Really did NOT learn to search, but I got lucky on that one - everything was in one place. I have had an INTERESTING evening. In fact an unbelievable 2 hours. During a coversation with a gentleman - I asked him about the Fountainblue ( I do not know how to spell it any more). The conversation that ensued had me glue on his every word. Wish I had been able to record it and I cannot spell or pronounce some of the names. I am not even sure what any of it means and I won't even try to relate it in the thread - I would really sound stupid, but I would like to talk to someone about it. John Collins was in Miami during the 60's and the names I have run by the FBI and others over the yrs....are real. Will it prove Duane was Cooper - No, but I really need to discuss these things with someone. Names I told the FBI about - people Duane knew - he really did know them and knew them well...how and why if he was not involved in something "strange". Duane received a paycheck from one of the individuals (which the FBI had knowledge of if they investigated Duane's past). There was a W-2 from one of these guys who lived in the Miami area and the so called business address was out of Arkansas if I remember correctly without pulling files. Absolutely no way I could possible relate this in the thread but Duane had ties to the Fountainblue...and to "individuals" in the area. Farflung - to borrow your expression I have not heard in a long time "Jeeze Louise" what the hell did I step into today? The FBI probably would NOT even take my phone call if I did call them, but I really need to talk to someone about this. Who can research the name Ray Griffin? This was NOT the only name, but the one I can prove a connection to in Black and White. Our trip to Miami has always haunted me and Duane's OBVIOUS connection to certain individuals while we were there. The woman by the name of J. Meier (correct spelling) and that darn Yacht we went out on...and the owner or manager of the Fountainblue during the 80's. Things I personally witnessed regarding Duane Weber or John Collins. All I can say is what I have said before, but now I know there was more to this and the FBI did NOT acknowledge this or they just plain MISSED it because they didn't feel it had anything to do with Cooper. Another post by Sheridan replying to Snowmman. You see why I think Bulldog is an imposture - OUR Sheridan had already addressed this in the past and Bulldog just does NOT sound like Sheridan - note the difference in the use of the English language. Several years ago I was quite chagrin to learn that Bruce Smith had phoned my brother and crazy sister-in-law and printed their conversation on the site. So shocking. I several interesting tales that occurred to me the other day, but I'll save them until later. My nick name for much of my adult life was Pete, not Dan. It's interesting that so many people still imagine that D.B. Cooper is still alive. I thought that I solved that issue. I sent an email the other day to the drop zone in Cloverdale about 16 miles from here. They are a bit dubious about letting an 85 year old geezer make a jump and I sure and hell am not going to make a tandom. Well, I am a bit hesitant having osteperosis. Carr and Smith are FBI I assume. As for Peterson's stories that occurred to him the other day and he said he would save them till later - well, I for one would love to meet Pete in person and listen to and record all of the stories he can tell about his past - I personally think it is fascinating. This is the past that will just disappear into oblivion and the new generations will have no records of the early days of skydiving or the experiences caucasions faced with their involvement during the days of intergration. A good example is how little there is on the early days of forestry and smokejumping. Absolutely nothing to speak of on the Camino and Snowline areas. The records have been mininized, lost and thrown way. No one recorded these things in history. What is left of the history has been dispursed to different Fire districts in lots of states - Nothing was compiled in sequence and order and in its entirety, I regret I was NOT interested in the past before Duane died - I didn't realize he held History within his memories of prisons and what life was like back in the 20's and 30's. I was NOT looking back - only forward and now I realize how important the past is and was. Wish I could just travel back in time and redo my life...knowing what I know to day. I would have recorded everyday of my life no matter how insignifcant it was to me. I would have questioned everyone I met about their life and any involvment with any thing of historical interests. Wish I could remember the stories my great grandsmother used to tell about a wagon trains and the Indians - Now all of that is lost except the fragments I do remember. They