so how are your 2006 goals going
matthias replied to pincheck's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
hehe thanks. As far as AFF I have level 3 this weekend. Its been slow since the weather in Houston has been very flaky the past month, and at the moment I can only afford one jump per saturday. Lol, and its not so much the bank account Im worried about as it is the credit score Ah well, its a worthwhile investment. Hope to have aff done by the first week in september at the lastest. If all goes well, maybe have my A liscence before the end of the year. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com -

so how are your 2006 goals going
matthias replied to pincheck's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Interesting to note that my 2006 goals never included making my first skydive. Due to certain circumstances I had to set my goals for music to the side. So far its to complete AFF, set aside some money toward purchasing my own rig when I have my licsence. AFF's going good so far...the financial situation's shot to shit tho _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com -

Heh, its interesting to note that during the time I was a DJ, the promo mixes I gave out included my contact info for bookings. As a result, women called me _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

I've dated blond, brown, redhead, black haired girls...it really doesn't matter to me as long as the hair color is or looks natural. Bleached blonds and girls with black hair that you can tell aren't naturally black...just doesn't work for me. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

Welcome to the forums bro. In my personal opinion tho a 'whuffo' is someone who has not jumped and never will due to their attitude. Those who are curious about the sport, but haven't gotten to jump due to circumstances out of their control (transportation, financial situation, etc) shouldn't fall into this catagory. Before starting your AFF, you might look up these 3 books that have been helpful to getting me familiar with understanding the sport: The Skydiver's Handbook by Dan Poynter & Dan Turoff Mental Training for Skydiving and Life by John Derosalia JUMP! by Tom Buchanon Easy to read and comprehensive. I wish I had read em before taking level 1, but they'll help me out when the weather finally permits for level 2 tho. Bets of luck, Matt _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

My favorite would obviously be the 4 seasons hotel in Miami. Room service, jacuzzi, comfort. I miss it. As far as unconventional places go, behind the letter Y of the hollywood sign on mt lee after hiking up with a s.o. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

Immediately after my first tandem, I signed up for AFF. I knew skydiving was my newfound passion and Skydive Houston (to my understanding) only offered AFF. I've never done static-line, but from the impression I get, (and correct me if I am wrong) you dont experience the 60 seconds of freefall. For anyone wanting to be a liscenced skydiver they should go ahead and get right on with the student program so that the jumps count toward the recommended 25 for the A liscence. Hope this helps, and welcome to the sport :) _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

Do you know anybody famous (other than Skygods&goddesses)
matthias replied to sartre's topic in The Bonfire
Not sure how many are into electronic music. But I have gotten to open for a few headliners such as Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Crystal Method, Hernan Cattanneo, Gabriel and Dresden, among others. Got hang out with them before and after the gigs and most of em are down to earth cool bros. I wouldn't go as far as saying I know them, but yeah. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com -
How do I pass a drug test. (hard scientific evidence please)
matthias replied to PowderdToastMan's topic in The Bonfire
Source: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/testing/testing_info10.shtml How to Piss and Pass - - ----=-=--=-=----- - - * Washing your system - How much water and for how long? In an emergency you can start drinking water as soon as one hour before the test, 4-6 hours is recommended. There is no known universal dosage, but you should be urinating so often it is ridiculous. One drawback is that watery urine is produced. Sometimes urine is rejected on the basis of its color alone. Taking B-complex vitamins will help keep the urine yellow. * Drinking vinegar does not work. * Urinaid is one additive that works every time. Pour the contents of the vail into your sample during the collection procedure. Don't drink it! This method will not work on RIA - it won't pass military tests. * Visine does not work. * Powdered urine from Byrd Labs works fine for those not sure about the integrity of a friends sample. Prepare ahead of time, directions are included. * Niacin and Golden Seal have shown encouragement, but they are inconsistant. This urinator would not chance it. * Don't rely on the ibuprofen alibi. Anyone who has taken enough ibuprofen to cause a false positive above the 100ng cut-off (impossible) can rest assured: The GC/MS confirmation tests will confirm that it is indeed ibuprofen. * The length of time or a THC positive varies. The average time for the regular user is less than two weeks. Water is a good method for these people, as insurance. An infrequent user should not have to worry after a couple of days. * Substitution is the most interesting and challenging approach. IF you really hate the Bladder Cops, this can be quite gratifying. If you are using a friend's urine, be sure you know what drugs they have taken over the last month. There is no definitive test for amphetamines, OTC remidies such as Contac and Alka-Seltzer are notorious. If you don't list it, most any drug can get you into just as much trouble. For any substitution be prepared to give 60cc. Also be sure it falls within the 91-97 degree temperature range. Most often the test containers have a tape on the side indicating the samples temp. Whatever the container, it must open quietly. Toilet paper is a convienient, provided, insulator. Many collections require that you change into a `gown.' By using a vial or condom taped to the inner thigh, you can get around the gown as well as the temperature requirement. Most importantly - practice! Practice until you have made it a fine art. a woman with a shirt can fake urination even with an observer in the room. A man with his back to an observer can do just as well. Abbie Hoffman suggested a few drops of urine on the seat or on ones shoe as an added measure of authenticity. * If you can't pass the test - screw over the chain of custody. This involves safety seals, signatures and treating your urine like serious stuff. Act nervous. Sign the papers differently in different places. Initial the wrong place and then scribble it out. If the official is not paying attention, mark in the `do not mark' areas. These papers are reviewed before analysis, if they are inconsistant, your sample will be voided. * If you fail the test, Raise hell. A urine test gone wrong can make a passive person rabid. Don't take it to court. It is virtually impossible to win a case, especially in pre-employment. All positive samples are kept in the labs for two years. Edit: Jaden beat me to it. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com -
Isn't that the truth. Everyone at work thinks I've lost it and none of my friends have skydived. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

