  1. The coaches are rushed at times. Sometimes you will need to wait until they get down from their next jump and have a little more time to debrief. If it's due to that I'd excuse it. I doubt the guy was just trying to be lazy. If he feels differently he needs to ask for some deeper critique or talk to the DZM. 2. Do the following: Start, Run. Type "services.msc" in the run dialog and hit enter. In the list look for Print Spooler. Right click it and hit start. If this service isn't running your printer may not show up, therefore you can't print. Once you start the service, give it a minute and it should return and you should be able to print. Edit: I guess someone already said this above. That should work as your error indicates this is the problem. 3. Same. I've been going there myself for about 6 years. At times the site is slow due to traffic, though it's gotten a lot better. It shouldn't effect performance outside of the site itself though. And 512MB on XP should be more than enough. What's weird is if you aren't experiencing this issue on anything but the Deviant Art site? Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  5. The band just isn't pushed as far to the left as it could be so some of the strap is dangling a bit. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  9. I've seen that a lot, too. Having said that, a surcharge is a surcharge, regardless of what it's called - for example, even if it's called an "absence of a cash discount." Calling a turkey a swan does not make it a swan; it's still a turkey. DZO's who try to circumvent state laws by doing this may have gotten away with it so far, but in my professional opinion, they're still running the risk that some state Attorney General's office's consumer affairs division may decide to bring an enforcement action against them in court. If that happens, the legal fees alone, not to mention potential fines, could easily bankrupt a DZ. 3% of a jump ticket isn't that much. I've never complained about it and some places do that. I've had gas stations require that I buy at least $5 worth of stuff to use a credit card. So I'll just throw in some bubble gum or something. It's not that big of a deal and honestly, wouldn't you want to do the same thing? It's at least not worth getting a DZ in trouble for. 10. When it comes down to it, the reality of it all is that there are more important things than skydiving. And by getting your life in order, concentrating on the important things in your life... once you do that you will eventually be able to afford to jump. Don't neglect important things in your life for skydiving right now, like finding a job, getting a career, going to college... those sorts of things. Those are most important. I was at the DZ every single week for probably a year when I first started. Then in the last 9 months I had to slow down drastically. And it does suck. But I lost my job and no longer have a career until I can get another job. I also had a son in April. It really bites, but I just can't be at the DZ much anymore right now. It's something you have to deal with and realize that without having your life in order, you just can't be a current skydiver. 11. Pretty normal. In my experience anyway. Na. It's not usually that big of a deal unless it turns into one of those times where your canopy gets out of control. It's happened to me probably 15 times in 105 jumps. (A problem I seem to have solved). Just check your altitude and how far you are from the DZ. Most line twists can be undone pretty easily. Kick in the opposite direction of the line twist. Their can be complications, sure. I was also told that on opening you can grab the risers and hold them (or pull them) out to try and prevent the line twists (or prevent it from getting worse). 12. Yo Bolas. Well the problem is man, I'm kinda broke right now. I don't have a job hehe. Got laid off in March. Traveling is pretty hard for me to do right now. I'm not rich like you guys. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  13. As someone said, whether or not a PC can "recognize" a specific type of file just depends on whether or not you have the correct codec for the video and some software that supports playing it, importing it etc. When you're buying an HD camera I guess you kinda have to make sure you research these especially as you may need to use software like Premiere to really enjoy it or get much use out of it. 15. That's awesome. And now you need to find the video for us to see. Man I've not seen Drop Zone in so long. I bet I would laugh at it if I saw it now. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  16. I dreamed that I did a stadium jump... at night... out of an otter when their were only like 3 of us in the plane. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  18. In that case, yea definitely! I manage to just throw myself out and I'm always immediately stable. It doesn't take long to get so used to it that you can do that I guess. It's another story when you're doing balloon or helicopter jumps though. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  19. If your eyes were as bad as mine you would KNOW you didn't have them on. The fact that you couldn't see anything clearly if it isn't 3 inches in front of your face is a clear indication. I'm glad I have contacts too. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  20. I wouldn't say it is a bad thing, as long as there is a certain net of fear there in your mind to prevent you from getting so complacent that you just don't do things you know you should be doing endangering yourself and others. That's when you should question yourself. A lot of us are scared out of our mind when we start jumping, but later on we just get used to it. No matter what you do, even if you are a new rock star with 3 million fans, sooner or later that thrill and "newness" becomes just like everything else. I remember when I started jumping I could even smell the air in free fall. I remember how clean it smelled and how nice it was to breathe that air. Now I don't even notice it anymore. It's business as usual, but that comes with anything that you will do in life after a time. I still absolutely love it though and that's what matters, secondary to being safe. Also people deal with fear differently and humans are weird. I might be scared to death of doing one thing, but it may not bother you at all. And vice versa, you may be scared to death of something else that I can easily do. It's not like people say. The toughest guy you know might actually pee himself on the plane ride to altitude. So if you are or aren't scared, don't worry about it, just remember your training and continue trying to learn more. You can never be a master of this sport so you always have something to learn. 21. I don't think I've done a poised exit since I was doing coached jumps for my A-license (and two ways). Sad really. Exits is something I need to get in gear and actually do right. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  22. Scott isn't doing it anymore? Bummer! He is a good teacher. His class really helped me. But yea like you said I can understand him needing a breather. And we all have other hobbies and things in "real life" we have to take care of. Well, if you guys ever talk to him, tell him Chris from Skydive Carolina wanted to think him for the class and that it did wonders for me. So uh Brian. Since you're still doing it. What's up man? Call James and tell him we want you to come teach a class. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  23. It was um... *ahem*... unavoidable... Well there were two options, clouds and land on the DZ or fly around and land off. In 105 jumps I haven't landed off (other than just off the DZ a bit on AFF1). Just really don't want to know what it's like to land in a field full of animals or crazy farmers if I can help it. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  24. My opinion... instructors can tell you that you suck "nicely" and get the point across just fine. They don't necessarily have to say "man you suck at this"... That just isn't the right skydiver's attitude. Why does he or she suck and how can he or she fix it. That's better. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  25. Nice. I was wondering about that. Thanks. Hehe. Was wondering if anyone has ever pulled that prank before. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
