I get $30 per tandem on the school's rig and and additional $10 if I choose to pack it. I get $60 to jump and pack my own tandem rig I get $30, either side, for AFF jumps I get $5 to pack a student or rental rig. I get $10 for an ISP coach jump I get $35 per person to teach the FJC I usually get $40 for a BirdMan FFC and flight and an additional $10 if the student is using one of my suits.

low timers on high perf wingsuits big deal or no
SkymonkeyONE replied to ramon's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Nice one, Ed. -
We don't tollerate any student/instructor dating (or simply wrassling) on our DZ. It's cheap and takes away your credibility as "teacher." We WILL on the other hand allow a person to jump with the person who brought them in. We tell them right away that they would get up in the air faster if they went with the next available instructor, but some still choose to wait it out. I had one five-time repeat tandem passenger who just hated to jump with anyone else. I think she eventually made a jump with John Hawke, but I may be mistaken. Chuck

JC sets new swoop world record

It would take far too long for me to cut the crap out of this thread, so anyone interested in continuing any Luis Cani/Bruno Rodriguez comparisons, please take them to another thread. Seriously, Chuck -
Yep! Kuske got INTO the center cell of that canopy!

Mountain Dew Flavors - Which is your favorite?

Code Red is the standard in my opinion. -
Front risers approach question.
SkymonkeyONE replied to SuperKat's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Dude, I can swoop the piss out of a Spectre at .9. There is no reason whatsoever that this person cannot do HP turns under that canopy. It's not the canopy; it's the progression. -
JC sets new swoop world record

It opened fine for me on my PC -
agreed

There is a suit that size in the demo inventory at BirdMan, but they are not in the habit of sending suits to non-BMI's. You could still call and ask though. That said, my girlfriend's Classic is that size as well. You could PM her and beg her. Alana has it right now.

JC sets new swoop world record

Jari docked on Vladi Pesa nearly two years before Luigi got docked on by Jeb. Winds are measured with a windmeter during competition to determine if they are within regulation. -
No he doesn't! That fucker will cut you off in a half a second if he gets a chance!

The Sabre2 is an elliptical canopy, just not so much as a Stilletto.

I posted the same response over on FlyBirdman.com, but I would just like to say that this series of videos are really cool. They give you a keen insight on what is possible with, not a rigid wing, but a wingsuit. You see, Yves Rossy, in the "Flying Man" video is shown jumping a series of larger and more complex wings. All flights are successful, but that's not the important part to me. The important part is that all of the video is shot by a cameraman flying the SMALLEST size BirdMan (or original Patrick DeGuyardon) wingsuit. That video was shot in 2000. My point is that even with the largest wings he flew in the test, Yves was not outflying that video guy, even though he had a rigid wing on his back and his cameraman was flying a Classic. Think about it. Imagine what quality of video they could have gotten had they had a modern, super-experienced wingsuit pilot in an S3 or equivilent? Personally, I think the longer Jet Man video is fantastic. The nuts it took Yves to strap that fucker on and jump it out the side of a Porter are remarkable. The exit with folded wings, jet engine start-up procedure and subsequent four minute level flight are fantastic. Every phase of his testing was documented and I never saw him once zoo that side-door exit (unlike Felix, even though he only had to step back off a tailgate). As to jumping this thing off a Cliff and flying back up to the same launch spot, I think that is very unlikely. The jet engines took 30 seconds to "stabilize" before full power could be added and then they were only able to sustain level flight. Still, the feat was very cool and I was really impressed with the engineering of the wing extension mechanism and the layout of the jets and their required componentry. Chuck

I pulled every single handle on my suit and rig on one skydive a few years ago. The handles on the suit came out fine, but my canopy was too spun up for it to have done any good. Chuck
-
None of the above. I believe the ABSOLUTE standard these days to be Ouragan. Nancy's suit's are brilliant. They are not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. Chuck

Not anything to do with the article, but yes, I do.

Note: you cannot do initiations without Brothers, Bumpy Brothers, and Tequilla.

Your decision to do AFF without an AAD would not fly at a lot of dropzones. Here at Raeford all instructors are required to jump with one, therefore there is no personal decision to make. One of my rigs has a CYPRES and the other one is AAD free. I don't "need" to jump with an AAD, but do understand that it is a smart thing to have in my rig, especially when dealing with students on a regular basis. Chuck

There we were (Craig and I), no shit. WFFC 2003. Drunk as ten indians. He drove by on a stolen golf cart and we just rode around the rest of the night and into the morning looking for more beer to drink. We drove all over the airport and through the RV park taking beers out of unguarded coolers. Kuske was yelling "HEY YOOU GUUUUUUUYS!" at the top of his lungs when we would see other night owls. Around nine or ten in the morning we stopped at my RV and I crashed. Craig wandered off in search of more trouble. He ditched the stolen golf cart in front of our vendor tent and it stayed there for several days. That dude was fucking nuts and I really liked him. Chuck

Not really a "skydiving related discussion", but very entertaining none the less

I, too, sat through the entire set of "new" DVD's in one sitting after I got them. I had no idea that "Children" was going to last as long as it did, but they were fascinating disks. I never read the books as a youngster as I was far too busy racing dirtbikes and riding skateboards. Since the weather is so shitty today I may just watch them again. Chuck

I say suck it up and pay the penalty. The sooner you are free from it, the sooner you can get screwed by the next company. I have not had "perfect" service with any of the three companies I have used, so lets just hope your next attempt gets you at least slightly better results. Chuck
