  1. who gives a fuck, i did the same, and guess what, i got the really cool shit that i wanted! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  2. Geeezzzuss fuckin Keerist people...Is this forum getting so fucking uptight that nothing can be made light of? Forst folks go ape shit over a pair of panties on lower legs...now ya can;t fucking laugh at a spin off title? it's because everyone knows only microns do make panties drop! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  3. it's a feature called "colour coordination"; it get's you laid more! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  4. Don't listen to Andy. Skydiving is safe. Why shouldn't' we be able to jam out while we fall to the earth?? Agreed. I see no reason why we should not be able to jam out while we are in freefall. BUT, I gave it some more thought last night and while the N3A is a step in the right direction as far as trying to make music in freefall safe...it's not nearly there. There are to many situations that come to mind where I do NOT want to be hearing music. If anything a device like the N3A might be more dangerous as it could give a false sense of security. I think it will be a long while until recorded music in freefall becomes safe enough for me to revisit the subject. Soooo, be careful what you wish for....I'm going to get some vocal coaching....I'm going acapella!! Recorded music is definitely not safe. Jump with an electric guitar and amp and make your own tunes. Do a lot of people really jump with music? Seems crazy to me. I mean, how are you going to hear if you get a phone call? there's an iphone app for that, you also have to take pictures, u know! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  5. when would that be ? who was your secondary AFF skyboarder ? Lots of them in your area. about 22yrs back? “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  6. i agree with you. it was mine as well. looked fun, but when i asked my affi what happened to it, his response was "yeah when the whole goal of the event is to induce a spin so fast that you easily black out, people tend loose interest" still think it was a cool idea, except for the blacking out part. i was probably one of the first snowboarders in europe back in the days.. i always thought, that must be the ULTIMATE lane/track.. so yea, many years later i've actually got into skydiving.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  7. They became BORED skydivers... one of 'em actually became my AFF-secondary when i started.. still appreciate his efforts to this day! i bet, after me, he wasnt so bored anymore.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  8. Or like me, when I got in to it..someone that has already fucked up their future, and doesn't give a shit.... Worry about your studies, Skydiving will still be here! not everyone has started when the wheel was just invented; and rode TWO of them to boot! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  9. *** Yeah, I know what you are talking about. Mirage too, opening that flap can really be a trick. Doesn't Vector offer a window on the backpad to have your display? opening up the reserve-flap is not really an issue, but to get your fingers in and up there to get the cypres-unit out can sometimes be tricky.. i just dont like that part of the rig; with my old javelin, it was on the backpack-part of the rig, so VERY easy to do.. i dont think they offer that option to my knowledge, and as i said, if you do a reserve-pincheck (forced to do so), it's actually a good thing. dont know if their line of thinking was that way tough.. if it was, smart choice, otherwise, it's a little inconvenient.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  10. practice, practice, and practice some more! took me only something like 20 packjobs on my NEW canopy to get it right, maybe 23 if you count in the couple times i've had to do it over.. and, maybe have your instructor look you over, there's a difference between f-111 210+, sabre 150's with over 800 jumps and brand-spanking new 120's.. they'll help you out!
