LOL! That was a blast, wasn't it? Dusty was a hoot! Every 4-way team needs someone with that kind of attitude. The guy brought the entire hangar at Eloy to a standstill because he was cheering for us so loudly when we were being judged on the big screen. Seriously, though, it was worth every penny spent to hear a die-hard free-flyer scream "4-way ROCKS!" in the plane on round 6. I don't know if this is the right forum, if it isn't, please feel free to move it. Is there ANYONE in the southwestern US who is planning on holding a USPA Coach certification course anytime soon? The "rating courses" section of this month's Parachutist is pathetic, and the only upcoming coach course listed is in Z-hills in December. Anyone? Please? We have a couple of folks (myself included) who are really interested in taking the course, but none of us can afford to go to Florida. If not, anybody know of any course directors I can contact? Thanks. Andi Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

coaching, both in the tunnel and in skills camps. I really thought I could fly. HA! Best investment ever. The way I look at the tunnel is that even though it costs so much, it really works out to costing about $10 a jump...and that would be considered cheap at any DZ! Nice to see that the best racing is in the lead. Motorcycle roadracing is definitely the most exciting of all. As a matter of fact, I'd like to take this opportunity to brag on my husband...see the attached picture. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

indyz is right. You have the same exact chance each time you play the lottery, no matter what numbers you play. For example: flip a coin. you have a 50/50 chance to get heads. if you flip a coin 100 times, and they ALL come up heads, you STILL have a 50/50 chance of getting heads on the 101st flip. Same with the lottery. The ONLY way to increase your odds of winning is to buy more tickets. As far as I'm concerned, the lottery is a tax on the poor. Put your dollar a day into an IRA or mutual fund. Say that's $30 a month. If your investment has a 12% rate of return and you start at age 21, you'll have approximately $1 million by the time you retire (assuming you retire at 65). Now THAT'S much better odds. And a helluva lot of jump tickets! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

I just acquired a Jedei Fat Top, and I really love it. I was told that it was probably the closest iteration of the Jedei to a Samurai's flight characteristics. The flare is really natural to me, like I don't even have to think about it. Some other canopies I've flown, like a Sabre2, Spectre, and even the Stiletto, I really have to concentrate on flaring correctly. With the Jedei, it's second nature. good luck! The Jedei is a great canopy! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Well, I clicked the closest answer. I bought my system new, but have since replaced the original canopy with a used canopy. So I'm the first owner of my reserve and container, and the 2nd owner of my main. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Why not just start with one extra forum, entitled "Local Events" or some such thing? That's where boogie notices, outer-Mongolia DZ.com BBQ's, and other news could be posted. As long as the rules for the forum stated that any new thread have the name of the region or locale in the thread title, I think it would work. That way, the Talkback forum could remain the gathering place, and the Local Events forum could be like the dz.com "bulletin board" for all the upcoming events. It would cut down on the sheer number of forums, and keep those announcements in one place. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Blah...screw all of ya! Of course, I suppose it was our choice to buy a house out in the mountains. No DSL, no cable, and shitty phone lines. And satellite is too expensive. My dial-up at home is currently connecting at 24600. No online gaming for me. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Damn, I feel like an old-timer. Anyone else find it amazing that there are over 25,000 D-licenses floating around? We've got a guy at our DZ who is D-412 Andi D-18644 Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

1:3:0 Saturday wa shitty weather that kept me at home, but Sunday I made 3 jumps, including one with our "mobile DZ"... Uh, we land off the airport, anyway, and the van driver who brings us back had a flag, and there were clouds over the regular DZ... gordo's like a little kid! You doing the skills camp in a couple of weeks? I'll be there the last 4 days. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

I've done both. It really depends on your goals, I think. I did the skills camp first, and it really highlighted some problems I had with body flying, so I did the tunnel camp. I'm going back to a skills camp in a couple of weeks to see how it's paid off. I think if you really want to concentrate on body flight, the tunnel is the way to go. If you want to work on formation skydiving, then it's got to be a skills camp. They are really worth the money, and one 4-way with a top-notch coach across the formation from you will teach you more about eye-contact and cross-referencing than you would probably learn your entire skydiving career otherwise. I do the Airspeed camps, but there are plenty of others out there. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

I have it on very good authority that there will be plenty of fun little "easter eggs" on the DVD.... I can't wait! Can you see me now? Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

have you just walked down the strip yet? Seriously, I could spend days in Vegas and never say "hit me" once. Some of those places are absolutely incredible to just wander around in. Vegas is the greatest place for people watching. IF you hurry, you can go see the "Art of the Motorcycle" at the Guggenheim Las Vegas in the Venetian...it's really cool. Or just go to the art museum at the Bellagio. Ride the roller coaster at New York New York. Take a date to the top of the Stratosphere. Go to the "zoo" at the MGM Grand. Ack! I wanna go! Ah, Michele, it's so GOOD to have you back!

I have the little 4-way donut decal on my rear window, an Air Force Academy alumni association sticker and a Sierra Club sticker on a side window, a Go Fast sticker under my little extra tail light, and across my back bumper I have the USPA sticker, Skydive New Mexico, OBX (Outer Banks), SkyVenture, and a Wings of Blue sticker. Do my base decals count? My car is bought and paid for, I can put as many stickers on there as I want! At least I don't put stupid reflective ones that say shit like "Princess" on there. Sorry for the AF lingo...LOL! Actually, that happened to me at Wright-Patterson. The OSI agent told me that they liked to target 2Lts and Secretaries. secretaries because they don't travel much, and 2Lts because they're dumbasses! I was slightly offended.
