  1. you can PLF backwards just as well as forwards or sidewaysQuote Yep, I made around 30 jumps with T-10 parachutes, and PLF saves me of some mistakes landing square parachutes. One day I saw a guy landing upwind in the runway with aprox 20 mph winds, He made a PLF and come out with just a few scratches!! that was nothing compared with which it could happen to him. 2. After having experienced over 500 CRW exits and openings of lightnings with camera(s) on my head, I was diagnosed with a neck hernia in 2004. Quetion, that hernia was caused for the camera CREW jumps?
  3. Absolutely not. Get some advice from your Instructors that are teaching you, before you purchase your own gear. Ed I agree 100%
  4. Hi everyone. I have looking in old post for tips to pack my Heatwave, but I have found different opinions about what to do with the nose, now I'm wondering what worked for you: A. roll the nose and push it into the pack job. B. Don't roll the nose but push it into the pack job C. Don't roll the nose and don't push it into the pack job. D. none of the previous ones. I'll appreciate any advice. Thanks
  5. These were taken in different dates. All were taken over the pacific coast in Guatemala. Blue Skies
  6. My first rig was Vector II- PD 9cell 170 - Rascal 202 Second Rig Javelin J1 - Turbo ZX 145 - Micro raven 135, then I changed the Turbo for a Tri 135. Aprox 60 jumps ago, I changed the Javelin for an Odessey with a Tempo 120 and maintained the tri 135. Recently I put a Heatwave 120 on the same Odessey.
  7. Quote I don't think B&H sells Arri or RED Arri Group made digital or analog cameras? If they don't, you need 2 blank checks....one for the camera and one for the Film roll, the film development and the transfer....
  8. Wow! that's pretty low for a 270..... Quote The next canopy I bought was a Crossfire2 149 and I got pretty deep in the corner a couple of times due to mistakes on my part and not being used to the longer recovery arc Well, I am going to have in mind for when I have my Katana!! (maybe in 2 or 3 years)
  9. Thanks for the explanation! I made this question because recently I acquired a Heatwave, and the gear review said : "and has a short recovery arc which is not forgiving"....so I had curiosity about that. Again thanks for the help. Blue Skies
  10. Hi, I have 2 quiestions....What is the Recovery Arc? and, is better a long recovery arc or a short recovery arc? Thanks

  13. Hi, I’m interested to learn to swoop, but unfortunately here (Guatemala) is nobody with experience in high speed landings to ask for some advice, besides we make 5 to 6 jumps in a month, so, there is no much opportunity to practice. I have aprox 40 jumps practicing front riser 180 degrees turns at 350 feet (sea level)…. but I know there is more than just make a hook turn and ¨hope¨ to everything comes out well. At the time I have a few demo jumps (60 aprox) night jumps and night demo jumps, jumps landing at different altitude, from sea level to 8,000 feet above the sea, I don’t know if this info matter, but there it is anyway. I’m saving to travel to the US and take the canopy control course, my WL is 1.4 on a triathlon 135. Thanks for looking this post and any suggestions and advice are welcome. Miguel PS Sorry for mi English.
  14. Thanks to all for the comments, now I have a better idea about camera lenses. My intention is to take stiils mostly for tandems. By the way, have you heard about the brands of lenses COSINA or TAMRON? Are good, are not so good?