  11. Quit trolling me, you brought nothing to this thread with that comment and on the contrary picking fights with me is being very infantile on your part well, you ARE notorious, a bit like i used to be and sometimes, admittedly, still am; doesnt change the fact tough! and oh yea, my choices of canopies and what not probably still remain in the general forumsviewer eyes to be "questionable", but at least i dont try to be a dipshit EVERY time.. to the OP, for my 2nd rig i was able to get a stiletto 135, but then decided on a(n even smaller) semi-elliptical.. just for the sole reason, i've had like 10 linetwists on only my first or 2nd jump on that canopy, it flew and landed GREAT, it was TONS of fun to fly, but i didnt feel just ready yet to get a fully elliptical at the time.. that was around 250 jumps, but you might decide otherwise, and honestly, i couldnt care less, i'm just giving my opinion, and i'm everything else but a canopy-nazi.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  12. the paratec speed reserve is also lightweight, and +/- should have been in use for around 10yrs. the guys i know that jump them, and the riggers around here, STILL recommend that (lightweight) reserve over all others.. so i dont think the optimum will hold up any worse to that! of course, that is only speculation, but anyway.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  13. vector3 micron it's a little annoying to shut the cypres on, you have to fondle it out under the reserve-flap; kinda forces you to do a reserve-pin check anyway, so it aint ALL that bad, but it could be a little easier accessible anyway.. question for the folks with the wichard-hardwear, i've ordered the "french" hardware, which opens really smooth if you slip your thumbs in, but stays rocksolid closed during planerides and the way to get to the plane; is that the same thing!? pictures please if you have them.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  14. if you buy a canopy from icarus, they come with slinks; and i think the same goes for pd as well.. i might be called a sheep, but if they already ship them that way, why change it!? and if you have a vector3, you wont need a (s)link of any kind to attach your dbag/bridle to the canopy! dont know about other manufacturers, but from what i've seen, they're different and you DO need a (s)link.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  15. b-spec aint that exciting, but rakes up money while you watch tv or so.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  16. i know.. like winning the furai and i even think the zonda r! both my favorites so far, with a clear ahead of the zonda.. as i stated, it's not a bad game.. but, fuck knows, i just expected WAY more, after a developing time of over six years.. that's all!
  17. are you making the challenges? all set to gold? licenses set to gold? if you do, you hardly have to as you will make enough money, also, play the b-spec mode, you win a ton of VERY cool cars, like the mazda furai concept or the zonda r, both which like 5'000'000 credits.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  18. Santa Claws do i get my "stupid"-sign now!? there's only st. niklaus here, he aint fat, but also wears red and white, and has dark faced, brown clothing wearing helpers, that happens on the 6th of december, and the "christchindli", which is loosely translated the "christmas child" that actually brings gifts.. fucking weirdo. hey, it's switzerland, what do you expect? we're "different"! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  19. 20. i played gran turismo from it's day on the ps1, only part i left out was gt4 because my ps2 got fucked.. so, i'm a "gran turista" since day one; obviously, i like them.. it's not a BAD game; just all those expectations that have been hyped up for like the last six years.. are not met! there are missions, and there IS cool stuff included, i wont tell you now, but yea, it just misses the "knack", if you know what i mean.. i dont understand your "fat guy mostly wearing red and white"-comment. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  21. just won one before.. gosh, i dont know what to do with granturismo allstars in a-spec, it's friggin hard!!! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  22. i have heard/read about iracing, they say it's the best race-sim out there.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  23. BTW ... you never were specific as to where you think this game comes up short. Even iRacing (IMHO the best motorsports sim available to the general public) has issues. These games have come a long way in the last decade, but they still have a long way to go. well, there's about six different versions of the toyota yaris/vitz, whatever it's called in the US. that goes for all those rice-cups, but you only have around 200 "cool" cars like the lambos and so on. only 200 are actually "premium", that means as detailed as they get. then the graphics are WAY behind of what the ps3 is capable of. only additions to new tracks are the nürburgring i think, but they take the supercool oval test-track out? WTF!? and i'm not even complaining about the tearing, it just doesnt look as good as they tried to sell/promise it to the public. it doesnt live up to its expectations in MANY fields.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  24. Quick explanation~ Kids use to go outside and play with Hot Wheels and imagine they were driving them around. Kids now sit on the couch and play with pictures of Hot Wheels...and imagine they were driving them around. sad but true. but today i went out and fly my airplane over somebody "playing" with and RC one, and sang "Nah Nah Na nahh nahh" aint no sunshine when she's gone.. aint no sunshine when she's away, anytime, anywhere.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
  25. Why do you choose to judge people who are different than yourself? If you don't think motorsports is cool, that's fine. Keeping that opinion to yourself would have been the better thing to do here. But there is no shortage of people out there in the world who actually like motorsports. For those who can not do it in the real world, it is nice to know that they can still have some fun in the virtual world. BTW ... airtwardo is correct in saying that "Grand Turismo 5" is geared more towards the younger console gamer crowd. ..but should be geared more towards the "older" crowd - well, 'twardo excluded - and should be more of a "driving experience" anyway.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try." -Yoda
