I was looking forward to playing poker with Lee this weekend at the Farm and now that will never happen. I didn't know Lee as well as many others but he always was friendly and struck me as a good guy to know. The last time I saw him we all were at dinner and he was constantly cracking me up with his comments. It's tragic how he went out. I know he'll be missed greatly by all. Blue skies Lee. I beg to differ...the PS3 is backwards compatable with most PS 1 and 2 games ..... Giving it a freaking hugh selection Be advised that only the more expensive 80gb version is backwards compatible. Correct, the original 80gb PS3 had the actual chips for being able to play the PS1 & 2 games on it. Sony got cheap when they did the first round of price reductions and got rid of the chips. Backwards compatibility is now handled by emulation that doesn't work all that well. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793

1: Yes 2: Yes If all you want the PS3 for is DVD playback and music then I'd suggest an upconverting DVD player. They're cheaper than a PS3. If you want to play games, the Xbox360 has a bigger library available. If you want to watch movies in HD then the PS3 is again something to consider since it has an integrated Blu-Ray player. One thing to consider about HD movies is that the format war isn't close to being over and you may want to wait until things are more definite before purchasing movies in one format or the other. Plus the HD movies are generally more expensive than the DVDs. Hope this helps. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793

It helps if we don't have 2 freefliers in the plane and the pilot doesn't cut the engine a mile out from the dz. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793 -

I was working on my AFF levels all through winter and the cold didn't bother me. The key is to layer up. You won't feel the cold during freefall but you may under canopy. My layering system includes, a tight sweat wicking base layer, a long sleeve shirt, a fleece pullover, and then my jumpsuit. For my legs, a sweat wicking base layer, jeans, and jumpsuit works well. Get a good pair of gloves that will keep your hands warm under canopy but still allow enough tactile feeling to be able to handle all normal and emergency procedures. I find using silk or some other thin insulating liner along with with baseball or football style gloves works well. The key is leather or some other material for the palms that won't let wind cut through it. Get a good thick pair of wool or synthetic socks. For your exposed area around your head and neck I recommend a gaiter or balcalva. If you do some searching you will find tons of threads discussing jumping in winter and how others keep warm. Good luck! Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793

How about having other activities available at the dropzones for the days when we're weathered out. A tunnel would be awesome. I think having permanent training schools & instructors for disciplines such as freeflying, canopy piloting, CReW, & instructor ratings would be a big draw for jumpers.
