A couple of quotes I like: "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Had a guy who started wingsuiting and landing off time after time. I told him to take off the wingsuit or start landing on every time for this very reason. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

That's pretty much what I have planned for the demo video. The hard part is synchronization. I'm actually going to bang together a custom firmware that records tone change data (rather than GPS data) with precise timing, and blinks the FlySight's LED when it's turned on as a way to synchronize the clock with video. Then, back at home, I'll use a second custom firmware to reproduce the FlySight's sounds exactly using the recorded timing data. However, this is likely way too complex for anyone else to use. If I was shooting first-person video and wanted synchronized sound, the best would be to have a camera with a mic input. Failing that, Klaus's idea is probably the next best thing. FlySight's audio output can be pretty loud, so it just might work. Michael Why not just use a splitter and the camera mic input? Also, where and how are you mounting it? I'm thinking about purchasing one and trying to determine how I would mount it to my helmet. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Would it be possible to make a video with the data overlaid and sound in the background? That could sell me ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

At least they aren't blowing themselves up! What about all the assaults and murders that occur because of infidelity or promiscuity? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Everyone having sex with everyone is not the solution to your problem. If you don't believe me, just watch Maury Povich ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

As long as that 'Vette (or 'stang, or Z3) is bright yellow, orange, ... Good color choices. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Still planning on doing barrel rolls? I'll say it again ... you're supposed to be looking for (and avoiding) what is below you, not what is above you ... let the person above you look for (and avoid) you. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

While wingsuiting I typically deploy in full flight resulting in a very large "pendulum". I doubt the "pendulum" is responsible for more violent openings. It's much more likely that the higher speed from being head low is causing more violent openings ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

The speaks more about the pilots because my Phantom 2 (which I absolutely love) has nothing on my Stealth 2 when it comes to distance. The pilot was the shortest, second heaviest, oldest guy on the plane. The Stealth owner had just gotten his, however. 3rd, maybe 4th flight on it. While build of the pilot plays a role I was referring to skill (with regards to the wingsuit being used) of the pilot. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Just waiting for someone to be barrel rolling or back tracking and go through a canopy ... I've experienced premature pullers that I've had to avoid. If I had been barrel rolling or back tracking I likely would have gone through their canopies. You should be paying attention to (and avoiding) what's below you and let those above you pay attention to (and avoid) you. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Watch: What a Legal Pot Economy Would Look Like
Butters replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Link From a Canadian study, the odds of developing COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)(defined by spirometric testing) were as follows : Tobacco/marijuana smokers: 2.9:1 Tobacco only: 2.74:1 Marijuana only: 1.66:1 Ten patients and no control regarding the quantity or quality of marijuana ... very scientific. I'll admit it, when I started skydiving I went back and forth about doing a barrel roll to check the airspace above myself before deploying. However, I've come to the conclusion that you're supposed to be looking for (and avoiding) what is below you, not what is above you ... let the person above you look for (and avoid) you. what altimeter to use? keeps triping canopy deployment.
Butters replied to crazjeep's topic in Wing Suit Flying
The problem is software can't distinguish between deploying a canopy and flaring a wingsuit ... I gave up using my altimeter for anything other than the occasional altitude check (which can be done regardless of which mode it's in). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
Do you 'quarter' your slider?
Butters replied to ridestrong's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It shouldn't make any difference if you quarter it, half it, or do nothing with it as long as the grommets are to the stops. So why do you think it is not optional? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
Remember, it is the Republican Party who cares about the people.

Do you 'quarter' your slider?
Butters replied to ridestrong's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I usually half the slider (sometimes I just make sure it is all the way down). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
I've been getting responses to my classified ads asking for my phone number and address from obvious scammers. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
