I had considered adding that in to the original post but didn't know if that would be TMI. The only evidence of climax were the tissues near his feet and the grin on his face so he could have been close... I didn't bother to check the kleenex though. I was recently asked "What is the craziest thing you have ever seen?" I had to think about it for a bit because I have seen a lot of crazy shit in my short life. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps, a year and a half of which was over seas and nine months in combat, then have spent the last two years working on an ambulance. I must say though, the craziest thing I have ever seen was on a 911 call to a residence where a woman walked in on her husband who had been watching a porno standing up in middle of the living room, tipped straight backward, and died from a heart attack masturbating. What's the craziest thing you have ever seen? Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Yeah, Before I was an EMT I was a Sergeant in the Marines and that was quite a rush, especially in combat. I am loving skydiving so far! I just got my A-license two weekends ago and in the next month I will have my B. I was first going to be a paramedic and work for the fire department then after working as an EMT for a few years I decided to get a degree in nursing and I eventually want to be a flight nurse. More opportunities and more money. ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

I do agree on some points there. I spent nearly a year in combat and since I have been away from the Marine Corps life has just seemed dull; All the activities that I used to enjoy have since been boring. I am obviously new in the sport but skydiving sure fills that void for me. It is a different type of excitement but skydiving is the one thing that I have found that actually compares to that rush! ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Agreed it would most likly fit you but like said before and you will hear it again, get on the bike, they should let you take it for a test ride and when you agree to purchase they should pro fit it to you. Have fun and don't forget to buy a helmet! Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

More along the lines of I don't have to worry about her being with someone else at the DZ. She has stayed by my side after all the $h!t we have been through thus far so I don't see how skydiving together could change the fact of her wanting to spend her life with me. Besides, I doubt many other skydivers my age could afford to pay for 2 people to jump every week on top of the cost of our apartment, our pets, and two new cars. I have never been one to follow a faith although I study buddhism; it is the only thing close to a religion that for myself has ever made any sense. I will put this out there for thought- Roughly 500 years ago it was common knowledge that the earth was flat, that was proved to be far from the truth. Now consider that people whole heartedly believe that stories in a book written roughly 2000 years ago are true. I am not saying that some of the events in that book did not take place, for it can be used for some historical reference, or that all the people were made up, but look at it from an objective point of view where time and evidence can bring proof or discredit rather that being told what to think for an entire lifetime other than expanding a horizon and looking for what else might be out there. "Don't believe a teaching just because you've heard it from a man who's supposed to be holy, or because it's contained in a book supposed to be holy, or because all you friends and neighbors believe it. But whatever you've observed and analyzed for youself and found to be reasonable and good, then accept that and put it into practice." ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Positive commentary on US soilders in Iraq

