Hey all. I just bought a new car. Not exactly skydiving related, but little that is in the talk back forum nowadays is. Anyway, you people who have bought cars before or know a little about them, let me know what you think. Here is what I got: 2002 green Ford Escort 4 door Sedan w/ 2144 miles on the odometer. I'm pretty sure it's the basic no frills version as well. Anyway, it's got a clean Carfax record, and I paid $7000. Also still has a bumper-to-bumper warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles. This easily takes the cake for the stupidest thing I have seen this week. I think my IQ has actually lessened for having watched it. I know that this is just going to flabbergast some people but I generally call my penis "my penis." I don't generally talk to it, so I don't see any need for it to have a proper name.

I'm not trying to make a "fuss." It Sangiro's site and he can do what he likes with it. I'm just voicing my opinion that some of the recently added forums are overkill and unnecessary. Ok, well if we are going to overpopulate the forums with "fluff" forums, then it only seems appropriate that we have forums dedicated to Boobies, Jokes, Haikus, and Post-whoring. My understanding of the Talk Back forum was that it is the catch-all, for anything that isn't specifically related to aspects of skydiving. My guess is that now that HH has the bandwidth, he is just playing with his toy more, instead of just using it efficiently. Sort of like how computer programmers can be overly sloppy with their code, because todays computers have so much more processing power than they would need to run well-written programs. Is a women only forum really necessary? I can't see any benefit in having this at all. It's not like guys can't still go in and post. I would do neither, knowing that every available news agency in the country will be filming it and then rebroadcasting it continually for the next 2 months, complete with scientific, political, religious, and any other kind of commentary you can think. I think that jerks and nice guys probably get rejected close to the same number of times. The difference being that the jerk doesn't care too much about the outcome of asking a girl out, because he knows he can always just ask another one, thus instead of complaining about always getting rejected, he just forgets about her and moves on to the next girl he wants to ask out. While the nice guy dwells on who to ask out and then takes it harder when he is rejected, leading to making it more difficult to ask someone else out. The jerk invests less emotional significance in it and as a result probably asks a lot more girls out. And the more you ask, the higher the probability that one of them will say yes. My rigger says that using a stiff brush to get mud off of a rig is a bad idea. Because the brush damages the cordura, and makes it start to get fuzzy. The best thing that he suggests is let it completely dry and then take a vacuum to it. Just use the rounded end of the hose, without any attachments and pull it across the dirty area. Anyway, we had to do it with my rig one time after I had been dragged through a field and it works (without hurting the material).

This is sort of a double edged sword though. You also have to deal with a lot of the regular skydivers at your home DZ not taking you seriously, and just assuming that you aren't good enough to jump with them, because you did your student stuff there and they still see you as a student regardless of how many jumps and how good you may become. I have pretty basic, "short-term" health insurance, and a while ago when I hurt my foot because of a failure to flare, no one from the insurance company asked me anything. They were even able to negotiate the price of the xray and consulation lower. Nowhere in my contract does it mention anything about excluding coverage for extreme sports.