contacted me through Sluggo, but supposedly told Bruce that I would not give them the rights to any photos. I did NOT tell them that - I agreed to give them more than they had just as long as they were ACCURATE in what they said about WEBER. Look at Wikepeda - that is NOT accurate, but I can't change it..because I don't know how to make the references they require. Things Bruce said are not accurate about Weber either. Belvins references his BOOK? What could I do that I could reference, probabley the only place I have ever been able to tell most of the story has been at Dropzone.com. All the other subjects have book references that are fiction and with authors promoting their subject - HOW objective is that. All I asked for was for them to run what they were going to say about Weber and let me proof it for ACCURACY - not he said and she said nor would I change anything unless it was absurdly inaccurate. Such as Weber confessed on his death bed 5 days before he died (How Many times to I have to tell people it was 11 DAYS before he died) and he was not on drugs during that entire time. Remember he was hiding the morphine tablets in his pillow and stupid me told the nurses - yet, when I found them he told me we had to go for a ride and he had something he had to talk to me about. Well, when I told the nurses he wasn't taking his pills they checked his mouth and then put a patch on him and he was gone in 48 hours. I guess he wasn't dieing fast enough for them. Stupid me didn't realize what they were doing. I am sad and tired tonight - Too much Crap! The FBI is crappy and life is crappy....why can't anyone get the facts about the crime straight and keep them straight. No one owns a monoply on doing Slide Presentations. Why don't you tell the thread what I proposed for the TV program you said wanted to interview me. Since I did NOT want to be on the program - I suggested a slide presentatation presenting some to the things I have regarding Weber versus Cooper. I did NOT even want my voice to be heard and suggested they take my words and have someone else repeat them. NOW, you are doing a slide presentation on KC! You have used this thread and everyone in it and you will NEVER ever acknowledge anyone of them or your participation in this thread...and that the DZ basically had to teach you the fundamentals of the crime and point out your errors. . ================= I have looked at the 1962 Canon Release photo with an objective attitude. My impression now is NO different than it was the first time I saw this in 1999 when Doug Pasternac sent it to me. It makes me feel sad for the young man I now know to have been 37 yrs old and had spent most of his adult life in prison. I see a slumped shoulder Duane who appears to be much younger than 37 yrs of age and a guy who is happy and sad at the same time. The profile shot shows a slumped shoulder Duane I never knew until his last yrs. Until Duane started dialysis in 1990 he was a proud man and he did not slouch. I have noted in the beach picture his wife of the days sent to me - that he seems slight of build - but, later pictures seem to show a different demeanor. The man I married had a completely different look and build. Yes, I can look at the face, but when I look at the body I do not see the Duane L. Weber I was married to. I would not meet Duane until 1977 - that is 15 yrs later. That change started according to the photos his wife sent me around 1970. The Duane Weber I knew - was a business man and a man who everyone liked. He held his shoulders - up he was proud of his accomplishments, but ALWAYS gave the credit to others. I wish I had a recording of the impromtu acceptance speech he made in St. Thomas. He gave the credit to his guys and to me - he was very humbled by the award. Admittedly he did have some confidence issues until 1984 when he threw them away with abandonment after he opened the Virginia office. He actually got in touch with his sister because he needed to share this with her. I now know that was to let her know he was OK with his life and he was SAFE. Note the profile in the Canon Release photo - the NOSE is NOT pronounced. But he has a big big smile - he is wearing that smile I fell in love with and all who knew him, remember his mischievious grin. P.S. I have a couple of pictures - NO one will ever get out of me - he looks like Mafia in those pictures...made between 1970 and 1975 - I did not and do not understand those photos. I guess trying to fit in with whatever he was doing and who he was associated with. Perhaps just the mode of dress in those days, but I was single from 1971 until 1978 - but, if I had met him dressed the way he was in those photos - there would never have been a 1st date much less a 2ed date. The Canon release photo will always cause me to feel sadness. The photo you guys brought forward with the 