  1. I love this camera, but it's finally shit the bed. First to go was the touch screen, but that's no biggie since I have the wireless remote. Last thing that's happened is a glitch that causes the camera to zoom in and out wildly as I exit or when I transition to my back in my wingsuit. It NEVER did this before and, yes, my zoom is taped down so it does not move. It would not be that much of a problem except that I jump a .3 lens on it which "fuzzes out" at about the .5 zoom mark. Anyway, I am going to get an HC5, but would REALLY like to replace my trusty old 109. Does ANYONE know where I can find one? Don't say "look on E-bay" either. I already have. If not that, could someone point me to a link for a NOS (that's new old stock for you people who have never worked on an old car) PC-1000? I don't want to wear a side-mount heavier than those two cameras. Thanks in advance.
  2. No, but there are several of us here who have enough flights in the suit to show you how to fly it correctly. I can tell you how Loic told me how to fly the suit at Deland a few years ago: You turn the INSIDE of your elbows straight up and push upward with the insides of your wrists Zach had a new one here at Flock and Dock 3.0, so I got more opportunities to fly the suit (as did a bunch of others). I didn't have any problems at all flying the suit with confidence, front or back, holding my arms like I described above. I don't know how Omar held his arms, so maybe he will pipe in as well. So, to answer your question, yes, we can definitely help you out here at Z-hills. I actually really like the suit except for the stupid center-pull arm release. If I owned one, I would rig it with seperate left/right loops that you didn't have to fuck with everytime you took the rig off or put it on. The zipper system on the new versions is super clever and the rare-earth magnets are plenty strong. Chuck
  3. Stinky freeflyers only WISH they could backfly like we do.
  4. ...and all the biased/skewed judging that goes along with those events.... Again, while "artistic" events are clever, I believe they ought to be judged "technically." Black and white, yes he did it or no he didn't do it. Otherwise you might as well just go ahead and give the prize to the most popular team. Personally, I don't want to be compared to a figure skater or a stinky freeflyer. I will, however, gladly participate in any version of competition that evolves. Everything other than distance covered that is. My short ass is simply not built for it. Now backflying for distance; I would REALLY love to participate in that one.
  5. TrENT, not TrEVOR, you pinche whey. Trent JUST left yesterday.
  6. Quick question: didn't Andy Anderson move back "home" to ZA? Is he simply not interested in competing anymore?
  7. Oh yeah! That's right! It was Mexican Tony!
  8. That's never been an issue in the past. There is nothing anywhere stating that every event must be hosted at the same venue.
  9. I feel their pain. I got next to no participation the year that I ran a district.
  10. There are zero people who "have" either of the suits right now other than the ones that EG took down to central america and the ones Nick brought here to Flock and Dock. Both suits flew easily in the all of the flocking we did at the event. The larger suit, the RM was flown with authority by pretty much everyone who fit in it. Nobody jumped that suit in the distance challenge though, so I can't report on how it compared to other suits in that regard. Chuck
  11. Artistic events are great when you have enough qualified people in your pool of participants. Perhaps we will add one to our other events at FnD 3.5 or maybe even at SkyFlock this summer. The problem with artistic events, though, is that judging can vary wildly. At this stage, I believe that you would be better off if you used a more deliberate method, like Jarno is talking about. X amount of points per completed move/dock, with no "style" points. Chuck
  12. And that's the point, Tash. I have seen at least four different removable slider setups and I have personally had at least three variations of "full" RDS setups. While the rigging might seen common-sense to me, I am not about to expect even a fellow competitor to have any of that (common sense that is). FWIW, I reattach my slider from a standing position with my rig still on my shoulders. It's virtually impossible to cross your lines or attach the slider upside down that way. Chuck
  13. Actually, it's very easy to do time aloft and distance judging. We just did it at Flock and Dock 3.0 All you need are exits from a known point perpendicular to the flight path, a couple of people on the ground a sufficient distance downrange to watch ends of flights and openings, and Neptunes. Do you have any aerobatic wingsuiters in ZA? I am being serious here. Even if you do, do you have people capable of staying with them to get video? Again, I think it's quite easy to judge distance and time aloft. Chuck
  14. So you had a mis-rigged removeable slider? Did you put the slider back on or your packer. I always, and I do mean always, put my own RDS back together and set my own brakes, even when I do use a packer. You cannot expect a packer to know how to deal with this extraneous gear, even if he jumps one himself. Chuck
  15. I think I may have been one of the last ROL holdouts at Raeford (minus the creepiest of Stylies that is). I never really saw a reason to convert to BOC, but did so anyway after my ROL spandex wore out the last time. I DO have a number of friends jumping left-handed BOC's now, though, and all adapted to them very quickly after injuries pretty much forced them to do it (or quit).
  16. I shall fly down off of my lofty perch in The BirdHouse to participate! Caw Caw!!
  17. I will never go back in my former capacity so long as I have to pay a vendor fee of any kind. I get paid to show up or am at least comped jump tickets at other boogies. It's one thing to pay rent for your tent, but it's a different matter entirely to pay $900 just to fly your banner at a booth.
  18. Actually, a link to the info is there, just no pictures. No biggie since I already posted pictures of both suits.
