Let the sky be your mentor, But the sky can't save you nor teach you how to skydive. Your right though. -

(competitions and records be damned). "here, here"! I am jumping for the love of jumping now. Who knows in the future. -

I meant that a mentor should me motivation for jumpers with 100 jumps or less. I am just trying to figure out my reason for jumping besides I love it. I get bumbed out sometimes when i am at my Dz and all of the jumpers I know with the same jump numbers are jumping one load after the other rather they have a coach or another jumper or not. Why do I feel the need for extra motivation? My personality? I feel with a coach or mentor I would do better. is this normal? -
-
Is it normal to think you need a mentor to keep you psyched up in the sport like to help you keep on keeping on or should it be innate? Is it normal to not want to jump unless you have someone to jump with? On all good weather days even if they an jumper RW is it normal for someone with 87 jumps to not want to jump unless they have someone to jump with? I personally think mentors are critical in any sport. I think skydiving is a sport where a mentor is more important. -

Yes Spaceland has wonderful people that will jump with you after you get off student status. I only have 88 jumps and the people with 100s or 1000s of jumps are nice, like David Bowen, and will jump with you. Your at wonderful DZ! I jump at both Houston area DZs . Spaceland is my home DZ . - -

Hi I saw you did a tandem at my Home Dz. Cool. Welcome. I only had one instructor on all of my AFP jumps. It was AFP in 2001. Anyway the instructors were awesome. I did not know any DZ used two instructors for one student jump. I like RW too. I jumped with the guy you mentioned once but do not know if he is a coach. There are alot of coaches at that DZ that work there, though that can coach you when your off student status. - -

freebirdtif replied to adventurechick's topic in The Bonfire
I believe my most favorite truth of life IMO is that ALL GOOD NEVER DIES....... I GUESS I NEED TO CHANGE CAUSE RIGHT NOW............... I AM A GONNER........... Thats a big thing the favorite little things in life are like going for a ride in the country with your favorite music and family or friends that you like and getting lost and maybe stopping to pick blueberries on the side of the road..I know I sound like a Hallmark card. I am a little strange and still in trouble but trying to make ammends b/c I love life and want to enjoy all of it........... -

HOPE...thats all we have in the end. It is what keeps us from an emotional death and makes our lives possible to endure even when it seems like life is impossible. Hope, that is the key to wanting to wake up and be content even if your not happy..........hope can give us that [happiness] to look forward to because most of the time happiness is few and far between but hope is constant...............GREAT word! -
Is it ok to double wrap a rubber band for the line stows if it is pretty loose in the rubber band? I know its a simple question but I never learned to pack well and I am learning now after having to be out of the sport a while. I am back now and I want to be the best packer for my rig and know all about my rig. I read in Parachutist that you should not double wrap a stow that are not rubberbands a.......... tube stow I believe........... but it did not elaborate on weather or not if it is OK to double rubberbands............if they are really loose of course tHANK YOU -

Passion for this beautiful sport .I believe that it is not given cerdit for how awesome it is. It is a spot that never changes and the bond between skydivers is strong. I love flying and I do not look for happiness but for contenment. Skydiving gives me well being and a way to be in a world that I really belong. Tiffany - -

4 years and no jumping....... has made me sick and depressed. Today I did my recurrenecy jump and it was soooooooooooo good to feel those wheels lift up and off the ground. I loved it , love it now, and always will. I'm good! . ........................it feels good to be back. My god ......what was I thinking.......4 years........................never again. I actually have more confidence and will learn to channel in more on my common sense to help me in the sport. my hubby is NOT happy about this....oh well...........I have made the choice and I accept the small risk. I know where I will be during school days. Mommy ain't gonna be walking with a friend or sitting in a Starbucks....mommy will be catching some altitude.......... while my little dude is learning his whatever they learn at 3....................later Tiff[:) -
