Thats kinda what i've been thinking myself. There are a couple people at Aerohio I want to keep in contact with. We'll see how it go's. I plan on calling around today and see what people in MI think, I'm still new, so I'm sure they're gonna be willing. .

Whats the difference between a backyard operation and a registered DZ? I have talked to a few of people that have jumped from someone’s own personal equipment and plane. What constitutes that? I keep hearing that there is a dropzone in Wauseon, OH, but I search and nothing comes up. Same for Lansing, MI. If you know the difference let me in! If I had to hypothesize I would say that, “the difference is AFF and getting licensed”! The people that I have talked to all said they jumped tandem. Around 8kft .

first was an accidental reserve(!) ride from ~10,000 how does that happen, did they forget what one to pull? .

I call it high too, I’m still high, nothing like it, it’s definitely life changing. all around its pretty crazy how everyone bonds in just a matter of minutes, almost like you’ve known eachother for years. Many people in my circle tell me the same thing, “it’s only a phase” but I can tell the difference. My people are wrong. It’s gonna be my new way of life, for life! DustyP anyone know if AFF's will transfer DZ to DZ? .

Who was that guy that jumped from like…. Really, really high? I remember he got up that high in a hydrogen balloon, I’m thinking like 80,000ft not sure. Anyone know all the facts? How high, How fast he fell? What he was trying to prove? Ect. .

You know what man you’re kinda like me in a way, I don’t like heights at all but I LOVE to face the fear. I don’t even like being on a ladder. If your going tandem you have no worries, I jumped tandem my first time and it was the shit. That’s really the way to go at first, AFF is sorta scary your fist time, that’s how it was for me. Tandem is way more enjoyable. And now I would jump everyday if I have the resources. If you wanna do it, go for it. Everyone in the community will support it and plus it’s a Great Achievement for anyone. 13,000 to 15,000 are a long damn way it’s something to be proud of. But it takes Balls. DustyP .

It really all depends man; two are pretty hardcore, I bet they have dropped over 25k each. And they have only been racing about 3 years. ATV is big money and big business. They race nationals so they go all over. Fully built quad can run 40k+ so it all depends on the resources. I just cant believe that skydiving is a lost cause, like I was saying if they could get more people to try it more people would buy it. They have no idea what they’re missing. I know what your saying about maintenance and overall functionality of a business it costly and nothing is getting cheaper but I think that if a industry as a whole wants to change, some type of plan needs to be implemented overall. .

I think this could be the uprising of the sport. What needs to happen is, you gotta get people hooked before they can justify the price. Make a deal like twice a year or however many time a jumpcenter can afford. It’s my personal guarantee that they would have way more repeaters that they would have first time jumpers. Then it’s residual income when they come back again and again. Make a deal on like the first two jumps them tax them on the remaining and only sell packages of jumps. Be way more apt. Iv saw it time and time again. If Cigarette Company can get 200,000 new smokers every year, then theres gotta be something for skydiving, it’s the ultimate rush, and it barley kills people. Here’s my personal experience When I went jumping for my first time we had a group of about 10. Anyone guessed what happed? 9 backed out they all said it was the money, luckily I have almost the best girlfriend in the world, she knew how badly I wanted to go so she jumped with me. The people that backed out test their NUMBER almost every weekend, jumping 80foot doubles on ATV’s. Its gotta be 80% cost, 10% fear, 10% laziness. If theres something I don’t know, please inform me DustyP .

Accidents: Preventable or Inevitable, Faith of Fate?
DustyP replied to DustyP's topic in The Bonfire
Accidents: Preventable or Inevitable, Faith of Fate? Just recently I lost 2 cousins in a car accident. I’m not the religious type but I still think things happed for a reason, and theres is a God but I’m still slightly conflicted. Was It their ultimate fate or could it have been prevented? If the oncoming stopped for its stop sign, they would not of died. Preventable Or would they die some other way? Inevitable I trying to bring the to a close, but still never forget them 11 and 5 is a very young My whole family is very religious and this made them question their own faith beliefs. My situation is not yours, but what do you think I know it really doesn’t matter, but nothing matters much ultimately. . -
Over the past week I'v been thinking about my 2nd jump, and looking forward to more. Its almost like when you break-up with someone that you really care about and you feel kinda lost until you come to grip with it, thats kinda how I'm feeling. I feel like theres not enough time to do anything else but think and go skydiving. Im kinda in a helpless situation. I dont make enough money to do what I want, and pay all my damn bills. It sucks. If i could have it my way. Id jump everyday. On top of the price of jumping the DZ is about 3hr45min drive, little under $50 in gas alone. that shit adds up faster than I can make it. Im gonna try to jump and strech it out till middle of fall or whenever they stop jumping and save over the winter, but still DAMN. I want to go today. Im gonna have to settle with mowing the lawn and looking around on DZ.com. Have fun fo me DustyP .

Yep, Yep, people I did it. and it was amazing. AFF 1 and on my way. Have to give it up to Peter at Aerohio. He did an amazing job on teaching me. everything went off without a hitch. It was a lot diffrent than Tandem thats for damn sure. I had a bit of sensory overload once I got out but once I started to see hands signs in my face it started to come back to me, and it was awsome. There were 3 other AFF'ers in the class and one ended up about 1 mile from the DZ. I landed perfect. The other was on the last load, I diddent watch. So Thanks Peter, Chris, Creig and Aeroiho. I'll be back for more that we can all count on. DustyP .

what does it take to jump tandem with someone else? is being an instructor the same a being able to jump tandem with someone? in other words do i have to be an instructor to jump a tandem rig?. if so, what does becoming tamdem instructor consist of? i have daydreams about jumping tandem with my soon to be wife, all over with geographical terrain and huge land marks. Moutains, coastal lines, anythings that would have tons of visual rewards. .

im on my way people! ill be a full time jumper before we know it. 2nd jump 1st AFF at Aerohio aug5, wish me luck! this is off any subject. i seen on T.V. and not a movie. this guy jumped without a shoot attached to his body. he was holding it all diffrent ways and even by his feet falling upside down. this crazy ass also flew aircraft to aircraft without a parachute. is this common or is this chapp a special fellow. Peace out and good reactions people DustyP .

I did my First tandem jump july3 and going back and jumping AFF on aug.5. Can't wait. I had the same but diffrent dream for about 5 days prior to the jump, i kept saying "get ready to skydive" just before i jumped and would never finish the dream. i made it reality on the 3rd. I think i have found my calling, all i think about is jumping, the door opening and the cold air rushing in, the leap of faith, the gound seeming the it's not coming any closer. Crazy. Does anyone know if i have to used supplied equipment or can i buy my own for all of my following jumps in AFF. Is AFF diffrent than getting a licenced, or just an overall process consisting of AFF jumps? Thanks Dusty .