Hey that's good to go! I spent nearly a year in Iraq and my biggest gripe about US media is they did not portray the HUGE humanitarian relief effort we provided after the fall of the regime. I remember two days after the fall of the Baathe Party and the regime we conducted a mechanized patrol through the streets of Baghdad, it felt more like a parade than a patrol. They were playing music in the streets for us. People were running around outside waving, blowing us kisses, and thanking us for what we did. War is an ugly thing and I wish it never had to happen but it is a damn shame that the media will, on majority, only report the bad that goes on. You did not hear about the hospitals we put back in to service, the schools we cleaned all the weapons caches from and got back running, or all the medical and food aid we poivided to the Iraqis. Most people don't know how much of a rut their infrastructure was in until we came to help not to mention the genocide put on non-Baathists or the mass graves we uncovered. I will stop here before I get into a rant ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder -
Hmm something about losing your turn? She wants to skydive because she can see how much fun it is. It is something that makes me very happy and she wants to experience that. Who knows??? She could hate it! Either way she has told me she is willing to support me in my hobbies and interest and would love it if we could enjoy it together. In an earlier post of mine, I am unsure if I made it clear, we were NOT having relationship problems due to me skydiving. She has always been a trooper in that department. I did however make a general statement that if someone were going to try to prevent me from doing something I loved that I wouldn't want to be with them anyway. I would never want someone to change or do something different solely because of me. Nor would I talk someone into doing something they didn't want just to be closer to me; that would only lead to resentment. I will however encourage the situation if it was something she showed interest in that I enjoyed as well. Oh and to answer your big one -That's not something I have to worry about. ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Hey there, Depending on your back problems you may or may not have trouble jumping. I have suffered from back problems for the past few years among other issues. Some of which I acquired in the Marine Corps and some from a car accident. I have two partially herniated discs; one at my L4-L5 and the other below my T6 underneath a 2mm vertebral compression of the anterior side of my T6. It hurts. I can still do all the activities I used to do with the exception of heavy weight lifting as long as I keep in good physical condition and stretch on a daily basis. You have to keep a strong core I have found. Skydiving, like I am sure you deal with a number of other activities on a daily basis, will come down to the amount of pain you are willing to deal with as long as you are not exacerbating the injuries that you all ready have. I am rated as 90% disabled by the VA after my military service due to my back and other injuries and I am still more physically active than most people I know. I would most definitely recommend getting a clearance from your physician and get it in writing to take with you to the dropzone of your choice to show them you have medical clearance to jump. Best of luck to ya! You will get to jump one day soon. Be safe and have fun! ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Hi! I have suffered from the diagnosis IBS for the past 10 years. It does in no way keep me from skydiving and only my first tandem made it a little uncomfortable due to the pressure in my abdomen. A normal rig does not put as much pressure on your belly as does being strapped to someone in a tandem harness. I recently found out the root of my IBS as I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease a few months ago (Gluten Intolerance) and since I have made an extreme shift in my diet since things have been much better. My suggestion to you would be to not eat the foods that you know set you off the night before or the morning that you jump to keep your guts from rumbling and take care of business before you jump. PM me if you want any more info. For some this may all ready be TMI ~Z Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Come to Cali! I am new in the sport and would love to learn something from anyone willing to teach and have fun! You have to have fun though, that's the only stipulation... Good news! Now, after a long talk with the old lady, we are going to make things work. I have realized that I need to put some of my selfishness aside sometimes and she realized that she needs to start skydiving so things will work out well. I all ready have that hot girlie that I would not want to give up for the world...I just need to get her to jump out of planes with me Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

Although new in the sport the list of disdain is unnecessary. I agreed with the points you made in your first post and the reason my relationship coming to an end is not due to skydiving but for other reasons. Skydiving may have exacerbated the situation but was not the cause. But the end of a relationship just opens up more opportunities for myself in a non egomaniacal way. I spent nearly two years mountain biking and over three years cycling. You can get a low end mountain bike with limited accessories and suspension for what you have set your budget to. If loosing weight is your ultimate goal then investing a little amount into a mountain bike to see if you even like the sport would be your best bet so you are on the right track so far. My old Mountain bike I bought in 2000 I spent 2500 dollars on and my road bike I purchased in 2004 I had invested over 4000 dollars into. For the pure weight loss perspective road biking (cycling) is much more beneficial. It is much more aerobic than its anaerobic counterpart of the constant uphill climb. You will however get in better shape and loose weight from either side but road bikes will eventually keep you more trim. My best suggestion would be to go to your local pro bike shop (not a local sporting goods store) and talk to someone who really knows their head from their ass about bikes, road and mountain. Have them give you a few suggestions, options, and FIT you to whatever bike you purchase which can be a vital aspect especially in cycling. Hope this little bit helps you. Feel free to PM me if you would like any more information. Main Entry: 1hav•oc Pronunciation: 'ha-v&k, -vik Function: noun 1 : wide and general destruction; DEVASTATION; great confusion and disorder

I would have to agree with alot of points put out there, especially by Grape and even Douva. I am now in a situation where I have found something that I do every weekend that I find more enjoyable than anything I have ever done, to include 12 years of snowboarding, shooting, the military... now I am nearing the end of a relationship and all I can find myself thinking about is I won't have to pay so much for rent... I can move closer to the DZ, more $$ for jumping... more time for jumping, more jumping... more jumping. It can seem like an addiction when looked at from certain view points and by the book it could be classified as an addiciton. Skydiving is something that makes me happy; Now it is hard to say this without sounding like a complete dick but if the person I am with can't handle me being away one day a week at the DZ then I don't want to be with them anyway. Skydiving is something that I identify myself with and part of who I am and I think that needs to be accepted by the person that says they care about me. I guess I will just have to find that hot little skydiving girlie if I ever want a girlfriend again... DC-9 modified for Skydiving Perris, California
xHAVOCx replied to GravityJunky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The DC-910 is 104.4 ft long and 27.5 ft tall at the tail. There is a DC-9-50 that has the same tail heigt wih an overall length of 133.5ft, but I don't know that 85 bucks is worth it more than once other than to say you juped a jet.
