I got a Bonehead Havok recently for the exact reasons mentioned in this thread. I haven't jumped it yet, but I am happy that I can wear it over my glasses without trouble. For what it is worth, I ordered mine from ParaGear. It arrived with some defects, and it appeared to have been old stock. I realized it was old stock when Bonehead sent me, for free, a replacement helmet. The new helmet had been improved in a couple of areas, and fits great. On depth perception, there's a trick that a friend of mine uses when doing accuracy landings of remotely-piloted sailplanes in competition. It is based on how an owl judges depth (according to my friend). I had an interview today with a guy who pre-paid 3 jumps (all tandems I believe) with them. He was able to take the first as he went to ASC. He said that after he bought them he started hearing more about problems with the business that he bought them through. I'm pretty sure he was talking about skyride, as he didn't say that he got them from ASC (but isn't that really the same thing?). I told him where I jumped, and he said he had seen the buses at the airport. The people he was with told him, "that's just the competition." I've seen a few people who broke the face shield on their full face helments and rather than replace them, just wear goggles with the helmet. It gives the protection for impacts around the face, but also the feeling of having an open helmet. Just a thought. AFF-6, the accuracy trick told me I wasn't going to make it (winds must have shifted a bit). I headed for the neighbor's grass runway. It was getting dark, and depth perception was not reliable. Remembering there was a hill to the side of the runway, I turned into the runway and made a safe landing. I gathered my things, turned off the radio, picked up the canopy and the golf cart drove up. I hopped the fence, climbed into the back of the golf cart with Kim holding the canopy in the front seat, and rode back to the hangar. Pretty uneventful for a first.
