    I voted to go for it.... There's nothing more important than family and I think its great that you're even considering this, versus letting your mom 'fend for herself' as she gets older. Kudo's! The only thingy I can offer up, besides what others have mentioned, is the 'undermining of parental authority' thing that's bound to happen. I understand that Grandma has 'Grandma rights' and it's HER house, and stuff.... but I'd suggest talking through this issue with her up front and before hand. For example, when you tell your kid 'no ice cream for dessert cause you didn't eat all your veggies... G'ma can't / shouldn't invoke G'ma powers and treat them to ice cream. ...and vice versa! Maintain a united front (all 3 of ya), because eventually the kids will figure it out and start playing you folks like a fiddle if you don't! Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

    Yes it was.... '87 DC4 Convention at Coolidge. I was on the 45 zoo dive that exited just prior to her group exiting (a 6 way I believe, and Greg just followed them out instead of riding the plane down... Thank God!). Of course, I didn't know what happened at the time but I remember wondering wtf was wrong as I watched her reserve slowly spiral all the way in... Incidently, If anyone has a video of that 45 zoo dive I'd gladly pay top $$$ for a copy. ...or ANY footage of the 1 legged jumper that was in attendance of that boogie!. PM me if you can help! But, oh fucking well... he has a Constitutional right to voice his opinion, and we don't have a right to 'not be offended' by it. I personally have absolutely no issue with protecting our borders from the criminal element (which is what "they" are, regardless of how poor and destitute they are, or how much "they" are trying to improve their life, or how many kids they have, or whatever...). If they want to come into this country to work, fine... just do it legally. Just because (insert any number here) people are doing something illegally doesn't make it legal, nor does it make it right, or moral, or any fucking thing. It's still illegal.     I don't have an issue with it... what I do have an issue with is DHMO! This insideous shit kills thousands of people annually, causes untold amounts of property damage (is a known componant of acid rain), has been linked with obesity, and can be found in most (if not all) of the foods we eat! I just don't understand why our friendly neighborhood liberals haven't raised the roof about this... or why the media hasn't picked this up. I'm beginning to think that our govt controlled media is banned from reporting anything on this! Not surprising though... can you imagine what terrorist could do to us, if they happen to have the equilivant of a HS edumacation, and can figure out how to separate the molecule into its individual components? It's common knowledge that the separate atoms are EXTREMELY combustable! When will someone be held accountable??? Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

    Agreed! ...but, IMHO, is NOT for Tandems regardless of the number of jumps they have (the passenger doesn't know/understand the risk involved). I remember this coming into fashion back in the day. Thankfully, it eventually went out of favor after enough folks pounded in. Unfortunately, it seems to have made a comeback, under the guise of 'That was then, this is now and modern canopies are made of zp....'. Unfortunately the material the canopy is made from doesn't matter as, you mentioned, its a matter of timing and as such its just a matter of time before every tandem instructor doing this biffs it. I just hope their passenger doesn't get seriously hurt in the process. But this is just my opinion... I'm not a TI (as if by virtue of the rating they magically become immune to fucking up).     As I mentioned, I'm not so thick as to think it will never happen. We do agree though, on the rest of your statement. However, I ask you, if we're disarmed then whats to prevent the govt from becoming the tyranny that the Constitution was designed to protect us from? Agree... any fucking ideas as to how we go about doing that? Your definition of a gun nut is my definition of a Patriot. And I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm comfortable with or prepared for what you call a 'doomsday scenario'. However, IF it happens, at least I'll have a chance to protect myself, my family, and possible those who choose not to maintain and exercise the right to bear arms. You, on the otherhand, will have little choice but to drop to your knees and submit. Wouldn't it be better to 'go out fighting for and defending the Constitution of the US' than to drop on your knees and sheepishly submit to the whims of whomever?     That, IMHO, is a fucking retarded idea. On one hand, if you raise the min wage, the effective buying power of everyone else (everyone who earns above min wage) is reduced, thus effectively making them just a bit poorer via less purchasing power. On the other hand, every time theres been a wage increase, there seems to be an coorsponding increase in prices for goods and services, effectively making folks just a bit poorer. The only way I would support a mandated min wage increase, is to also implement a price freeze on all goods and services (and I hope to God they don't try that either!) or a coorsponding wage increase for EVERYBODY by the same amount. ...good luck getting that to happen.     (not necessarily directed at you Dan...) I agree with John, in principle. There might not be an active move by the government to confiscate guns today, but nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. Once your gun is on a db someplace, theres nothing to stop a 3am 'warrant search' for said guns once they do decide to confiscate them (if that ever happens). History has shown that one of the first abuses of tyranny is to disarm the populace. You might blindly trust the government, but I (and scores of others) are not so fucking stupid.     Let's be clear on this.... I DO think it's ok. How many civilians will those 3 Hamas members kill in the future? How many "innocent women and children" being used as shields KNOW wtf Hamas is doing and support it? If they don't support it, then why don't they do what they can to LEAVE the area? Maybe, just maybe, if the populace really don't support Hamas, they'll tire of the bullshit and do something about it so the IDF doesn't have to. If you, and anybody / everybody else, are so infuriated by the actions of one side or the other, then why don't you man up and go over there to support the side you think is right?
