    You make some great points doc! I haven't jumped with broken ribs but have taken care of enough people to know how miserable they are.....and can't even imagine trying to jump due to the opening shock issue. And you want to make sure that you are healed.....it makes me wonder if you could be at risk for the possibility of fracturing the area again if you go back too early.     another consideration if you aren't able to learn to jump yet is to get into the wind tunnel. It will help you with your eventual AFF training and you can learn body positioning and get the sense of what free fall feels like. It isn't really what you want but it is an option that is viable for you if you aren't able to start jumping right a way. I have about 80 minutes of tunnel time and it has definitely helped with my flying - and I will be doing more.     We keep our babies on a leash and in the trailer. we go out and walk them and play with them frequently. we do not let them anywhere near the hanger or near the landing area. I love having the dogs out there - and try to be respectful to other jumpers by keeping them out of certain areas.     Pete Hill sent out a case of animal beer to pay his fine. I'm bringing a couple bottles of Veuve Clicquot cremant demi-sec to commemorate my last jump on Saturday. Please don't spill it or get any whipped cream in it. Blues, Dave my beer light is on early so......I need some sort of entertainment Animal beer from Mr Hill? I guess I shouldn't expect aanything less. WE are bringing more out as well for ppast dues.     yeah its been a year since I read it.I guess maybe I should pick that to read ont he plane. ok heres the important stuff I left out: -towel -camera batteries -flashlight -sunscreen (I dont burn but I'll pack it anyway) what else? You WILL burn in LP. The sun is INTENSE! Trust me on this. I don't normally burn but I have ended up with a WICKED sunburn in LP. Sunscreen is your friend. Don't forget to reapply. Oh, and on your way through Kalispell, stop and get a floaty toy for the lake. You'll need it!
