Go to the SW website and change the flight! They won't give you a refund, but will credit your account to use for other tickets. And there is no fee...

Should women be mentally stable before getting married?
gemini replied to funks's topic in The Bonfire
Nah, it was tried by a guy in Toledo. Created the high maintenance complex. Every closet in their house is full of her clothes. She was heard to laugh and say "Is that all?" when the news reported Imelda Marcos had 1,000 pairs of shoes! Blue skies, Jim -
Should women be mentally stable before getting married?
gemini replied to funks's topic in The Bonfire
My theory is that they can be perfectly stable UNTIL the gold goes on their finger. Then a reaction starts in their bloodstream that I suspect is caused by the gold. Within 6 months this condition causes them to become convinced that hubby needs to be remolded into the man they want him to be, that hubby is really their overgrown child and should be treated as one, and that he will enjoy "shopping" with them on both Sat and Sunday! Should women be financially stable before getting married?
gemini replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
Absolutely! In fact both should be. With divorce rates at 50% in the US , you'd be crazy not to have financial independence. Even if you are one of the lucky few to be happily married something could happen to your spouse. If he/she were the sole source of income you might be out on the street... pun intended Blue skies, Jim -
That's great! ....and I'm a CPA... Actually I remembered one more and forgot to change the first line... Blue skies, Jim

Mine was definitely an out-of-trim problem that I knew about and pushed for to long. Blue skies, Jim -
Be interesting to see if others nearby ran when police yelled to stop. We have had a series of problems in Houston where people run from the police and then are injured either by the police or their own mistake during the chase. Even had a regular duty policeman kill a reserve policeman who was chasing a suspect in civilian clothes with a drawn pistol. When the regular cop yelled stop, the reserve cop turned with the gun in his hand. Except for the above instance, it seems like all the other "suspects" had some reason for running other than just being scared. If you run, my feeling is you are implying that you did something. I feel sorry when any life is lost by accident or mistake, but if you run you are limiting your chances dramatically. We all make mistakes. Unfortunately in police work, parachuting, etc. some mistakes cost lives. Doesn't mean the person(s) involved wanted to take a life, planned to take a life, started out the day saying "I'm gona' take someone's life today." Blue skies, Jim

Eric, I'm always ready to jump with you when you want to do a RW jump or a hybrid. I'll round up the others we need! -
I had 4 childhood dreams that I can remember. 1. Flying 2. Being a soldier 3. Playing Football 4. Being a doctor 5. Be a dad When I was small. I always had dreams when sleeping of flying. No plane, just me and the wind. When I did my first freefall, it all came back to me and is exactly what I had dreamed. When about 11 or 12, I would see listings in Boys Life for military schools. I always thought that would be great; maybe even go to West Point. Unfortunately, I was not the best student so at the ripe old age of 18 in 1967, I enlisted for Infantry Airborne. Somehow passed some tests that were noticed, got pulled out of the normal enlistment track and later went to Infantry OCS at Ft Benning, GA. Being small in those Jr High days (90 lbs), I played on the football special teams till 9th grade. Then at the great weight of 130 lbs, I became a first team cornerback and third team fullback. Stayed with those positions through High School. The last year, I actually became the rover which in our defense was a cornerback who could move between the guard and tackle, or the tackle and end at will. It was a great year! As a senior in High School I did volunteer work at the county emergency room. Got trained and worked as a ambulance driver/medic in the pre-EMS days. My wife is an MD, so that's the closest I got to the Dr thingy. The summer I was back from Vietnam, I crashed a girl's slumber party and met a girl who 4 years later would become my wife. 2 years later Trent came along. Looks to me like I got everything!!!
