I was there working for my company... just wondering if anyone else was there? And if you were did you notice in the concourse of Invesco NO one stopping for the national anthem... no clue there were so many skydiving equestrians! i rode a show jumper yesterday after a while off and my muscles hate me. if any of you horse supporters live near phoenix PM me, i'm horseless here and not handling it well. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.

Oh you forgot the separate box for "race walking". i would have checked that one just for the name. agreed, I've ridden competitively since I was 5 and all the other sports/activities I've trained in (Brazilian jujitsu, skydiving, rock climbing, track and field, pistol and rifle shooting...) nothing compares to the amount of effort, physical fitness, and skill involved in 3 day eventing, show jumping, or dressage(the 3 types of Olympic riding). My first taste of flight was jumping my horses... still nothing like soaring above the ground over a 4 ft by 4 ft wide solid wooden log at 25 miles an hour. Here is a different point of view; I was the the with the traveling parent. All my life my dad had a traveling job, when I was young( till 10) it was as much as a week or two at a time.. But the majority it was gone 3-4 days home 2-5days, or some random combo. I still call him on his cell and it always " where are you.. at home no.. ok". I don't even try to keep up anymore. I can say it never negatively affected me. Some of my only solid memories before the age of 5 are of running out to greet him as he'd come home. Yelling " DAAAADDDY"S HOME" and latching on to his leg to be dragged up the porch steps and into the house

I prefer the "support" and style of my Transformers light up velcro shoes. I avoid the infamous shoe wedgie, and the light up soles keep those around me in the plane entertained. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.

It's a trek but i did my first jump at the tender age of 16 at Skydive Paris. But the clostest DZ to Nashville would be Tullahoma, the King air is there. And there used to be a DZ north of Nashville over the KY border. Never been to either of those but Paris was a nice little Cessna DZ. I grew up in Murfreesboro just south of Nashville if you have any questions about the area. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.

Just quietly smile cause he's in the army( and do you need anything besides that for a giggle?) and every time he's been skydiving he did it strapped real tight to another dude. Ohrrah.. new jumper here making good decision after reading forums such as this and tomany low turns/etc incident forms. I like my limbs attached thank you. I'm only 21... i've got a good 45 solid years of skydiving. Downsizing to fast mean i'll be having to land just a wingsuit when i'm 50 just to keep things interesting All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost. -
It's kinda crazy to read all these story. I actually jump out at Casa Grande now, there is a new operation out there with a Cessna. I'm still a baby in the sport, and well at 21 i guess at life too, so I some times have that typical "nothing existed before me" thought process. Never knew Casa was home to skydivers before us. Great to hear it used to be a skydiving mecca, good juju for me! Lets just hope the BSBD doesn't follow All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.

My brother is stationed right above Atlanta at the AF base and I was thinking of combining a trip to visit him this summer(ish) with hitting a good boogie out there.I saw some planned for next month, but i'm in TN visit him right now so I gotta space it out( this is the first time seeing him in 2 years, he just got back from Afghanistan). I jump, and learned to jump, at a smaller dropzone 20 mins closer to Phoenix in Casa Grande AZ. Phoenix Area Skydive. And it's been great to me... All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.

I made my first licensed jump in New Zealand a few months ago. The drop zone was gorgeous and I traveled the 2 island for 17 days and didn't see even 1/10 of what there is. Gorgeous place and amazing vibe, Skydive Abel Tasman. A few hours south you can hike a glacier... AMAZING!!! And if the weather is good- which being summer there it should be- you can skydive over the glacier as well( rain forest and beach visible on the same jump!) I did my whole trip, airfare from Phoenix, lodging, food, transportation, and something $50-$100 every few days(glacier hike, skydiving, kayaking etc) for under $2,000. Easily could have done it for $1,500 without so many 'activities'. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.
