SkySystems Factory Diver with no lens...
Nicolai replied to aceofd1amonds's topic in Gear and Rigging
Well, depends.. Make sure they protect your eyes completely. I'd say either go with skydiving goggles or consult your instructor about the sunglasses, just to be sure. You can get shaded goggles in allmost any color you like, so i dont see the reason for using sunglasses, other than the coolness factor. Have fun -
SkySystems Factory Diver with no lens...
Nicolai replied to aceofd1amonds's topic in Gear and Rigging
A factory diver with no visor will work fine if you wear a pair of goggles or even a pair of sunglasses. I've jumped this configuration(w/ goggles) myself while i was at student status. No problem. -
or.. He might have been injured while having sex

A friend of mine just gor a Mirage G4 MO, and it fits a 159 safire and a 143 optimum reserve just fine. So i guess a Pilot 150 should not be a problem. The optimum reserve is a tight fit though (its a brick!). It's really a nice rig. But vector 3 is the real deal

A Sabre2 170 or 150(haven't decided yet), and a PD reserve 143. I'm currently on a 190, so i'll demo a 170 and a 150.. if i feel i can handle it i'll go with the 150.

Just ordered my V310Micron! V-split design, w/black and red tie dye in the V. I'll have it by January, I'm so excited!!!!

Well, I surely need a new rig, now that I am starting college, and therefore will be poor as a very very pooor guy. And 30% off might just be what will get the bank lady soft enough to lend me the rest of teh money fo it And every skydiver knows that new gear can, and most certainly will, bring a smile on my face every time I feel down. Then I'll just go hug that sweet sweet new rig of mine, and then I'll feel sp much better thinking about jumping my new rig, instead of feeeling down about all that homework I should be doing. Then, when I am all high on skydiving vibes, I can pt lots of effort into my homework, and graduate as the best Maritime Officer that ever sailed the seven seas.. HAAARGH

Well, i've jumped my Sabre2 190 for 15 jumps. I absolutely love it. It is such a blast to fly ad the landings are amazing. Soooo much flare power from the very start of the flare gives very "swoopy" landings. Well at least I get the feeling of flying across the ground before i touch down. I have not jumped any other canopy(of the ones you mentioned) but student canopies, like Raven4 280, Navigator 260, navigator 240. The openings are great and on heading'ish.. 45 degrees ocasionally, but no linetwist, high sliders or closed end cells and no slammers. And i pack like there is no tommorow(kind of trashy, but it could be worse). All in all I'd say if you can live with the openings not being 100% spot on every time you have the perfect fun machine in a sabre2. All of this, of cuorse is my own opinion and experiences with the sabre2. I hope you find a canopy that is just right for you Blue skies and dont forget to tell us your choice. and remember to buy the precious beer VERY VERY important!!! Nicolai

that's just awesome.. I am SO there next year! -
Cypres2. Thats whats in my rig. It's brand new, so i won't be getting another for many years to come.. I'm comfortable knowing it's there. blue skies

Hey there.. I've made exactly the same progression. I'd say that the Sabre2 is a lot more... SOMETHING. It's more of everything a navigator is. It turns faster, it flies faster and it flares amazingly more than a navigator ever does. It's a bitch to pack tho.. I am very happy i chose a sabre2 and I abolutely love it. It is a faster canppy In every aspect, but in no means too fast. my loading is aprox. 1,1.. i think. Blue skies. Nicolai

Well that sounds exactly like the thing for me! I'll check with the embassy to see how all the paperwork sets me back! And of course I pack everything i can get my hands on at my DZ! Gotta get speed in those pack jobs. I'll try to get the tandem masters to teach me how to pack our tandem rigs (I'm pretty sure they are Vector). Blue skies Nicolai

Thanks a lot for the answers. The reason I was considering going to the states to work is I am siick and tired of going to school. That combined with a crappy ´Danish skydiving season(feels like it has been Fall all year round so not really a lot of jumping going on). I'll try to get my s**t together and finish school and get a job. I am definetely not going to college anytime soon. Anyway thanks again, It made me think twice about going to USA to pack. Blue skies Nicolai

Hello there! I am an 18 year old skydiver from Denmark. I currently have 56 jumps. I have my own skydiving gear. I finish high school July next year and I was wondering how it is like working in a big, commercial Drop Zone like Skydive Perris, DeLand, Eloy . I know how to pack parachutes and I hold the Danish parachute riggers certificate, meaning I am allowed to pack a square parachute with slider and bag I am not allowed to do reserve packs, and putting lines on slinks and slinks on risers and other stuff like that). I am not a very fast packer but speed, I think, comes with the experience you get when you pack a lot. I am not used to pack tandems but as stated earlier, I am willing to learn and it has been shown to me before. That was my background for asking these questions: IF I am coming a big DZ to wor(packing, manifesting or other(?)): • What is the basic salary I can expect? • Where will I live? I can live in a tent, but a bunk would be nice. • Will I be able to make a few skydives a’ week? • Can I afford some time in the tunnel? • Maybe I should start by with saving some money and just go to the big DZ’s and have fun and see if it is a place I would like to work? Can I use my Danish skydivers license? That was pretty much my skydiving resume, I am well aware of that it is a short one but I do believe I have the needed passion for the sport that is required to have it as a job. I have my mind set on a mirage or a vector3. Mostly because they are some awesome rigs and i am tired of seeing everyone jump javelin and javelin odyssey at my local dropzone here in Denmark. Don't get me wrong javelin is an awesome rig too, but i just think it boring to look like the others. Not that i will be shopping for gear anytime soon, but i have a good idea of what i will choose. Blue skies. Nicolai
