The Dates You Have Been Waiting For (SF06)
gemini replied to upndownshop's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I used to remember the serial number of my M14 too, but old age is catching up with me! Some things just get burned in after yelling them every morning for 12 weeks or whatever basic was in those days. One long blur most of the time. Blue skies, Jim -
Yep it happened on the load I was on. I landed and then they landed. Top guy slid off about 10 ft to a plf. I saw him get off the ground with his rig still packed and thought wtf? Later talked to both of them about how they did it (after the AFF got through talking to them!) Blue skies, Jim

RA1595288. Does that count? We've got at least three active GI's that regulary jump and a bunch of veterans at Spacey. Blue skies, Jim -

Just got an email from Trent. Looks like most have arrived safely, but a few are missing baggage. Let's hope everything is found and guys can concentrate on record jumps. Blue skies, Jim -

Good luck also to Trent and Stevie from Anomaly. Have a safe trip, good jumps and a lot of fun. Blue skies, Jim -
At higher altitudes (30K+) you will also need to arrive several hours early to start prebreathing oxygen. At the WFFC last summer we were up at 4 AM to begin suiting up at 5:30 AM with prebreathing starting at 6 AM for a 7-7:30 AM take-off. The rule was if you could not get your blood oxygen percentage up to 99-100% you were not allowed to make the jump. It was fun and a great experience, but a royal pain in the butt to be getting up when everyone else was just getting into bed. Blue skies, Jim

I agree that there are two many variables to give a general answer to this question. I wheigh 175 or 195 out the door and have a relaxed slow fall rate of 111-104. In a hard track I can slow to 83 vertical. Blue skies, Jim

Looks like it is really age dependent. Army picture = Che Guevera Avatar=Timothy Leary Most Recent = Harrison Ford My Dad = Caruso My Mom = Cristina Ricci in several different photos Thing is one of my aunts = J. Edgar Hoover with no other matches. Picture him in a dress! Blue skies, Jim

Age limit on Dropzone.com do you think there should be one?
gemini replied to pacncathyjr's topic in The Bonfire
Then packncathyjr qualifies. I saw her lugging her "brother" everywhere around Rantoul last summer and he was not being very good about half the time. The way you treat kids when they're being bad for extended periods says a lot about you. Blue skies, Jim -
Blood and Jack! Never wanted to ask what kind of blood it was. Blue skies, Jim

Spaceland frequently gives us a bonus and takes us to 14.5 at no additional cost. At Dublin last March all the jumpers on the Otter were getting extra altitude. Thanks Steve & Rabbitt. Blue skies, Jim

Funny that this thread occurs at this time. I had dinner with Tom Jenkins tonight and he made a comment that he and Jack Berke were on the first texas 40-way, 60-way, etc. Blue skies, Jim

Amanduh: We come into this life with nothing and we leave with nothing. What is left are the memories that our family and friends have of us. Mikey will live with you as long as you live. Late at night during those times when you are between sleep and awake, you may hear him call your name. It is just because he misses you too! Do you have other old friends you have lost contact with? Maybe it's also time to visit with them. Sorry about your friend. Wish there was more I could say. Blues, Jim

Most of us have brain farts and some more than others. A lot of people get down on the president for his, but everyone has them: (On September 17, 1994, Alabama's Heather Whitestone was selected as Miss America 1995.) Question: If you could live forever, would you and why? Answer: "I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever," --Miss Alabama in the 1994 Miss USA contest. `````````````````````````````````` "Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." --Al Gore, Vice President And . . "We are ready for an unforeseen event that may or may not occur." --Al Gore, VP ``````````````````` "I love California. I practically grew up in Phoenix." --Dan Quayle `````````` "We've got to pause and ask ourselves: How much clean air do we need?" --Lee Iacocca ``````````` "The word "genius" isn't applicable in football. Make sure to talk to the cafe/deli folks ahead of time so they can be ready for you too. If you are all showing up at the dz at the same time early in the morning, bring coffee and donuts for the group and offer some to the manifest/waiver staff. The video guys can also run videos for all to watch prior to the first tandem video being ready or during weather holds and other delays. Some dz's have other activities so make sure to discuss what's available with the dzo/dzm prior to getting there. One thing we try to do is have a few jumpers "mingle" with the group to answer questions, break the ice, etc. I have met some great folks/non-jumpers that way. At the end of the day, don't run off. Some dz's have great bars and a lot of the jumpers will hang around if enough folks are there to party with. Blue skies, Jim

Apparently quite a bit indirectly. I have heard that the electric bills run $15k+ per month which equates to around 168 Otter loads. Blue skies, Jim
