  1. Perhaps you remember my all pink 170 Flash (Sabre copy, half F111, half ZP) loaded 1.5. I have jumped this canopy BD 99. The opening was acceptable and the landing....well, I walked away and stayed dry. jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  2. I recently found a german company, which offers a optional cutaway system for their helmets: www.skyhelmets.de but I can not tell you anything about how the system works, because I only saw pictures of their helmets on the homepage. jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  3. Skreamer`s article is brilliant and my experiences during my FJC, made before and during the Labor Day Weekend, let me agree with all of it. So here just a few remarks: I ordered my gear from Morpheus Technologies and so also took the Morpheus FJC. The course started on thursday and I managed to get 8 jumps (1 PCA, 1 static line, 1 stowed, rest handheld) till monday with one windy day off. Kathy and Robert from Morpheus were awesome and really patient especially when teaching me how to pack. When the course was over on saturday, they still supervised my jumps till monday and took care of my packing. Again thank you for that. My mistakes: I totally underestimated the part "physical fitness" during my preparation for the course. Parking your car near the bridge, jump to the boat waiting for you down there and driving up again sounds not very demanding. But there are the openings. All my jumps were slider down and for me it was really hard to get used to the opening shock. Later in the course my factory diver felt like it was several pounds heavy. On the day of departure I was not even able to raise my head when trying to get up in the morning. Not to speak from the rest of my body. And I did not even jump with a camera So being in a very good physical condition would have changed this a little and at the moment I am working on this part. Beside my lacking physical fitness my poor packing skills really slowed down my jumping. Packing this really big BASE canopy is completely different comparing to my skydiving canopy, which I used to trash in ten minutes. I have read this before, I have been told this before, now after the course I really know it. But I had a great time, met a lot of great and helpful people and found a sport which will for sure take a central part in my future live. jo
  4. Here is a photo I found on the Internet showing the new main unit. You can't tell much about the real size, but you can compare it to the rest which seems like the old ones. jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  5. Hi. Does anyone have experience with the packing volume of a Stiletto compared to a Crossfire 2? On the websites of the manufactures a Crossfire 129 has about the same cuinch like a Stiletto 150 (364). I know that the packing volume is hard to mesure and that it varies with conditions, but do you have to upsize your container, when buying a Crossfire and you want to stick with the same size? jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  6. Here is my try: after 4 years of testing: beginning with the new season (in germany spring/summer), this new helmet will be avaiable. Very light, 2 mm thick, antifog, flip up Lexan (?)Visor. Visor can be locked with pins. Probably the most advance sightpossibility of all avaible helmets. Three different inlays to make the helm fit to all possible heads (sizes and forms). There is no price mentioned. Hope that helps jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  7. hope the attachment worked. It shows my Javelin OJ packed with the 150 Stiletto. jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  8. I bought a OJ two weeks ago from the stock list and put a brand new (2 Jumps) 150 Stiletto into it. It is a little tight but it is possible and as grosfion mentioned, if you are a good packer, it is no problem. jo "comedy is tragic plus time"
  9. I have two jumps on a Speed 150 (DOM 1991) and have no complaints about this reserve. The first jump was a cutaway and the reserve worked very well. The second one was a high speed opening (someone accidently pulled my reservehandle while doing a 10-way) without any problems. Although I loaded the Speed @ 1.5, the landings, flaring were acceptable. I still use it today.
  10. I also plan to buy a G3 or G4 and would like to hear something about the delivery times. Is the 4 weeks they mentioned on their website realistic. thanks in advance jo
