  1. Trent has a good one when people are yelling at him to get out. He will look back at them, take his helmet off, put his hand to one ear and say "What?" It gets really quiet....
  2. Tammi/Scotty, I was so sorry to hear about Herky. Hope he is healing well and not to traumatized by what happened. He's such a spunky, funny little guy I don't want him to ever change! Where was Tommy when all this was going on? Wish I was there to give him snacks like I got to do at Spacey when he was in his leg cast and post amputation healing. Give him a good scratch behind the ears for me! Blue skies, Jim

    Altimeters

Although I have not seen one in years, there was a brand that had a stop above 12K. I would suspect it could be damaged by going to higher altitudes since the pressure would cause the needle to push harder and harder on the stop pin. I have been to 30.5K with my 6 year old Altimaster and it works fine. Blue skies, Jim
  5. We're thinking of building a dog run at Spacey where they can sorta' run free, but stay in a controlled area with water and shade. Saw one in Washington Square in NY called George's Run that was very popular. Blue skies, Jim
  6. I think in Texas they put them in a pickup, leave the tailgate down, and then drive around the loop. Lots of them in pieces along the freeway! Mattresses too! Blue skies, Jim
  7. Hey Amanda, Alana & Justi, I think I would have to include the MILF incident at Dublin too! Blue skies, Jim
  8. Another thing to note is that hazy days and very clear days may change your perception a lot. The first time I jumped on a very clear day (could see the Gulf of Mexico to the South and IAH airport to the North. IAH is 52 miles from the DZ) I broke off at 4K and was tracking. When I looked down I thought "holy sh%#!" and deployed. Under canopy I looked at my alti and said "WTF?" Protrack said I opened almost 1k higher than normal. On the second jump I realized it was because the ground was very, very clear and a lot more details than normal were obvious from above. Blue skies, Jim
  9. Amen brother! My biggest regret is not being able to help those that fell near me! Second is the unkind word that seems to escape me when the brain is disengaged periodically. Blue skies, Jim

Format the cell for 24hr time in HH:MM:SS format. Then just add the cells you need as you usually do. The formatting will handle the 60 min/60 sec issues you have. Blue skies, Jim

  16. Did a hybrid 6 way several weeks ago with Anomaly. Turned 3 or 4 (I'm old ok?) points with hangers. Round, 2-side by side rounds, turn 180, dock to round, 2-side by side rounds, redock to round. Blue skies, Jim
  17. Damn I had a senior moment and fogot where I was! Sorry... Blue skies, Jim
  18. Umhhh, has something to do with both feet being strapped to a board. When you fall forward while going downhill, you land on your knees and head! So then you quickly learn to fall backwards and land on your butt (and the back of your head!) Blue skies, Jim

Mighty large group of people. What the hell, hang 'em all! Blue skies, Jim
  20. This thread brings up another used car warning... There are thousands of cars and trucks in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas that were flooded and will be totalled by insurance companies. Wholesale auto buyers will purchase these cars and marginally clean them up and put them back on the market. If your state does not require that totalled or flooded vehicles be so disclosed on the title, beware of any used vehicle purchase. They will look great and appear to fun fine; at first... 23. Being from an older generation, my role models outside skydiving were: My Dad Captain Kangaroo Dwight Eisenhower All the firemen at the station on the corner of the neighborhood and the main fire station downtown. 25. Hi All! Nationals are over and this years training season is coming to a close. A lot of you have been asking “When are we going to do some 40 Ways' Again?" Well, all you had to do was ask. Skydive Spaceland will host another 40 Way sequential weekend December 10th-11th, 2005. The Plan will be to make 14 jumps over the weekend: 8 dives on Saturday and 6 dives on Sunday. The cost will be $21.00 per jump. Our focus will be the same as we have done in the past, with intricate 1st points and challenging transitions. We will also “mix up” the exit orders every couple of jumps so everyone has the opportunity to float, dive, be in the base or go last. This is an invitational event. You must register for this event at http://www.texasstaterecord.com . You should update your personal histories while visiting the web site and then select the 2005 40-Way Sequential event to apply for this event. Your log-in User ID is your last name and your Password is your USPA D license number without the D or D-. The Captains will review your jump information and match jumpers with slots from the event applications. Invitations will be sent out on November 10th. So log in, sign up and plan on coming to Spaceland December 10th-11th for some great sequential 40 Ways’ and to get in the air with all your friends again. See you soon, Tom Jenkins and Skydive Spaceland Blue skies, Jim
