organize it. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  10. Yes, but when I hit a blackjack, he pays 1.5x. When he hits a blackjack, I only pay 1x. That helps me doesn't it? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  11. I don't know if dollars/cents per hour will be as comparable as percent per hour/month/year. If you and someone who makes twice what you do both get 5% raises, their raise will be twice as many dollars/cents per hour. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  12. I do that, too!!! That's not OCD, it's just good hygiene after seeing all the people that touch that handle *without* washing their hands first. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  13. Why has this thread not been moved to the Women's Forum already??! Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  14. I imagine legstraps are less comfortable for men, chest straps less comfortable for women. Women seem to generally be more flexible, and men generally stronger, both of which have fallrate effects (women can speed up more easily, men can slow down more easily...both good things given average density differences). Women are generally not as prone to "showing off" and typically make better listeners, thus better students. I've maintained for awhile now that women seen more naturally suited for both training and "average" skydiving and ought to excel over their male peers. In RW and CRW competitions, I think strength *might* become more of an issue, but I'm just guessing at that (I've never trained for or been in a real competition). I think men will typically have an advantage as TI's, but not so much as AFF-I's. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  15. That's my idea of fun gambling. I try to hold myself to house rules unless it's something too stupid (i.e. I rarely double down, split, or stay on less than 17). This pisses the other players off, but I ain't there for them. I usually end up about even, and I get to drink for free and be a general pain in the ass the entire time. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  16. And this is why it keeps only happening to you in your dreams. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  17. Just cuz she's an ole lady doesn't mean she can't at least occasionally speak the truth! Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  18. I kind of misread the question and answered based on where I'd send someone to learn to skydive, not after they're off student status. Off student status, you should just try both a couple times and see which you like more. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  19. So take it back. If you and like-minded individuals put rainbows on your cars just because you think they look cool, eventually people won't know what a rainbow on a car means. Personally, I wouldn't put one on my car regardless of what people will think. I thought rainbows looked kinda gay long before I knew of any "social assocation." 20. I guess my answer is kind of like your's with a bit of Shotgun's thrown in. Boogies are frequently about commonality. I like Lost Prairie. Do you know what I like about it? It's not just the view, it's not the weather, and it's not the airplanes. It's that it involves people that I want to hang out with and jump with...who are there for the same reason as me. That doesn't state it as clearly as I'd like, but basically what I'm getting at is that I KNOW there will be people there who share my interest in whooping it up in certain manners. I can understand women wanting to spend time boogying with other women, gays with other gays, hispanics with other hispanics, deaf jumpers with other deaf jumpers, etc. Sometimes, we want to be around people who we have more in common with than just skydiving as a hobby. Sometimes we don't...that's when I take off alone to a new DZ or boogie and see what the people are like there. PJ - I think what it boils down to is that boogies are not just about the skydiving. They're also about people. Sometimes we go to a particular event so we can do certain types of skydiving. Other times we go so we can skydive with certain types of people. I'm cool with either type, even though I may not be interested in all of them. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  21. That is about the coolest thing I've ever heard! Not that I'd want to actually have it happen to me. But it would sure make a cool dream... maybe if I think about it hard enough before falling asleep I can make myself dream it tonight... Personally, I classify dreams that involve me getting the sh!t kicked out of me by large hailstones while unable to get away from them as "nightmares". Also, Jack was "arrested" for not releasing the nerve gas as ordered. An American guy named Nathanson called Audrey and had her put him in touch with Jack. Jack then escaped custody and went and met Nathanson, getting a computer chip from him before Nathanson was killed by the Russians. Back at CTU, the hobbit guy realized Buchanon and Audrey were working together to help Jack (but perhaps doesn't know Chloe's helping them) and had Buchanon taken into custody. The data on the computer chip was encoded with some DOD encryption that only Audrey has access to, and we don't yet know what it entails. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" 25. And here I thought you'd gotten to know me. It turns out you must not have yet. I'll have to rectify that problem. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
