  1. Good for you! Smoking is fucking disgusting.
  2. This is a bonfire topic. Man, I am so glad that I resigned as a moderator so I would not have to move this. Chuck
  3. Sure, why not. It shows everyone what a fucking nut job he was that way there is no way in the world that anyone could possibly have any sympathy towards him.
  4. It's at least 3500 at my dad's place. There is also a fantastic swoop ditch (water filled) there for people who feel like doing a little weed eating.
  5. After nearly going in under a hard spinning main that I could not cutaway, even with two hands, I would never, ever consider jumping a small main without hard housings in the risers. I can't believe people are still jumping gear without them. Chuck
  6. Like the old C-141's, C-17's, and even C-130's used routinely for military freefall operations at Yuma Proving Grounds, AZ during the basic MFFPC, the MFFJM course and the AMFFQC. This is particularly relevant for the instructors who go up and down on multiple sorties evaluating students all day long.
  7. My old roommate, US Airforce Tsgt Ron "Body" Plunkett got bent (actual DCS) from too many evolutions up and down as a HALO instructor when he was assigned at Yuma. He was dismissed from flight status of all kinds as a result. Yes, it can happen. Chuck Blue
  8. The second and third ones are fucking awesome.
  9. I would be very, very surprised if you could not make that jump happen at one of the CA dropzones. It ain't gonna happen at Perris, but I bet you anything there is at least one place that would let you.
  10. Z-hills has a huge swamp to land in if you get a shitty spot or fly yourself downwind in that direction for too long. Raeford has tremendously tall pine trees to land in if you spot badly or fly yourself into them. Most EVERY dz has some form of obstacle that has been hit at least once per year. Chuck
  11. I don't think I have ever been to a dropzone that DIDN'T offer low passes. Problem is, there is a wide disparrity between what you pay. I was aghast that it cost fifteen bucks at Z-hills when we only paid $10 at Raeford (that may have changed since I left last year though). It's only eight bucks for a low pass at my dad's two-C 182 dz in Alabama.
  12. Don't forget the stupid fucking dreadlocks when your hair gets long and dirty enough. I especially love those on stinky packers with bad body odor and who generally have a Marlboro dangling out of the corner of their mouth when they are not in the packing tent. You could move to Z-hills and work for Khan! He's hiring!
  13. "new york style" from Pizza Hut. It was the greasiest thing I have ever seen. Terrible. FWIW, I love Papa Johns.
  14. I would POSITIVELY come to your party if I were in the area!
  15. That's a lie, Randy, and you know it. There are no real bums at Chester. There can't be; there's not a bar on the DZ.
  16. Deland, Z-hills, and Sebastian all fit that bill.
  17. already answered here, but you would be easier off just getting an S&TA to do it.
  18. In all of your last posts in this thread you come across as the worst kind of paid packer: -arrogant -greedy -uninformed about USPA/FAA doctrine
  19. That's the funny thing. I know for a fact that there are PLENTY of bigway jumpers who make under 100 jumps a year. Edited to add that I also sometimes jump with a couple of old army buddies who basically quit jumping (with around 500 jump apiece) in 1991, yet can still bang out a 10 point four-way from ten grand out of a Cessna 182 on the rare occasions we get together. Some people never lose their ability to freefall on their belly. Almost all, though, lose their ability to handle small HP canopies. Both of the guys i mentioned were jumping 150's when they left the sport and can still land them fine, but I would not consider for a second lending them any of my sub-100 canopies that I jump today. Chuck
  20. People these days have no idea how relevant that statement is. It's fantastic therapy.
  21. Raeford Parachute Center IS a USPA dropzone and always has been. USPA has always permitted 16 year olds to skydive and has technically blessed off on 16 year old tandems since the FAA tandem "test period" expired and tandem jumping was passed onto the USPA a couple of years ago. Don't think for a second that you are doing anything wrong by allowing your 16 year old to skydive; you are not. The school manager at Raeford was, until this past election, the USPA regional director. The DZO was the chairman of the board of USPA for many years. All you lawyer lovers please keep your arguments to the other 100 threads on the subject. This guy wanted to know where he could take his 16 year old for a tandem and I gave him an answer.
