  1. Here's my Pilot210: Black & Silver Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  2. How about Moneypenny? We've introduced three other cats to my now 19 year old, Orville. All three were on meds when we got them from the shelter, pink eye in one case and some sort of cold in the other two. We kept the new cat in the guest bedroom for a week or so while they went through their meds. Orville could smell them (we moved his food dish near the guest room door), and the new kitteh could smell Orville. They would sometimes talk to each other through the door. After the new cat was healthy enough, we spent a day with the door cracked open so that they could see each other. After that, we introduced them in our back yard, so they had plenty of room to get away from the other one if needed. By then they were curious about each other and after a few butt sniffs, they would go their own way. No real problems since then. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  3. New guy here. I repack my main the night before I go jumping. It's not so much to repack the canopy, but a chance to inspect my main/lines for damage I may have missed earlier, or to untwist the brake lines, or whatever. Kind of like pre-flighting an airplane before you go up... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.

  5. Yep...are you? Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  6. The airport (Longmont - KLMO) is at 5052 feet. It's probably an 1:45 drive from the Springs. You could at least do a hop & pop, no? It would be worth it just to take in the scenery a bit. Might as well get used to the drive too... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  7. I lived in a townhouse before we bought our current house. Cheaper is OK, but I will never share walls with anyone else again. Too many times I heard the neighbors talk/fight/have sex, not to mention hearing their dogs bark, kids cry, etc. I'd much rather buy a smaller house than get a townhouse. YMMV... 8. I finally have something worth reporting! Seven jumps at Eloy: two hop & pops Friday, and five RW jumps Saturday. Got rained out Sunday, but I was able to split an hour in the tunnel with Mile Hi Mayhem and my friend Chris. Winds were too strong today for me, so I only got in about half the jumps I wanted to make while I was there. I also met my first non-Mile Hi DZ.commer, Freefall365. Beer for my first trip to Eloy, and probably a few more things... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  9. I still remember going to Autohaus in Lancaster, PA with my folks to pick up our brand spankin' new 1969 VW Beetle. White/red vinyl interior (no radio!). I was five years old. We kept it long enough that I learned to drive and take my test in that car. I was seriously pissed when my parents traded it in on a Jetta. Uggh. But we had a few other cool cars too: 1972 BMW 2002, 1973 (?) MGB GT w/triple carbs, and a 1976 Malibu Classic SW. Mom and Dad also liked the VW Bus; I think we had about six of them over the years. About half were campers. No heat in any of them. We had to sit in sleeping bags on the way back from ski trips. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  10. Cool! See you there! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  11. Anyone going to Eloy the weekend of 25 Jan? Kinda nervous about jumping there with all of 37 jumps, but really excited too. Any tips for a newb on his beer trip to Eloy are most appreciated! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  12. "The ground isn't fast, but it's patient, fair and very hard. It cares not a jot for your reputation and its a limit that will not be pushed." t RIP, brother... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  13. Bingo. My company did something similar, but we were all ranked in order of "value to the company" from one to whatever. We were then grouped into sections 20%/70%/10%. The bottom 10% were either laid off, or encouraged to either step up to the plate, or leave on their own. The rankings were performed by management, and we still have not been told specifically what information was used to create the ranking we received. And no, we little worker bees were not allowed to rank management. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  14. Cool, I got your name right! Nice meeting you too...we'll be back sometime in the summer. Hopefully, there won't be any ice storms then! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.

  18. Nope, but I don't want anyone's hairy, sweaty balls violating my rig while I'm there... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  19. This show was on the Military channel tonite. Well worth watching... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  20. Yep, I liked the place as soon as we stepped inside. JR and Jack were all too happy to talk about skydiving, airplanes, whatever. I just got a good feeling there. I'll definitely stop by next time I'm in PA. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  21. We'll be back sometime early summer. The ice storm wiped out our plans this trip. My parents house lost power yesterday, and they *may* get it back tomorrow. We had checked in to the Farnsworth House in Gettysburg yesterday, and they lost power too! We had to stay at a hotel in Mechanicsburg last nite and tonite with my parents and their dog...heading back to Denver in the morning. I'll definitely let you know when we'll be here next time. Thanks for the offer! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  22. Stopped by Chambersburg today to check it out. JR and Jack were there, and someone named Doug ( I think his name is Doug...sorry if I'm wrong!) stopped by to pick up his rig. Seems like a really cool DZ to call home. The weather was crap, so no one was jumping. JR and Jack answered a bunch of questions from my Dad and gave us a tour of the facilities. Hopefully, I can get back to PA this spring or summer to do some jumps and meet some people there... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  23. Nope, and it was a Navigator260. I didn't really worry too much about it. Good if you do, PLF if you don't. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  24. Two weeks, and I'm going nuts. I'll be in Pennsylvania this weekend, so I may try to get a jump in at Chambersburg or Maytown if the weather is OK... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
