    Boobs

I was twenty-ish and had the bad taste to fall madly in love with absolutely the hottest waitress in the restaurant I worked at back then. Since she was four years older then I am, it never crossed my mind that she might be into me. Then the entire staff went on a teambuilding weekend. At some point I needed to fetch something from my room and in passing hers I glanced through the open door. She was sitting on her bed wearing jeans and a bra, and I experienced the "bunny in headlights"-syndrome. I just couldn't look away. When I caught myself, I started slowly following the delicious curves of her body upwards, to her neck and face, quickly skipping over the letterbox of her mouth. When I was looking her square in the eyes, I didn't let my gaze wander again and aftera few seconds I smiled at her. She suddenly went wide eyed, sat up straight, inhaled and smiled back at me, producing an effect which nearly knocked me off my feet. Unfortunately that was also the moment that footsteps began to sound somewhere behind me. And just to illustrate my confusion, and to show what an idiotic loser I was back then, I gently closed the door of her room while being on the wrong side and went for a reeeeally cold shower... 11. You're absolutely right. That's why I added the "plane on fire" bit. Still, a plan is way better than "we'll see what'll happen when it happens".
  12. I'm not sure skydiving is actually safer than driving a car, however, the two do have something in common: You can make either as unsafe as you want. But using your common sense, not going to fast to soon and following advice and criticisisms from the instructors will take you a long way in remaining whole. Good luck getting back in the sky mate, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 13. You have issues with trusting a certified instructor, but not the advice you can come across any old how? Of course, you are to keep using your common sense, but you'll have to trust someone at some point. Sorry my friend, I am all for improvement through education, and I have said before that wasting time on twenty trolls is worth it if we can help a single genuine newbie, but the time has come to call BS on you. EDIT: I have followed this thread during it's development, this is not a comment I make out of thin air.. my gut feeling. But I'll happily be proven otherwise. 16. Below 2K - reserve Above - main. Below 1K - ride the plane down. Then an instructor asked me: "The plane is at 750 ft and on fire. Do you get out?" @Airdvr: Hop&pops from 3500 are mandatory for the A-licence (at least over here). What does the 2K H&P (decision alti for students) add to this, except "unneccesary" reserves from brief slider hangups, slight line twists and the likes? (meaning that the student is out of "fighting altitude" and MUST initiate EPs, as taught). Unless you're talking about a C-licence or whatever, in which case I have no opinion. 17. You are absolutely correct, I should have explained myself better. What I meant was that if *you* receive the brown gene from your father, and a blue one from your mother, *you*'ll have brown eyes. But you could receive a blue gene from your fatehr too. I wasn't realy talking about later generations. Genetics class was quite a while ago.. 18. The first definition I can live with, the others i refuse to acknowledge. Thanks mom, dad. "That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom
  19. Exactly. Nor do we. It is virtually impossible to tell you what to do wothout actually being there to see what you're doing. Furthermore, you know nothing of me, so who says that the advice I am giving is not to have some fun at the expense of some impressionable student? But in your First Jump Class (FJC) your instructor is right there with you, and they will be paying close attention to your body position, correcting it when necessary. The FJC lasts for hours, and believe you me, you're not in the plane unless you satisfy your instructors that you are able to jump safely. Look at my first jump: I was scared as hell, stiff as a plank and even closed my eyes briefly - but I did arch "That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom
  20. I'm no instructor, but this I can say: 1) No worries, any FJC will rehearse the exit and arch until you are sick of it (almost). 2) Again, no worries. Any AFFI is a vastly experienced skydiver before even qualifying to take the course to become an AFFI. You'll really have to do your worst in order to lose them both. As for going low, it's your skydive - the experienced people can look after themselves. Concentrate on the exersises you have to do. But if you're worried, talk to both your AFFIs about it before the dive. They'll surely be able to put you at ease. 3) No alcohol allowed in the air - not a drop! Even if you've got "a head for it" the reduced oxygen levels can make the influence of alcohol much worse. It's best if you have had a good night's sleep before jumping, and don't drink any alcohol. If you must, drink moderately and make sure there's more than eight hours between the drink and the dive. 4) have fun! This is the most important aspect of any skydive. Sure it's nice if you achieve your goals, but if you don't - no reason why you couldn't have had any fun. It isn't a contest! Relax, go to your FJC with a clear head, pay attention and you'll be a big step closer to solving the problems which for now only exist between your ears Then, after you land and the jumping is done, buy your instructors a case of beer and talk to them. An easy way to make friends and pick the brains of the experienced jumpers. I've said it before and will say it again, even the most introverted and modest skydiver loves to talk about his sport and needs only the flimsiest excuse to do so. I have a feeling there are a lot of people trying on the proverbial shoe right now to see if it fits. I'm no forum moderator, but I have similar experiences in my previous job, when I was among other things responsible for making sure that people followed the safety protocols and cleanedup their mess. Unfortunately, my experience is that the people at whom such things truly are targeted never care or realise it's them who are the target audience. However, for borderline offenders this could be just what was needed - some of us don't know any better or the Bonfire is the place where tasteless things are tolerated and even appreciated. This thread made me reflect on whatever stuff I have posted in whatever forum and I think some of it was on the verge of being over the line. Sorry if I offended anyone. That being said, it would be nice to be able to open any bonfire thread attachment at work without fear of what you'll be seeing...
