Some people seem to have a hard time adapting to the digital age and what is Approbiate behavior. Reminds me of X congressman Weiner. This may be the new normal, or just a adjustment period. FWIW I didn't look at your link of the dude. Scary stuff, are these peeps just the left side of the bell curve. Or the middle. One Jump Wonder

Good luck with THAT! I jumped my Pap a few years back...a 7.6 on the Richter was reported 40 miles away! Had my Frenchies on thank God...did a textbook PLF but STILL had a hitch in my git a long for 3 weeks...couldn't believe I use to STAND that thing up! Best I can figure...it shrunk to about half the original size in the closet...same thing happened to all the old skydiving tee shirts I have in there... Funny thing about all those old tee shirts, they shrink just hanging in the closet without even washing them Might have something to do with all those missing socks. It the closet theory. Buy everything Tee shirt XXX large and a pair of socks should be sold with a spare. Your landing, no problem

Hi Doug First I heard about he rush to build but I don't doubt it If you look at some of the aerial maps you can see where there is a larger area already sub platted for a lot more houses. The downturn in the housing market probably saved some lives Who's telling the truth about full disclosure? That's one of the good things about the real estate industry. If the homeowners were told about the risk of slide mountain doing what it did, "sometime in the future" it should be in their paper work. Based on my past employment with the Corps any repairs after the previous slide that were made were done on a emergency basis. Not the Corps fault its the way they are funded and their scope of work for emergency flooding. In the PNW they get called out every year for flooding on the same rivers. Either way still won't bring back one lost soul. One Jump Wonder

Before St Helens blew its top, there was plenty of warning. So most of the folks got out of dodge. This slide in the OSO area was a surprise to a lot of people. After weeks of rain in was a beautiful sunny day, a contributing factor was that it happened at 11 AM on a Saturday. If it had happened during the week a lot of people would have been at work or school, so the death toll would have been a lot lower. Still traumatic for the survivors but their would have been a lot more of them. Wrong place at the wrong time Of course after the grieving there will be plenty of time for the I told you so folks, and the lawyers. The folks that live in that area are a hardy bunch not sure how they will take to the some suits moving in, trying to help make them whole. Its not going to bring back their loved ones. If you watch the real life police shows on the telly, the detective work reported in the beast is the new normal for the po po. CCTV: is everywhere the cops canvas the neighbor hood then radiate out. To check out the other CCTV's Cell phone records: almost everyone has one, and has them turned on. 3am in lower Manhattan Without video It didn't happen, got to have a go pro. Po Po get a search warrant and secure the computers of the suspects. Donating the profits to the 911 victims after 4 lawyers fee's etc. Is a nice touch. Nice jump just not very well planned getaway. We can only hope that the list of MIA's drops significantly due to duplication. Never thought a slide could be this extensive. One Jump Wonder

I used to dream about owning one of those, back in the day. Even the bungee's were different. Couldn't afford a new one, never saw a used one for sale/trade. I did own a stereo, that I would have been happy to trade for. One Jump Wonder

Hi AJ Great pic, looks like a vertical face. I hope we have a geologist on here that can explain what we're looking at. The trees left at the middle of the top of the picture look like their young, the surrounding tree's are tall but small dia. It will be interesting to find out the history of the logging activities in the area. But all that doesn't mean squat right now, I'm seeing lots of pain for the families and loved ones that are lost. A reminder to live every day like it's our last. One Jump Wonder

Hi AJ Go figure the weather was so nice yesterday, then this. So far 4 dead and more than a dozen missing. The stories of the folks missing is real sad, a plumber and his helper were replacing a hot water tank, wrong place at the wrong time Grandpa went to store to pick up some groceries, came back and everyone was gone Tuesday its supposed to start raining off and on for another week. No telling whats going to happen to the river. One Jump Wonder

Never mind that, what about toe cheese? Toe jam? Foot rot? Dry skin? Dried doggie poo? Kitty Poo? YUCH! Best- Richard Once upon a time we started to attend a boogie in montana before it got "discovered". That was the second time we witnessed the toe sucking events inthe bar at night. Some of the women were into it, and some were not. Some of the wonen that weren't into it said they walked thru a fresh cow patty on the way to the bar. I wasnt into toe sucking so I just took their word for it. But I never saw a toe sucker turn down a set of toes because they were dusty, smelled like shit. Thats might be why the sucker uses beer as a lubricant, or disinfectant. I nevejr asked. But I do have video, we personally shot of the event. Sorry no one's going to see the video, for obvious reasons. So don't even go there. Believe what you want. BTW never witnessed a women sucking on a dudes toes. One Jump Wonder

Hi 999 I think it was a vombo of both, regional & SAT. We were jumping in KS, the sinker just didn't make any sense. We never heard about the rubber band option. Maybe Twardo is big enough to pull the rubber bands thru the ripcord housing, but........ I wonder if he ever tried it. No unrealistic expectations here, I was a wimp and doubt I would have been able to do it. One Jump Wonder

Spooky First someone locks your sleeve with a stick and have to go to plan b. Then your test jumping someone else's gear and you have to go to plan b twice. With friend like that you don't nened enemy's. We were jumping some "different" gear where the main ripcord was just a little to short. We exited for some RW. Oops the main came out at 7.5 or 9.5, to lazy to look it up. Didnt lose the ripcord since it never got pulled, But it was a long ride down. Lucky for us the winds aloft were zero. Could have used a book to read on the way down. Time for my nap. One Jump Wonder
