  1. Hey Ron - I've been talkin with Alex about your schedule. What a bummer. Storm after storm. I guess if we get a storm at Perris you guys should be the odds on favorite!!!!! I owe Alex a few beers so stop in and I'll buy ya a sympathy beer as well. BTW - player coach numbers again growing in Advanced!!!!!! Steve. GT
  2. If you are on the West Coast, with the Perris Tunnel, keep an eye out for the Valentines meet at Eloy. It is the first major competition of the season. Also, with US Nationals very early in 2005, the Southwest Skydiving League will start early. You can ask Kurt or the SSL league director about this. Its a bit of a drive to Eloy from the Perris Tunnel, but doable. Given your stay, you might be able to catch the Shamrock and the Valentines meet AND fly both tunnels. Steve GT
  3. My understanding is that even for a World Cup, US teams must still be "sanctioned" by the USPA. Its my understanding that they will use the 2005 nationls as a basis for "sanctioning" US teams to compete. I could, however, be very wrong about that. Steve

    Adria Allen

Adria was a shining star in both the world of skydiving and in the world itself. May her star shine forever in our hearts and in our skies. Steve, Kathee Steve, Brian, John, Jonathan, Josh "Those who hope in the Lord, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." ISA 40:31

For those who think the Olympic Gymnastics judging is interesting, try watching an international Skysurf Event, men's or women's. Now THAT is "interesting" scoring!!! S.
  7. I second that - does anybody have the results and how did Jonathan Tagle do? Steve GT
  8. Love that its in Perris (my backyard), but good god, do you have any idea how hot it is at Perris around Labor Day!!!!!!!! This year's schedule should be perfect. Steve
  9. Majik's 41 is now posted on NSL TV at skyleague.com Steve Elsinore GT.
  10. Hey Joe - Do you know Brian Vande Krol? He's a teammate of mine, jumps at Mile Hi. S.
  11. Will post as soon as we get pics. Probably two camps away. Adam has the logo and layout for the fleece. He can post those if he likes. Kelly also did a great job on the Boardwalk US Team gear for 2003 world meet. Those were sweet too! Maybe Kelly's da man! Been tryin to post the US gear, but files seem to be too big to upload. Any suggestions? Steve. GT.
  12. Must admit - the rigs came out much better than anticipated. Thanks to Jonathan Tagle - rig designer, camara flyer and swoop competitor especial. As nice as the rigs are, the team fleece are even better. Adam is da man! Steve.
  13. 4th place was Jonathan Tagle. What a great event. Steve.
  14. Actually, the jumpship has been posted as a caravan since GAP last year. Steve.
  15. wow - it appears that this once dead horse is now alive and kicking in a different forum. So, Ron, let me add some additional fuel to this fire. Marylou and Danny actually called me from DC during the USPA meeting to discuss the move-up rule. As you may know, I, along with others, submitted a compromise proposal to expand the 25% to include "any medal winner in a higher class or IPC sanctioned event". This would be a simple drafting change AND easy to monitor. Given that the Player-Coach is clearly hear to stay, this seemed like a good approach to put Advanced Gold Medalist on the same footing as what we have defined as "Player-Coaches". Notwithstanding my conversation with Comp. Comm. members, they STILL changed nothing even when they were well aware of how unfair the exixting situation is. Inertia at its finest! Steve.
  16. directe v GT - hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Guess we'll have to wait until October to find out. Steve
  17. We have two hours of time at Perris on Dec. 26th and we have room for 1 or 2 more people to share. Please drop me an email at smiller@sheppardmullin.com as soon as possible if you're interested. Steve Elsinore GT
  18. Last I checked with Troy at Sky Systems (about 8 mos. ago), they were no longer making the sidewinder, even on special order. Has something changed recently? Steve.
  19. Where did you see the O2? I haven't seen it on the website. Steve Elsinore Boardwalk
  20. Be sure to get his name right though, its Joel, not Joe, and his photos rock! S.
  21. By way of stopping any rumors and speculation, skyejumper is correct. Kathee was having a problem with dizziness/vertigo that prevented her from continuing beyond the first round due to saftey concerns. The score in the first round was, however, sufficient to allow her to qualify for the US team participating in the 2004 World Championships. As hard as it was for Kathee to step down from the competition, there is a lesson to be learned here. If you feel a jump is unsafe, stand down, even if you are in competition, even if the jump is important. Even seasoned competitors do it if its required. It is always better to stand down than end up a topic of discussion in the incidents forum. Kudos to Kathee for having the guts to stop when the competition meant so much to her. 22. Not that is matters in this discussion, but they have the same rule for skysurf, including the video guy. If you film Women's skysurf, you are not permitted to also film Men's skysurf. Roughly the same arguments apply, although they are weaker in this event given that free rounds will not be identical. The discussion is exactly the same with respect to the compulsory rounds. Steve. GT Boardwalk.
  23. Bobby - Mr. Jade - IF you want to arrive in Orlando at 10:30ish on Thursday night, I can give ya a lift. Steve. GT

    Bragg Tunnel

Damn Ron - I'm jealous. I'm on the US team (skysurf video) and didn't get an invite to Bragg, guess those guys only count the FS team!!! I'll have to chat with them about that. I feel so left out! Drop me an email if you have time and tell me how the tunnels (Bragg and Orlando) are different. I'd be interested to hear. Have you flown the tunnel in France? As for the Elsinore Tunnel - Its a long complicated story, but contrary to posts above - its not a financing issue. Would the market support two? Who knows and why do we care, unless we are investors. More tunnels means more tunnel time and, if economic theory is correct, at cheaper prices! Steve Elsinore GT
