And there's a '99 Sabre 1 at my DZ with less than 200 on it. I know cuz it used to be mine and I traded the jumper, who still jumps there for a bad purchase decision he made (too small a canopy/rig combo). He only has put 50 on it and it's still slick as shit!!! They are 2 Velcro pockets on your mudflaps. (One on each, duh!!). I am getting mine with snaps instead of velcro...trying to keep velcro off the rigs, lol. Tony at Velocity said they are big enough for like a cellphone/deck of cards kinda size. Great for extra bands or pullup cords...or your cellphone if you trust not getting hit and the snaps coming off. Not dropping them at all...I went to the tunnel meet and needed to get a jump in during the day, so I went there. I know all to well "If you don't like it, don't go." and therefore I don't go. I was just adding to forsaken b/c apparently nobody seemed to believe that he wasn't checked. I wasn't unhappy that I wasn't checked at all...but def. didn't get the "Welcome, this is what you should know about this DZ" that I think every DZ should do. You know, just a few things here and there. I am in no way flaming, as stated in my original, but it was my only option to go to for the tunnel meet. Any other occassion, I just choose not to go there. Now on top of that, I know the jumper hurt as do many here, and I'm just saying, what if another 50ish to 75ish jumper decided to go out here, after her main DZ was a Cessna DZ and knew nothing about anything...and got no advice or guidance, something similar could happen. Sorry to make it SEEM as if I was shitting on this DZ, and I honestly am not. Ok, can't lurk anymore. I may or may not know any of the posters in this thread except for the OP...but I was at Raeford this past weekend and I had "Forsaken"'s experience...I walked up and asked Tony where to sign up to jump (I've jumped in NC all my career, but never at Raeford). He said go to manifest. The lady there, VERY nice yes, gave me a slip of paper to fill out and told me to go get my shit checked out at the school. Walked in there, saw Tony again, asked him to look at my stuff b/c manifest said so. He asked me, "Is it in date", and I said yeah...and he said it was fine. I never even took my gear bag off my back to get the rig out. I walked back up, handed her my slip and 25$ and proceeded to jump by myself. Was spoken to ONLY by people I knew previously, none of the standard Raeford crew. I had to ask if there was any designated swoop, tandem, student area and which type of pattern there was...and it was hard to get this outta some people. So, just to add and hopefully not flame...I got the "no verification" service. I didn't even have to whip out my card to prove I was a USPA member or licensed jumper. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

To add to your dog story...I still have every coller from my past best friends. I screamed at my roomy one time b/c (this was over xmas) my mom gave me Zip's coller and he thought it was a new coller for Coleman and put it on Coleman. Though an honest mistake, it hit home hard. I've been a CNA/Paramedic/CPhT for years (got the first 2 when I was 18. I know CPhT isn't much...unless you're in home infusion. I get to talk w/ many patients in the comfort of their own home...but the worst was being a CNA at a nursing home. Not all pt's there are vegetized, and I enjoyed talking to some... One day, I closed shift after I got outta school and was talking to one of my pt's who used to be a Dr. He confided into me about the pt's he let go b/c they wanted to...the pt's that he was good friends with and had shit going on and they were like..."Can we fake something and you kill me" kinda shit. THAT was wierd to me, b/c for one they were his friends...and for 2, he said he lost count...I was a little frieked to say the least. I've had a few more of those types of stories from other pt's. I just try and forget about it, however hard it may be. Kinda like if I said, HEY, I KILLED SOMEONE TODAY...and if you KNEW me...it'd be hard to let that just "go away". Luckily for my morals and sanity, I forgot the Dr's name and never had the interest of finding out who he was...but the stories still stuck. I've got around 500 jumps now, started jumping 3 years ago, and am assistant DZO at my DZ now...now u have my true credentials, but until I have the jumps or years in the sport to not be haggled by the godliest of gods, ill keep those credentials like they are. Not a stab at you...but the only reason that is falsified is b/c I had some questions to ask and didn't wanna get harrassed about asking back when i had so few jumps. It's all good, I just quit my fucking job today. Actually got begged to stay and not go..."It'll put us in a bind and we need you..." Pfftt...weren't saying that when they were threatening to give no raise and force me to change shifts all together...now they got bigger problems...hope you find the same satisfaction as I did somewhere!!!