1957 arrest in St. Pete again is sad. He gave his occupation as "Crook" - can anyone imagine what it must have been like to spend the prime of your life in prison. It is hard for me to believe the man I married and the Duane in those photos are one and the same. How could I have NOT know this for 17 yrs? Did he change that much? Was I just blind? How did he manage to hold Insurance Licenses in several states? I guess most important - what WAS it that turned his life around? It was NOT me nor my daughter. Where we just a shield? Was our marriage his way of "Staying Low" ? When he left CO he could have just left and not have moved us to AL where he went in 1980 after the "Money Find" was published in the Denver Post. I think he was afraid he had said too much on that "Sentimental Journey" and that I would read more in the papers or see something on TV he could not shield me from. He knew in all of his heart of hearts that I would have turned him in...and I would have - that is just how I am made. The FBI has NOT proved that Duane L. Weber was not Cooper and that he was not involved. He knew TOO much not to have been Cooper or to have had a knowledge of the crime beyond "just reading about it". Duane Weber was hands on in 1971 and there is NO alibi or any explanation for his knowledge of the area and his making those fateful stops at the Columbia River in 1979. That is how the money got to Tina's bar. I have gone back to my old accountings - the orginal accounting before my mind was tainted by pictures and what I was told and read. My first wks trying to get the FBI to listen to me. I made tapes of my memories of the trip...I am crying as I remember (note I had NO maps of the area at that time). I describe our stops - and also know that the only thing I knew about Tina's bar was what was in a book of fiction, yet I described the place. There was the first place he goes down to the water - down a steep incline and then the Large Green tank and then under a tressel and along the river. He makes another stop and then we go to the Red Lion where he threw the paper bag in the water. I wish I had gone back to that tape yrs and yrs ago - it would have shut another party up right away - but I allowed my memory to be "played" with by others. I had little access to any kind of research and depended on Himmelsbach and another party. In 1998 the FBI basically dismissed Weber and that is when I started to research any thing I could get my hands on - but, most of it was just futile phone calls to Himmelsbach. I thought he was telling the FBI everything - but, I now realize he did not. Had the FBI not have lied to me in 2000 with me holding proof of what I was stating, I could have walked away. That LIE by that FBI agent proved to me that they had NOT investigated the past of Weber and REALLY didn't know who he was - just an ex-con they dismissed. It was ONLY after that phone conversation in 2000 that the FBI actually HAD to re-investigate the background of WEBER, because the article came out in the US News and World Reports. Or did they just use what the agent found prior to 1998 when they sent me that letter...and I kept calling them about the things I found - but, in 2000 the agent WAS unaware of actual records - criminal and military?????????????????????????????????????????????????????? That will ALWAYS forever leave an impression with me and anyone else who knows the struggle I have made to be heard. March of 2000 the FBI agent had NO knowledg of Duane's Army record and claimed Weber was never in McNeil - and I am on the other end of the phone holding ACTUAL government Documentation that stated otherwise. Oh, there was a communication later where he admits his error - but, by then it was TOO late. The Deed was Done. Fed-up with the FBI and the desk agents - the "mouthpieces". They answer the phone and have no real knowledge of the crime in question - such as the mouthpiece Blevins talks to. That man is NOT the agent of record and these desk "agents" only know what is on the screen they read from. If you think they even relate your information to the agent of record - you do not live in the REAL world..most of us are on that ignore list. Knowing the above, I question Georger having knowledge of anything being omitted from the composites unless he is FBI, CIA or some kind of operative or in an advisory position with the government. The Quality on this release photo is not good, but it shows the shoes. They do not seem to be shoes, but pull-on moccassins or pull-on boots - worn thin. The pants were 2 sizes or more too large and too long. The beach photo. Have YOU ever had a picture taken on the beach in the sand? Sand is not level. There are pictures of my other husbands, my kids, myself and others on the beach - NO one is stand erect. It is NOT uncommon to shift weight when you pose for a picture in