There's just something about a tiny girl you can pick up and pin against the wall. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

I'll send this to my rigger. I jump with a Swift Plus, he should have something. Hell, he found the original manual for my Sweet Hog. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

Here's a closer pic Under normal conditions we come from the west, turn North and turn West for the final leg. Now with light winds turning onto the final leg at the treeline sitting at 800 feet with an exit weight of 204 under a Clipper 194 (f-111, manufactured in 84) I'll end up in the trees on the other side of the landing area. You can't tell from the pics, but the field slopes down to the west and south of the orange arrow it drops off pretty good. Not to mention it isn't mowed all the way to the trees anymore. And don't forget about the barbwire fence, right Guy? (where's he been?) Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

Dougie, when did you start sit flying? I don't know if you got the email, but i'm trying to get some tunnel time this Friday. Might be transitioning to sitflying. Might have to push it off a week or two. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

I'm 6'2 and there's just something about girls under 5'6 that gets me going. Something about being able to throw them around so easily. Learn to be happy. That's what happens when you can't fire people for incompetance. Either that or they get promoted so their supervisors don't have to deal with them. But somehow they manage to fire the guys that know every aspect of the job and could run the entire operation by them selves. Probably because they get payed quite a bit more. It's all about the bottom numbers. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

Water while you are drinking, chug some pedialyte before bed and upon waking up. Greasy drunk food helps a bunch too. Or just drink homebrews, plenty of B vitamines (yeast), got to drink a whole lot more to get to the hangover point. Altho if you aren't used to it, you might not have such a pleasant welcome to the laxative affects of live yeast. Pre loading on B vitamines, and again before bed really helps. Mixing up a glass of brewer's yeast is an old remedy. Of course moderation is the best option. Learn to be happy. The tunnel can be used as a great learning tool, but I don't really think it's going to help you much. What type of plane are you jumping from? With static-line there isn't much in the way of free fall. Just present your body to the wind and arch. Do what you were tought. Now putting money aside so you can get a larger ammount of time and have a little freefall experience would be a good idea. That way you will know what you need to work on and get more out of the experience. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

Yeah, that would suck. I have a 5 month old boxer/lab mix to contend with. EVERYTHING is a toy. She hasn't tried to pull at the rig at all, but she really seems to enjoy the smell of a well used canopy. I can't blame her. Learn to be happy. Pull it out, shake it, and put back in all in the privacy of your own home. Practice at home as much as you can stand before heading out. I've been teaching myself to pro-pack (I'm a flat packer) by a couple diffrent methods and will probably try the psyco pack in a little bit. You can't jump it and see how well you are packing, but you'll get plenty of practice stuffing it in the bag. You could just get it into the bag and take it back out so you have it back to the cacooning step, and do t all over again. A large piece of heavy poaster board or cardboard placed over the canopy can be used to press all the air out. One of our DZO's does this all the time. Learn to be happy. How do I get over being afraid to jump my own pack job?
Beer replied to dweeb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm afraid to jump other people's pack jobs. Of course that's jumping a 22 year old F-111 that doesn't take to kindly to pro packing (never had an on heading opening and no line twists with a pro pack) I even had a better opening from flatpacking after a 2 year lay-off. Nobody at the DZ (that I could find) had ever even seen flat packing, so nobody had a clue if I was doing it right. There's been plenty of good advice here. Just have someone watch you untill you are comfortable and know your EP's Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself. -

I've only jumped at smaller DZ's, with the exception of 2 jumps at Sabastian when in the Navy (got some odd looks bringing a parachute on a sub). I saw a picture in another thread where there was acres upon acres of open land in every direction and began to wonder how large the landing areas are at most DZ's and what you have for outs. Here's my DZ http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b367/Skyjeeper/Random%20stuff/capturedata1315377.png The arrow is the trailers and runway is 2700ft long. and the area across the street from the school at the end of the runway is a cemetary, so that's not a good out. Post a pic of yours Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

If they want to pull the old cypress or put a new one in, they'll have to pop the reserve and get a repack anyway. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

Low turns/avoidance manoeuvres and high performance canopies
Beer replied to dgw's topic in Safety and Training
I can attest, the Scott Miller course is most excelent. We got him to come out and do a few courses over the summer. You'll definately be a better canopy pilot if you listen and practice what he teaches. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself. -

I'm not even leaving my house today. I'm fortunate to live down the road from the mall and about a mile of strip malls. Statring the day after Haloween it takes 15-20 minutes to get the 1.8 miles down the road. Today, probably 20-25 minutes between lights. I accidentaly went to a mall the day after Thanksgiving. I knew nothing of Black Friday. I was completly unprepaired. I will never ever go to a store on Black Friday. I've needed to go grocery shopping for a week or so now, I think I'll be eating peanutbutter for dinnner tonight rather than driving to the grocery store. I think I have been scared for life by that trumatic event. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

I don't have an accent either. It gave me mostly central North, but pegged me for Boston (which is right up the road) but I definately don't have the Boston accent. What do you mean squeeze? There is definitely no squeezing when flat packing a 22 year old f-111 canopy. Hell, I don't even need to lay on it to squeeze the air out. It's just to bad Scott finally lengthened the brake lines after I made (what turned out) to be my final jump for the season. May never learn what full flight was on the thing. Or flare for that matter. It will be nice to be able to finally fly a canopy where I can bring the toggles past my bellybutton without the canopy stalling. I'll have to check Ebay. Thanks Masterrig, is there a website? I'll check the obvious just incase. [edit] Dougie: OK, just noticed it was ME squeezing into the container, not me squeezing the canopy in. Come on, I know you enjoyed the view when the legstraps were tightned as mich as the ladies. (It wasn't really that you were laughing at my half limping straddled walk everytime I had that thing on was it?) Learn to be happy. I'd assume that you are looking for old round parachutes. Most of us here have newer square ram air or elyptical type canopies. Those few that do have rounds keep them around and jump them for nastalgic reasons. Your best bet would be an Army-Navy surplus outlet or Ebay. Learn to be happy.
