“He’s just a very interesting, interesting guy,” the FBI agrees
Krip replied to SoCalJumper's topic in The Bonfire
Chasing money is what they're doing. Auction off the items off that no one claims, fine the guy for your work, justify your paycheck and bring in some dough for a money-hungry government agency. Taking into consideration the cost of the investigation it will exceed any money collected. Some times people and the government will spend a dollar to save a dime The collector is over 90 yo, I can hear lots of I don't remember Time to take my nap. I think One Jump Wonder -
Legal to jump base gear from heli?
Krip replied to potatoman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Whats the penalty for the jumpers? Death I can imagine a defense attorney claiming the the jumpers exited before the pilot reached the legal base exit point. Buy I'm not a lawyer, a base wingsuit prox jumper, or a pilot. I'm not even a jumper anymore. Just old. One Jump Wonder -

Robert I'm sure at the beginning of this thread, it was started with the best intentions. But take a deep breath try and look at the last X number of pages objectively and I hope you can see that the DB Cooper thread has turned into a train wreck. Not my place to say that its a waste of bandwidth, but now it is what it is. One Jump Wonder

***Right so... you're asking a group of people who are *paying in* to the insurance you're asking about if you can lie and basically steal their money. Do you get that? Never mind that you don't understand what the insurance is for... It's a douche move. ETA: Everyone here understands what "re injure" myself means. Seriously. If you were on the up-and-up, you wouldn't be mentioning the MC accident.[/ quote] Some douche bags would get injured playing on the weekend, show up for physical work on monday morning and try to claim a on the job injury, Soon after starting work. Drs could usually tell it wasn't a fresh injury. Dude your FIRED. One Jump Wonder

Did our Jim Hooper write 100 Feet Over Hell?
Krip replied to riggerrob's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia

Yesterday the news people were reporting where structures where involved the search crews would take the homes down to the foundation looking for remains. The news people also reported if the dogs and search crews can't locate any remains in the piles of muck. The remains may have to be interred in place and the area turned into a memorial. This is based on local news and I assume that the surviving family members will have some input on the final decision. One Jump Wonder

I gave my son (a freshman in college now) an old Mirror Image T-Shirt when they were "All Out" back in the day. He has no idea what he's wearing, and I doubt he'll ever meet anyone who does... I think thats a good thing for both of you One Jump Wonder

If You Could Summer Anywhere Where Would You Go?
Krip replied to LuckyMcSwervy's topic in The Bonfire
yep sure is. Except the traffic. I highly recommend the ferry rides to beat the traffic to all the second timers. And ecourage them to wear shorts and t shirts so they can enjoy the ride on the deck. One Jump Wonder -

Matteew'S boss does have a point since he is self employed. Maybe the wife will allow him to jump again if he gets a Million Dollar insurance policy that covers: disability, liability, death. Marriage is all about love and compromise. Good luck.

Was the super pro reserve the one that had the option of a side pull or a verticle pull reserve handle.? Saw a comercial on the telly the other day USAA and a airborne soldier stands up his big round canopy and his belly wart had a vertical pull shiny reserve handle. Hard to miss. One Jump Wonder
