Well count me in I guess... I'm flyin solo, so I hope to meet some people to jump with!

Cant wait to meet you at the boogie ryan. Look forward to doing some fun jumps!

Our club alone will give you 30 plus people to jump with, not to mention the DZ and boogie regulars. You should not have a hard time finding someone to jump with. Just grab a gator and they'll be happy to jump with you.

  2. Well if you get a chance swing by Palatka... its approximately 293 miles from Clewiston. We are having a collegiate boogie from Jan.1-4 if you postpone your trip...

You should pass Sebastian and Titusville on the way as well... you should definately atleast do a jump at one of those two places, considering the awesome scenery. Sebastian is approximately 100 miles on I-95 from Clewiston, Titusville is about 120.

  3. The University of Florida Falling Gators Skydiving Club and Skydive Palatka are proud to present the 11th Annual Collegiate Boogie!

Join us Jan. 1-4 in Palatka, FL for beautiful weather and ring in the New Year by making new friends and fun jumps. You can even come out a day early and celebrate in true skydiver spirit by making New Year's night jumps!

We will be organizing wingsuit flocks, inflatable dives, hoop dives, and freefly organizing by Jairo Garcia. With a minimal registration fee of $30, attendees receive free food on Friday and Saturday, free beer every night, the official long sleeve boogie t-shirt, raffles for goodies and free load organizing with a great group of college skydivers to jump with.

Whether you are a college skydiver, alumni, or even if you never went to college, this boogie will allow ALL skydivers to do the two things college skydivers do best: jump out of airplanes during the day and drink/create mayhem at night!

Nightly activities include a poker tournament, karaoke, a raffle (included with registration), music, big screen movies, beer pong, and any other shenanigans college students can think of!

Daily activities between jumps include the 1st Annual Collegiate Cornhole Championship, packing seminars, and more. Rain or shine, this is the party college students from around the country will be coming to!

Two years ago the collegiate boogie discouraged tandems.

We are also advertising Tandems for $139...The Falling Gator Tandem special courtesy of Skydive Palatka. If you have any whuffo friends with a valid college ID, then they can do a tandem for the special price..... Naked tandems are always free (special conditions apply, the DZO, S&TA, Tandem Master, or any other skydiver who may be on that load can always object to obesity, unflattery, or ANY MALE who attempts to take up this offer, and the offer will and can be rescinded for that individual without question)

  5. Does anyone know what is going on with Zute Sute?

I ordered a jumpsuit from them in October since they came highly reccommended to me from a few guys at my DZ. They charged my credit card almost immediately, but I have not since received my jumpsuit. I have sent several emails asking for at first the status of my order, then after no replies I asked for a refund. I have been trying to call them since December to no avail. I only get their answering machine which does not allow you to leave a message. Any help would be appreciated.

I knew I should have ordered a Tony Suit or Michigan suit from here in Florida.

  6. Spence two questions.

    1) Has GT talked to you about the college skydiving tent?

    2) We have a few falling gators who will be close to getting licensed, but probably will not be licensed by Dublin. They have expressed interest in going and I figure there would be tons of coaches and instructors available, but I dont know what to tell them. Is a minimum A license required?

    Thanks

Woohooo! I have 2 drunk errand bitches in a golf cart! Is it my birthday??? :D

Speaking of golf carts.... are they going to have golf carts to pick up people who land off or on the far side of the air strip?

Im not sure if there was a rule against crossing the runway or something last year??? but I figured that was why noone was getting picked up who landed on the far side of the airstrip.

I'll ride one out of the CASA if you can get it inside. :P Just think of it like a raft dive but using a horse.:D I bet we could make the front page of Parachutists and the Dublin Newspaper.

Dont forget what happened with the (Dirty Sanchez??)raft last year. How would we explain a horse?

And we still have a shirt waiting for you lauralicious!B|:P

  10. I would just like to thank all of you who attended making the boogie a success. The weather hold on Sunday was a bit of a drag, but atleast we got a great packing seminar out if it from PD and Mirage. I had alot of fun, and I hope to see you again next year.

We have had some requests for a T-shirt reorder either for significant others, those who wanted a second one for themselves, or those who wanted to attend but couldnt. If anyone would like to purchase one of the boogie T-shirts for whatever reason, please let me know. I plan on placing the reorder on Wednesday. The cost will be $20 and we will mail them to you. If you are interested either pm me on dropzone.com or email me at popeye76@ufl.edu.

    Thanks!

I don't listen to ESPN, I'm a born and bred Buckeyes fan. I'm not a frontrunner. And I must admit Florida was the much better team last night. So wear your stupid shirts with pride. I still wouldn't be caught dead in that ugly thing. If my boogie fee is $335 I guess I won't be coming anyway. Was seriously considering it, seeing how the weather in Atlanta isn't cooperating. Too bad, because I really like Palatka...

Just to clarify about the shirt. The design was never intended to incenuate in any way or form, nor to reflect the outcome of the football game. When I noticed what colleges were going to be attending, and considering 3 of our regular Palatka jumpers also went to Ohio State, I figured a buckeye had rights to be on the shirt.

The original design of the shirt had the buckeye in the raft instead of the Clemson tiger, however when Clemson confirmed they were going to be at the boogie, I needed to somehow balance out the symmetry of the characters on the shirt, and the best way was to bring someone else to the front with the gator (who was originally doing a sit). I chose to bring the buckeye to the front, making him the largest college mascot on the shirt so that the shirt would be iconic to the year of the boogie since they were playing UF in the National Championship. Regardless of the outcome of that game, I figured 3 years down the road people would remember the boogie to correspond with this years BCS National Championship, to distinguish this shirt from future collegiat boogie shirts.

Originally the two mascots were doing a 2-way sitfly, until some of the rivalry comments started (initiated by Swoop). In spite of disparaging remarks, not to mention my knack of creating a comedic relief, I thought people would appreciate the humor of a rodeo on the shirt. Since the Falling Gators are organizing the boogie, it was only natural that we were the ones rodeoing the Buckeye.

As any skydiver who has either seen, done, or been rodeo'd can tell you, that it is something, that when done, usually generates weeks of laughter to follow, especially if it were caught on video. The fact that the Buckeye was getting rodeo'd was merely to serve the purpose of honoring Ohio State for their football team's achievement of being in the #1 seat, honoring the Ohio State students and alumni who were going to be present at the boogie, and provide something to chuckle at that only skydivers would appreciate.
