  1. From what I remember when I got my D license the Sims said, no sorry suggested a hop and pop to get current thats it. Time in the sport sometimes overides the guy who has a ton of jumps in a short period of time. Its nothing new, skydiving is easier than getting back on a bike . Our dz owner hasn't jumped in 7 years and he jumped back to win a bet by landing on a dime after 7 years but in the sport since the 60s.
  2. I had a dropzone tell me that if I didn't jump over 6 months I had to pay $70 coach jump, over 2 years $110 for AFF jump. So someone could hold my hand thats been in the sport for 14 years. Guess what I jumped yesterday. Track high, Pull LOW!!!
  3. that almost sounds like tandam jump i saw in my plane when the res. opened today! I HATE LANDING IN PLANES WITH NO FLAPS ON A TINY RUNWAY WITH A PISSED OF PILOT. Track high, Pull LOW!!!
  4. Today were in a C 182 which is put together with 3 crashed planes. The dz owner cant get a brake with his planes going in. I with a tm and video.I'm sitting in student and the tm is behind the pilot. I cant see his rig so good but I see some fabric under his res. flap at 1500. It didnt look bad so I kept it to myself and forgot about. Then at 7000 I saw it again so i told the video guy who was right next to him and he pulled the rig from the back of the seat and one of the res. pins where out. we had no pull cord. We had to go down but I wanted out. The pilot/dz owner was pissed more money wasted. I wanted to get out but the door shouldn't be open so i'm going down fast. he had us pinned in the plane to get down like a mad man. My rig was glued to the controls. When we pulled out of the dive around 1300 we found out we had no flaps. Now hes really mad. I must of burnt out the motor or something when my rig was on it. NOW I REALLY WANT OUT. He climbed up to 2500 with no flaps. I told the tm to keep pressure on the seat and me and the video dude were out of there. He used every foot of that runway and they were cooking. The fear is in the plane the easy part is the skydive. Track high, Pull LOW!!!
  5. Not necessarily correct. I wish Avery would chime in here and tell us about the above-mentioned 1997 WFFC low-altitude balloon jumps. I believe you can jump non-TSOed gear from an aircraft with an FAA waiver. YES I WAS THERE, IT HAPPENED. THE BALLOON WAS ON A ROPE SO THE COULD KEEP JUMPING WITHOUT CHASING IT. NO BIG DEAL. NO ONE TOLD ON ANYONE. I CAME FROM A BIG DZ IN THE NE WHERE WE MADE THE NO RULE RULE AND YOU HAD TO COVER YOUR OWN ACTION. YOU DIED THATS ON YOU. WHEN IT COME TO BREAKING RULE: 2 YOUNG JUMPERS (250+200 JUMPS) TOOK OUT AND TRAINED A NEW JUMPER USING DEMO GEAR SABER 190 FOR HIS FIRST TIME WITH A GUY WITH 70 JUMPS TAKING PICTURES;1,2,3 JUMP WAS AFF LEVEL 1-3, 4 WAS A 10 WAY, 5 WAS THE CONNIE, 6 WAS A 4 WAY, 7 WAS A HELICOPTER. HE GOT HIS LICENSE AFTER THAT WITH A COUPLE OF JUMPS SIGNED FROM THE BOGGIE. START TO DO CREW ON HIS 15 JUMP. HE HAS BEEN IN THE SPORT FOR YEARS NOW. NOW THAT WAS ONLY ONE THING AT THAT BOGGIE I WILL SAVE THE HERD FOR ANOTHER TIME As much as everyone wants to separate BASE Jumpers and Skydivers, we must keep in mind that we are all parachutists.... Track high, Pull LOW!!!
  6. looking back at my 12 years in the sport in the north east I raley jumped and flew with anyone who was not been drinking and or stoned. Things are different now maybe where getting older but the stories I heard when I started when I was 20 from the oldtimers jumping on acid and other drugs seem worse. If you dont thing this is going around at almost every DZ your on drugs. Track high, Pull LOW!!!
  7. Its your middle name and the street you grew up on. Jonny Montrose Track high, Pull LOW!!!
