The fact that you have come on here and asked peoples opinions says a lot. When I was in my 'wrong' relationship, I had a few people tell me how wrong it was. I heard them OK, but still did my own thing and stay with him. I left when I realised for myself. Sounds like you already want to leave, you just want us to back you up and give you the confidence to do it. Which is fine.

I think you have said it all. The hardest thing to do is leave someone you love. I had to do it just over a year ago! He sounds (form what you have said), selfish, thoughtless and arogant. He certainly does not seem to be wanting the same thing form the realtionship as you do. I'd say he does not make you feel special, even though you are putting in every effort to make him happy. Love is about making eachother feel special. You love him enough to sacrafice your own happiness ..... you can not live like that, not for long. I think you know in your heart what you want to do. It's just scary admitting it and very hard to do. Good luck

Nar, just want to see what CF is like. I think it will build my confidence and canopy skills greatly. I doubt i'd take it up seriously, I enjoy freefall wey too much. I want to try everything at some stage. This year: CF, Night Jump, Balloon jump. I also want to become a load organiser and get my BI. In the distant future: Surfboard, Bird man and BASE. A year ago, I would never have thought I'd here myself saying I want to do CF or BASE! Being in Birmingham, do you jump at Hinton?

I'd say, do what it is you want to do. If they hold a grudge against you or even hate you for it, then they are not the person you thought. :) If they love you they will let you/forgive you/understand. Sounds to me like you have pretty much made your mind up.

My other half has over 3000 jumps, I have nearly 200 . So, we are not talking about me here! Going back to the origional question..... It really depends on the situation! But, you have to remember it's your life, you only get one, you may regtret not doing the things you wnat to do because of somoene else.

Hyperthetical situation: Your other half is a non-jumper and HATES you jumping and wants you to stop. Do you carry on cos you love it? Stop cos you love him/her? Now, depending on which option you choose . . . . who is the selfish one?
