  1. I would think if you are able to walk on it you're fine to jump it especially if its only a tandem jump since you'll more than likely land on your butt. I would talk to both your doctor and local dropzone as well.
  2. I posted this in another thread already, but all my last weekend clips are with CX7, two freeflying http://youtube.com/user/kaidokert Yes, there is shaking in sitfly, none noticeable in tandem shot. I can upload the original HQ files on demand. Either your helmet is loose or there is noticible shaking in that tandem video as well...
  3. If I could get some tech drawings of the OIS I would be willing to open the camera up and fix the sucker so it wont move. I wish I could speak with someone at Sony that could get me this info cause I love this camera but I'm about to sell it at this point.
  4. Wrong. It has Mini-HDMI right on the camera. $6 cable from monoprice.com works great with my HDTV. Since when was a wide angle lens optional for filming skydives? I suppose you could get away with it but why would you even try?
  5. You are not alone. I've seen the shake on a top mounted CX7 with the OIS turned on. It only had a problem in a sit fly though. Head down and belly were good. Once I get a Cookie box, I'll be trying to sit with the OIS turned off. As far as other ideas, I'm at a loss. This weekend i tested the CX7 with a Cookie box in various positions. Terrible image shaking during feet down flying. Tested with IS turned OFF, haven't tried with it ON yet. But seems to me CX7 is a very poor choice for feet down flying.... I may will post a video sample later Seeing the same results in a sit as well. Setting the focus to infinity, OIS off, and landscape mode helped quite a bit but there is still some shaking. Century lens fits in the cookie box with a small amount of trimming.
  6. That is pretty much what I did... working on a clip to connect the one piece to the pad...
  7. I posted a thread about this already... seems its not possible to remove without cutting.
  8. I wish you would have posted this about 4 hours earlier!!! I will post back tomorrow about the Century .5 weather it fits in the cookie box or not.
  9. how many bottles will we need this year??? Hope you get to be there Jami...
  10. I wish I was already at Skyfest. Granted. But the emergency lobotomy procedure erased most of your memory so you go to Texas instead of NC for Skyfest. I wish I had a Safire2 canopy in my jazzy navy, hot pink & neon green colors! Granted but it has no lines attached to it... I wish for a world record in freeflying.
  11. This line speaks loads about your experience level. If you are on final you can't change your pattern as you've already flown 2/3 of your pattern. You just changed direction. If you've downsized already it wasn't really a downsize it was just getting you off a canopy that was way to big for you to begin with. Are you even loading your STUDENT canopy @ 1 to 1 yet? How many different dropzones have you landed at so far? If you have jumped at more than one DZ how did it feel the first time you jumped at a dropzone you hadn't landed at before? Multiply that feeling by a good 50x to understand what its like to have no idea what is happening on the ground where you are about to land.
  12. I come up with 2 for sure and *maybe* 3 - rear risers. My 1st choise for turn (into the wind or whatever) until I un-stow the brakes. - brakes. - weight shift? Maybe works haven't try it and I wont try it during the snivel. With brakes stowed front risers pressure its impossible. Front risers Rear risers Brakes Harness I think he is counting left and right as seperate...
  13. I'd still be a whinee little bitch that doesn't appreciate how great life is... I wouldn't know the beauty that is a bright blue sky on a warm Saturday afternoon. I would still be wandering aimlessly towards death. I wouldn't know what having a passion really feels like. I wouldn't have goals to obtain, great friends to love, or anything to do on weekends except work.
  14. Thanks for the info... I was going to buy that lens soon! Glad I waited... I hope the 5050 will fit.
  15. oh snap I am anxiously awaiting this!!! Do you have a cookie box to test the lense fitment?
  16. I beleive that is the one that was just talked about recently there is a thread already... It dosent have a lense mount so probably not going to be a skydiving accepted model. Shame really that thing is tiny.
  17. The camera will not fit in the cookie box with the strap. I am going to figure out a hook and latch connection as well. I cut my strap at the point where it is sewn to the ring on the pad thingy.
  18. Side mounting isnt exactly going to be pretty the camera is quite a wide load especially with a cookie box.
  19. Think I'm going to cut the seam at the attachment point to the pad and sew in some velcro... Thanks for the idea! And thanks for the replies everyone...
  20. Searched all over and cant find any info on removing it... I have 5 screws out and the retaining plug around the strap out but even with force I cant find a way to remove it. I'd rather not cut it...

    how the hell

Check out irfanview.. awesomely powerful free image software.
  22. Do you have any info on boxes for the CX7 other than Cookie?
  23. Th 2nd gen MR2 was actaully turbo-charged and there are non-turbo ones that get decent mileage. The 1st gen MR2 was super-charged but again there were more non-supercharged ones and they got great gas mileage.
  24. They pretty much have that already, but it's not GPS - it uses cell towers to triangulate your position, and you can use it in the "maps" function to figure out where you are, and as a starting point for directions. http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/index.html#map GPS would be cooler and more accurate for sure, but it's not a bad alternative for people that live in the US. supposedly the next gen of iPhone is going to have a true GPS receiver...