sand or otherwise. Every picture in my album - NO one is standing perfectly straight. I even viewed photo's from old family reunions from when I was a kid and my aunts and uncles and one of a boyfriend - NO one is standing erect like they are in a line-up. Everyone is comfortable. Now I will tell you about Duane's knee. He did NOT limp until he broke his leg in 1994 (have the hospital report on that). He stumbled over a parking block at a convenience store. He was tired and dragging his feet after getting out of dialysis - this was when he was still driving himself to dialysis. Until he broke that leg I had rarely driven him to treatment - he drove himself - 12 miles each way after 4 hours on the machine. What was different about the knee? It had large veins in it on the inside of the knee - they were grotesque and I figured from an injury - he would never say anymore than "I hurt it one time"...until that day in 1995. He NEVER complained about the knee and he did Not favor it until age and the disease took its toll on him. Frankly right now I cannot tell you which knee it was, because time has taken it's toll on my memories. I am sure someone asked me this yrs ago and recorded my answer. I have probably written about it, but today - I don't remember. Duane also had a scar on his hand - but again I do not remember which one - that scar was noted on one of the prison records. Duane himself pointed out the scar to me AFTER 1990 and until then I had not noticed in our 12 yrs of marriage . I do remember he was on the back porch and he had mentioned something he had said before -"I have something famous named after me". My usual reply was "Yea, Weber Grills" and he would say no more. I just thought it was a joke. Duane tried to tell me about his life after he went on diaylsis in 1990 - but, I was too busy working to keep the income coming in. I never understood where his money came from 1990 to 1995. He only collected a small SS check and had the shop. Since little merchandise moved from that shop - I really now believe it was a front to cover the money he retrived from a safe deposit box or from black mail in 1990 (what I think the Salt Lake Photo was all about). There was a one way plane ticket bought on our credit card. but he claimed he didn't do it. After dealing for 9 months with the credit card company they kept putting it back on the bill. Duane told me to pay it. Strange thing - there was NO profit in the shop until after that little trip out of Tallahassee, FL. to a mid-west State. Hint the state or city started with an O. This trip occurred AFTER he acquired a more current John Collins ID. Why did he need that John Collins ID so badly he risked being found out by applying for the drivers license? The attempt to acquire that license got him put under 72 hour observation instead of jail - because the Renal Dr involved a phycologist and we explained it away. Why didn't they run a background check on Duane at that time? Then within a short period of time he DID acquire a current John Collins ID - the ones found in the Van after Duane died. How did he get that ID? He used the name and address of a real John Collins in our area...the sheriffs office nor the FBI ever offered me any assistance in how he did that...he had been dead for 1 yr and 2 months. They had other things to do. When I contacted the REAL John Collins - I was told the home had been broken into but, nothing of value was taken. A subsequent call later resulted in different story from another occupant of the home? In other words I got no answers that made any sense.

I thought I had posted it but was unable to find a search to do it. Searching with computers is a very weak point with me because I did not own one until 2000. My daughter who live with us for several yrs - has stated she was unaware of Duane having a limp or there being anything unusal about his gate. Duane did NOT have a bad hip. Hell, I have had one hip lower than the other all of my life and it never gave me any trouble - just meant I had to hem one pant leg shorter than the other. Many people have this problem, but it did NOT keep them out of the service in the 40's. The slight backward knee as I have found it was called back in the day - would NOT have prevented Duane from doing anything anyone else could. I have never tried to hide this - and I have discussed it. Duane was NOT top heavy in 1971 - not the bathing suit photo. I know that photo was taken during Duane's time with one of his wives - prior to 1971 and after 1968. REMEMBER THIS - the FBI never allowed me to see Weber's intake or outtake photos from Jefferson. WONDER WHY? WHAT did THE FBI AND OTHERS HAVE TO HIDE ABOUT WEBER'S STAY AT JEFFERSON? I do NOT remember the post the swim suit photo appeared in - so would someone take me to the post it was in. I have a reason to know. I do not remember