Yes granny but you have also gone back and remedied the situation on how to see the landing area from a different angle.. Next time you will be ready for that scenario...or at least more ready. You will find that sometimes you struggle with a skill set or task and other times you won't. I got through AFF quickly and got the A and then decided I liked backsliding - took me 30 jumps to break that little habit....then it was landings, which I am just starting to figure out. Hang in there and remember you are doing this because it is FUN. If you get frustrated it will take all of the fun out of it. EXACTLY - its never fun to be going backwards when you land. From my limited experience I have figured out at about which wind speed I can penetrate and when the winds are too high for me (generally at about 18mph). I also look at gusting winds. If people are getting knocked around I stay down. If there is anything that my instincts say are "too much for me" I stay down. There have been times when I have jumped gotten down and said I was done for the day (usually at that point it is Margarita time). I believe that there are a couple of articles on "no wind landings" as well as "landing in turbulence.........all of which are good sources of additional information. Fondue is a family specialty... We only do it about twice a year, but if I had more requests, I'd do it more often. alright....come to lost prairie for the boogie...do fondue and we can do wine tasting the same night....great combo heh????? I'd love to do Lost Prairie, but it's so far and out of my budget. We are having roast and au gratin potatoes but doc and I both worked today so it was something quick and easy - Doc and I may have to venture to see you esp if you are cooking like that! I don't cook all that great but I am notorious for making candy...home made fudge, almond roca, truffles, peanut brittle. Doc tends to gain a few lbs. at xmas.
