See, I'd like to know your hardware setup as mentioned by the poster below you. Understanding with a lot of background programs trying to boot up with higher tech. software, at the same time, vista is a very demanding program. The thing is, though it demands sufficient hardware, it doesn't drain it if you've got it. I call myself lucky b/c I'm on the Tech. Saavy side of things and have built every computer I've ever owned, and being in college, I got Vista Premium and/or Ultimate for $20. I hear a lot of peeps say it's slow, but then my mom's damn 6 year old computer only died, I only put in a new processor, upped her ram a bit, and tested Vista on her computer, and it's Flawless. It's great for people like her though, b/c Vista will hold your hand and pull you along in order to do what you want to do, but at the same time, peeps like me can disable the "Hold my hand mommy feature" and work wonders w/ it. Sorry to hear about the problems, and if there are anymore, feel free to add me to your friends list and I will be more than happy to help. I see that you signed on to the Experts exchange, meaning you gotta know at least a lil something (lol) so this last part of the post was for the "lack-there-of" vista users. Cheers and Those things that are blue and above your head!!!

Nope, I love my Vista, but then again, I've done some backdoor editing to the programs to do EXACTLY what I want them to do w/ Vista. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

Let a friend pack for me, "wanted to give it a shot at packing a Katana". Well, tired me, got off work at 7am and proceeded to jumping had the "I don't care" mood, gave him some pointers and let him have at it. Pulled, very brisk opening for a katana, but not a slammer. Immediately went into line twists...and you put 2 and 2 together. Ground, sky, ground, sky...and stayed on sky (what I could see) where I had to look back to see my canopy and literally said to myself, "Well, here we go" and "cachink, slam, boom, bang, kung-pao chicken" or whatever noises you imagine it making. Didn't even feel the reserve come off my back, it was so smooth (no RSL). Friend followed me down into a tobacco field (the one who packed it) and another friend followed the canopy down into the adjacent field, where a tractor w/ Redneck Brown almost decided to keep going and plow over my canopy...BOY WOULD I HAVE BEEN A SAD BABY. BTW...I kept my handles, lol!!!!! Sorry, still lil' excited about it. And I'm not blaming the mal on my buddy's packing. He's not an inexperienced guy, just a different type of canopy. It could have been his packing, my body position (was a fuck jump where we all bailed at 5 grand and chilled out w/ a staggered pull, in only tshirt and shorts) or a combo of both. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

The hell w/ weekend numbers, bought a new Katana, put 3 jumps on it, then the 4th one ended up in my first cutaway and I'm the first person to ever cutaway at my DZ... I had a fucking blast...now I'm bored and at work!!! I can't even enjoy the beer I buyded. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

It's a TonFly box, and is basically just like the Cookie boxes for my camera, except it doesn't have a tripod screw or holes cut in the back. If I can't get the camera fixed, then sure I can do that, but I really like the fact that my camera is completely surrounded w/ no holes in the box. Now the tripod screw might be a good idea any way but... w/e. Anyone else got a personal reference for repairmen? ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

Yup, but with my type of box, that's not a smart idea. Thanks, but not the answer to the question I asked!! ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

So I did a search and found nothing really helpful. My PC1000's lanc port became "loose" at Skyfest, which was a fucking bummer. Had to turn the cam on in the plane before exit, and film all the way down. I've tried doing some online research to find repair shops and stuff and found nothing, and the local camera store won't get back to me whether they can fix it and for what price. Does anyone either repair, or have access/recommendations to a good/great/trustworthy camera repair business/person. Please help ASAP, I'm out of a job w/o my Cameye capabilities!!!! ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

I actually sent my lady friend to the store today for some "Mystic Mountain Blueberry" cuz it sure is delicious...she apparently couldn't find any...but damn if she didn't make me a label and hand it to me. I think I'd take everything that has been placed in said pot via this forum and put it in a blender...after all, it should all meld together...right? iambeav2 replied to shropshire's topic in Gear and Rigging
I'm thinking the sub-100 velo's would be good for you, or maybe a JVX... I heard the openings are real nice and great for long spots. Also a very beginner to intermediate canopy, am I right guys? (Please please please...can you smell that? Yeah, it's sarcasm.) ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you! -
Haha, that was one of my mottos told to me by my boss... "We aim to please...but we can't all be sharp shooters". You need to come to the home of the Beef when you cross the pond (again?). AND...you need to help liven up that community too...!!! Though not as long as you, I've witnessed ALMOST all of those events...entertaining at the time of drunken thought...until something happens. Watched a guy drop a beer bottle from the top of the beacon and hit the guy on the bottom about to climb up...everyone got sober REAL quick... ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