posting that photo. You know exactly what Paperlegs refers to and it had NOTHING to do with Duane - but HE was Richard Petersen and he was incharge of the communication for "In Plane Site" and the program in Co. from 1962 until 1972. Where were you during all of these discussions? Was Paperlegs one of your selective ignores? WHY? You yourself are very skilled in communications! OR did that elude you also? If you spent more time on looking into Duane's past in 1996 when I contacted the FBI you wouldn't need to keep trying to discredit me. All the things you say and do makes one wonder - WHO is Georger? Why is he so BENT on DISMISSING Weber? Why did my Salt Lake photo incite you so badly? He would be in his early to mid 70's today, if I gaged the age correctly. Georger Stated: Until a few days ago (to my knowledge) Jo Weber had never posted a full head-to-toe photo of Duane Weber, and none is available at Google except for one small prison photo of Duane which does not show his shoes. Finally Jo posted a full photo and something caught several people's attention - Jo has always said Duane had a bad knee injured, he said, in an airplane accident, or from bailing out. Jo replies: I have never said it was a "bad" knee injury - I have never described it. It appeared to be different (I will describe this at a later date) and he did NOT complain about it. When I asked him about his knee was when I was taking him to the Hospital when I was putting his long John's and pants on him. I asked him about the knee - commenting that he had never told me how he "messed" it up. His statement at that time was "I got it Jumping out of a plane". My comment back to him was "You jump out of a plane - give me a break!" [Blue]He would again at the hospital 2 wks later try to tell me about jumping out of plane. The Dr had just told me he would expire in about 5 days and I was distraught and did NOT listen to him or understand what he was talking about. He would live for 11 days after that conversation - the Conversation in which he got MAD and said "Oh, F--- let it die with me". =============== Georger Stated: Jo has always told us Duane was in perfect health and fit and atheletic. But, the photo Jo posted several days ago is strange in several respects. The photo appears to show Duane's 'bad knee', or something else. Jo Asks: What photo are you talking about? Also I have never stated he was in "perfect" health. He was taking high blood pressure medication when I met him. ==================== Georger States: Photo No.1 is a prison photo of Duane at Canon City. Note his left leg lagging slightly behind the right in the side view and his slightly bent posture. In his frontal view note how Duane's right leg appears straight but there is slack in his left leg. Jo Replies: I saw nothing unusual in that prison photo and by the way the original DOES show his shoes. In fact I have commented on how ragged the footwear was they released him in and they were unusual footwear. Georger States: Now look at Photos No.2 titled Paperlegs. I chose the title Paperlegs because that is the word Jo used for one of Duane's supposed unamed (unfindable) friends. Jo Retorts: You know that I am referring to Paperlegs Petersen! Georger states: Note Duane's posture and of the position of his left leg in both photos at different ages. Duane's posture and his leg position do not look normal in these photos. Some hip or knee issue looks possible. Jo States: I have mentioned before that Duane's picture always gave the impression of backward knee syndrome. Professor or Dr. Georger, I think you know exactly what that is and it in no way hindered his activities. ================== Georger States: Not one witness in the Cooper case, who saw Cooper at the airport, at the ticket counter, standing in line, walking on to the airplane, or in the airplane seated or standing or moving around - reported anything out of the ordinary in the person's posture, gate, or mobility. Not one thing. And Cooper was middle aged. Jo States: I have not said that Duane walked with a gate or a limp. If he did it was NOT visible to me. He did walk with a limp and a cane during his last yrs because of the renal failure. He fell and broke his leg during the later part of his life - I have the hospital report if you care to read it. This was about 1 yr before he died. As you are well aware the kidney treatment affects the bones - causing their bones to become very brittle. The natural aging process also contributes to this, also. I have mentioned this broken leg (approx 1994) before because he was recouperating from that incident when I found the TICKET in the box of 1990 tax files I was cleaning out over his objections and he said he would do it later. I dumped the box on the bed and started to sort. You know the rest of story and if not - it is in this thread someplace.
