  1. I know every single one of them and they are all fantastic people. They are not only very-driven competitors, they are also all very friendly and helpful. All are totally approachable.
  2. I have NEVER seen any US competitor or "fun swooper" jumping this configuration either. Edited to add, though, that it seems like a reasonable idea and I guess I will try it out for myself to see how I like it. Chuck
  3. Those holes were the suit eats the laterals are back vents I responded to this a couple of days ago, but it seems to have disappeared into cyberspace. Anyway, what I said was that those holes could be considered passive venting at best. It would be very easy to add some active venting and airlock both sides. Chuck
  4. I have got to tell you, I am not much of a "rib guy" but those were outstanding. As was the brisket. It was a seriously-great meal. We really appreciate the gesture. See you at SkyFlock!
  5. I disagree. If you are truly interested in high performance wingsuiting you better get off your lazy ass and actually jump the things. That's not necessarilly directed at you, Yuri. Sitting down at your aerodynamic textbooks and pondering the "what if's" may sound good in theory, but when you get into this hypothetical "perfect" suit and suck worse than a novice in a Classic II don't bitch. Repetition breeds confidence, first-hand knowledge, ability, and ,ultimately, maximum performance.
  6. The only time I don't bang a big turn (either 270 or 360) is when there is simply too much traffic. That's very, very rare in a wingsuit, so I generally do get to swoop. In my wingsuit I just make sure all of my wings are completely unzipped and that my legwing is stowed in the upper leg vent hole or snapped up. I keep tightly balled up during my turn to reduce drag. Having the suit on does not affect me at all. I jump a Sabre2 97 loaded at 1.87 for wingsuiting. Chuck
  7. All these videos I've made are in 16:9. Yup! Everybody here who flys wingsuit shoots in 16:9.
  8. That's exactly the point. I really do like the camera and I don't think that replacing it with another small, obsolete Sony for about the same price would make me any happier. I got three good years out of the camera and I got a fantastic deal on it to start with, so I guess I can't bitch at all about paying $311 to get it refurbed.
  9. He's talking about the wing profile. I'll tell you what, Kris. I will take some more detailed photos of the Flockus we have on the way as soon as it gets here. It has the same arm as the RM.
  10. Well, I said fuck it and sent the thing to the Sony service center. If it comes back in working order it was money wisely spent; at least to me.
  11. would be to make your 666th skydive! My wife just did it about an hour ago. It was a three-way wingsuit jump with Phillip Peggs and I. Here's some commemorative pics! Chuck
  12. You must be the latest incarnation of Funks.
  13. Why do you need vibes? If you don't think you are up to it, then don't enter.
  14. I flew it with Vampires, Mach1's, an S3S and various other suits which happened to be on the load. No problem staying with the flock and I had a lot of range in it. I was actually surprised how much range it had on it's back (without back venting). It definitely flys differently than my other suits, but I found it very intuitive. The only wierd thing that I encountered was a side-to-side chipping max-float glide mode. Chuck
  15. James has the forward velocity of a supersonic jet. Be prepared.
  16. There are photos of the suit in flight on EG's site. There are pics of the suit on the ground posted here already in one of the z-flock threads. The wings did not look any thicker or thinner than any of my BM or PF suits. Chuck
  17. You could not afford to keep the Z-flock in free beer, fool!
  18. It's $311 for the flat-rate repair from Sony. I only paid $350 for the camera in the first place.
  19. I hear you, Matt, but I really do like my old camera (it's tiny and shoots good video). I am still getting an HC5 for top-mount, but, like you said, I really dig my side-mount. I don't think I would replace it with anything other than a PC 1000 if I had to change up. As to the internal battery thing: I don't really care. I take my camera off my helmet and plug it in after ever jump.
  20. I think Zach flew at least eight different wingsuits at the event.
  21. I didn't say I sucked, Ted, I just said I was not made for it. I have plenty of glide, I just knew I was not going to beat either Robi or Jeff so I sat that event out. A man must know his limitations. And yes, it's because I do backfly so much that I am not at any disadvantage.