The only arrow I'm aware of is the one of the overhead map. While under canopy I difted forward for the first minute anticipating radio instruction, heard only static/distorted audio followed by the radio beep...so figured it wasn't going to help me much. It was an uneasy feeling and what should of been a relaxing canopy ride turned out to be otherwise. I was wired from the freefall and after determining the radio wasn't working, felt my heart start pounding. "Shit...okay, relax...let's find that dropzone." I looked around and first spotted the runway with the white X's a tad behind me over my left shoulder and turned toward. I was still at 3,500 feet so I was good on altitude. As I neared 1,000 feet I decided to come in alongside the runway to give myself plenty of landing space without obsticals. The last 100 I started to get ground rush and had trouble determining my distance from the ground. I tried to use the windsock for reference but I must have been at least 20-25ft when I flared rather than 10. The brakes worked, but the canopy took a dive for the final 10 feet. "Shiiiiiiiit!!!!!!" *IMPACT* Life flashed before my eyes, rolled a few times. Few bumps below the left knee and the shoulder. Got up, bit shaken up but no broken bones. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

0:2:0 Did AFF level 1 twice. Exit was stable, did everything right the first time but had a little trouble at pull time, reached for it to fast and grabbed the mainside JMs altimeter rather than the PC I reached for it again but JM ended up pulling it first. Radio wasn't working properly for the canopy ride, but managed to steer it back to the dropzone for landing. As it was my first landing attempt, ended up flaring 10-15ft too high and sort of crash landed next to the runway...ouch. Ended up spending the $185 that was meant to go toward level 2 to retry level one. This time the exit was a bit hectic. Brittany came along to shoot video, though she was unable to keep up during freefall for weighing half as much as us. Upon exiting and what I *thought* was a good arch we rolled over twice, reserve-side JM went flying off then was gone leaving just the mainside. According to his debriefing I went inverted for a bit until he flipped me back over. Aside from that bit of insanity, the rest of the jump went okay and this time pulled without any issue. The radio worked and landed softly at the LZ. Onto level 2 this saturday. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com

During the past 6 years, there was nothing that would make me give up on the music. After getting into skydiving, I can say the same thing. I haven't had too good of luck with relationships mostly due to circumstance (bad timing, long distance, etc) so its not too huge of a problem. I doubt I will ever get engaged, but if I do the S.O. will have to share the passions in life I do. For the time being, whuffos who are against the idea of jumping are no longer a dating option. _________________________________________ trance/house mixes for download: www.djmattm.com
